“Did you hear me, Emily?”
Emily blinked, shaking her head slightly to bring herself back to the question being asked by none other than Jessie who was standing in front of her.
She blinked again. “Yeah. I heard you. But what is it you want to talk about? If it’s about Rhys again, you can beat it, Jessie.”
“It is about Rhys and Logan.”
“I’m working. I’m busy.” Emily looked around in the nearly deserted coffee shop that late afternoon.
Jessie bit her lower lip, an evident displeased expression on her face. “I don’t think so. It won’t take long. I’ll wait for you outside,” she said before walking out of the coffee shop and slamming the door shut.
