An optimistic approach towards life

My childhood dance teacher at school was a very lively and cheerful personality.We called her Miss Nandini. Her good name being Nandini Mandal. God has endowed her with immense beauty. I used to admire her attractive face. She stayed as a dance teacher in our school for almost two years. During her term she got married and settled abroad with her family. I remember after that we didn't have any dance teacher again in our school. Oneday l was in high spirits finding her in f*******:. To my surprise, l found out that she is a leukaemia survivor now and also the founder and artist director of Nandanik Dance Academy. She is having two beautiful daughters following her footsteps. Immediately, l sent her my request which was accepted by her at once, making me feel happy from within to find out, she remembers me inspite of such a long gap. I got to know more about her through her live concerts and performances which she keeps on updating in her profile.Miss Nandini is a leukaemia survivor, bone marrow transplant recipient with bilateral hip replacement. She continues to teach choreographs and perform through Nandanik Dance groups in Pittsburgh, U.S.A over the last 25 years. Miss Nandini has been living and breathing dance since the age of five under the guidance of her renowned Gurus. Her dance style is expressed through her emotions. Life had imposed many hurdles upon her at different stages. Somehow she did not let this hurdles refrain from expressing herself through art, dance and music. Art is her religion, these hurdles have helped her to overcome those mishaps.Through her strong determination and courage, she did not lose her flexibility and ability to dance. By the grace of Almighty her dance school flourished and is flourishing. I feel proud to be her student once. She sowed the seeds of positivity within herself inspiring many of us, to live life to the fullest. We should learn to win over our weaknesses through our strength. Dance and music is her strength which helped her to overcome the deadliest hurdle which came her way at different times in her life.I am mesmerized watching her dance with the same zest, energy and powerful emotions as she used to do before. I never miss any of her dance episodes. Earlier l used to admire Miss Nandini for her beauty and dancing style but now l respect, salute and applaud wholeheartedly for her strong determination, bravery, courage and positive attitude towards life. Presenting below a small reminiscence of her struggle in her own words : November 19 ,2020 11years since my Bone marrow transplant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center New York. I owe my life to an angel who donated the marrow, the doctors nurses who took care of me for 4 months, (and those who have been there since at Hillman Cancer Center ), and to all those golden hearts who wished and prayed that I get a second lease in life. And most importantly to my family- my husband, who sat 24/7 by my bed for those 4 months with mask and gloves, two daughters(then age 12 and 3) who waited every morning to  hear my voice from the hospital, my brother and his family(who were there always unconditionally) ,and my parents( bearing a heavy weight of uncertainty and unfathomable pain to see their first born going through all that while holding their grandchildren s hands with the warmest and bravest smiles). And all those friends who helped my family round the clock - selflessly. ( I wish I could run into the woods and shout at the skies above - Baba!!!! I made it so far!)
