The breakfast table is filled with bowls of bacon, boiled eggs, sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, scrambled eggs, muffins, and French toast. Jack sits next to me at the table. He lays his hand on my lap. I'm still puzzled by the golden ring that slipped from his pockets. He said it was a promise ring from his sister but for some reason, I don't believe him.
