Chapter sixteen

Henry got back from work and parked in front of the house, he tried to knock but the door was opened.

“Honey, I’m home, babe” He called as he removed his suit and walked into the living room, he dropped his suit on the couch and entered the kitchen.

“Honey” he called and Jane walked out of Winnie’s room, “hey you, welcome” she smiled as she walked down the stairs

“What were you doing? I’ve been calling you for quite some time” he said as he pulled her into a hug, she remained silent

“The kids aren’t back?” Henry looked around, “what kids?” she asked and Henry looked confused but he managed to let out a little laugh

“you’re funny, our kids, Winnie and Blake of course” he chuckled

“oh, Winnie said she had this thing she wanted to do and Blake went for a party” she smiled

“Winnie had a thing? And Blake had a party?” he seemed suspicious, “okay and…wait what happened to your hands?, have you been digging out dirt?” he held her hands as he checked it from back to front.

 Her hands were dusty and her fingernails were filled with dirt, “oh digging” she looked at her hands

“Are you okay?, you look pale” he touched her forehead , “Lunch?, I’ll be right back” she smiled and walked away and Henry stood with a worried look on his face as she walked into the kitchen.

 He entered the room and brought out his phone, he then called a doctor

“Hello, Dr. Martins, a lovely afternoon indeed” he said on the phone, “I would love to book an appointment for my wife” he removed his shoes, the door opened and Jane walked in

“okay thanks Doc” he hung up, “who are you calling?” she stood by the door

“ I booked you an appointment with doctor martin, you clearly look like you need some drugs or check up or something” he dropped his phone on the table as he turned to her, she didn’t utter a word

“What are you holding behind your back?” he pointed to her arm that was hidden behind her

She smiled and brought out a knife, she rushed towards the bed and Henry pushed her with his leg, “Jane, what is wrong with you?” he yelled as she growled, he rolled to the other side of the bed and she jumped on the bed and tried to catch him, he pushed her and she almost hit the wall, he ran out of the room , “babe, I don’t want to hurt you, just stop” he begged as she ran out of the room towards him,

  She jumped on him and they both fell backwards, he dodged from side to side as she tried to stab him in the forehead, he got a good grip of her hand and rolled her away from him as he ran into the basement

  She screamed and followed him.

 In the basement, Henry hid inside a TV carton and used a small carton to cover his head, he heard her growl as she stormed into the basement

“I will destroy you” she walked around the basement and was breaking things and pushing things off, she got to where he was hidden and she stopped, Henry held his breath, she looked left and right and walked away from his side.

  Henry heard the basement door close and he peeped from the carton, he came out of the carton and slowly walked to the door, he opened the door and she jumped and stabbed him in the shoulder.
