WHEN Franceska heard that her twin was Chase's purpose for repeatedly coming to their house, her expression immediately changed. She straightened her sitting posture and again gulped down the wine in her goblet.
Why, out of all the names she could hear that Chase was looking for, did it have to be her twin's that he would mention? What did he want with her? And why did the two know each other?
"What?" she said, pretending she hadn't heard him properly. She also tried not to show that she was suddenly annoyed upon hearing that name.
"I need Francine," Chase told her.
She arched her eyebrow. He didn't need to repeat what he had said earlier. She was just irritated by that name. "I know. I heard you. But what do you need my twin for?" she asked, her voice feigning gentleness. But the truth was, she almost vomited the word 'twin'.
Chase stared at her as if her question was strange. But in the end, he still answered her question.
"We're not in good terms now. She broke up with me three weeks ago. We just have some misunderstandings."
Shit!
Franceska couldn't believe what she heard. That prude, dating the handsome mayor of Los Angeles?! What did Francine do to Chase for them to become a couple? Did she use a love potion on him?!
And imagine that! Her twin also had a hidden flirtatious side. Franceska had never once heard of Francine having a boyfriend. So now, she was utterly shocked.
She also couldn't help but clench her fist in annoyance and a mix of... envy.
Out of all the men in the world, why did Chase have to be Francine's boyfriend? And why didn't she know about it?
"So, are you going to help me talk to her?" Chase asked her.
Franceska gave a wry smile and then poured more wine into her goblet. She gulped it down in one go and then pointed to the sofa.
"Of course. But please sit down first," she said, pointing to another goblet for Chase. "Join me for a drink too..."
Chase stared at her. But eventually, he took the goblet and drank its contents. He then sat back down on the sofa.
Franceska subtly smirked. Did the young man really believe what she said?
Why would she help him? Chase was her target, after all. What was she, crazy? Of course, she only said that so he would drink with her because she had a plan.
Besides, her sister had already broken up with him. So she would make sure that they wouldn't get back together.
From now on, Chase would be hers. Francine would just have to be sorry for letting go of the handsome mayor.
"So, you will help me, right? To talk to her?" Chase said after finishing the wine in his goblet.
Franceska arched her eyebrow. Again and again? Was he that desperate to get back with her sister?
"Do you want me to call her now and have her come down here?" Franceska said. But of course, she wouldn't do that. What for? To ruin her plan?
She pretended to stand up from her seat and walked a few steps towards the stairs. But before she could even step her foot up, she saw Chase shaking his head.
"No need. I don't want her to see me drinking. Besides, it's already late. She's already resting. I don't want to bother her."
Franceska nodded. But instead of returning to her seat, she sat next to Chase. He moved slightly away from her, enough so that her skin wouldn't touch his.
"Okay, as you say. But you said, she doesn't want you drinking? Why is that?" Franceska said and refilled Chase's glass with wine. She thought he would protest. But she was surprised when the young man drank it again.
"I get drunk easily. That's why she doesn't want me going to clubs. And mind you, I'm only drinking now."
Hmm. Franceska was even more pleased with what she heard. If that's the case, her plan would be easier.
"So, why are you drinking with me now?" she said.
She also poured wine into her glass. She filled it up too so Chase wouldn't think she was cheating him. Besides, she had a high tolerance for alcohol. She wouldn't get drunk easily.
She saw Chase down his goblet. "You will do me a favor, right? You'll find a way for France to talk to me. So here, I'm indulging you," he said and handed her the goblet.
"You want more? You said your tolerance for alcohol is low," Franceska said, feigning concern. But in reality, she really wanted to get him drunk.
"Yeah. But I can still handle it. I'm not that weak to get drunk on just one or two glasses."
Franceska smirked and refilled his goblet again.
After a while, she was just entertaining Chase with her questions and didn't drink much anymore. She really wanted to get him drunk.
"So, what did you like about my sister?" she said even though she wasn't interested in knowing. She was just pretending so Chase would think she was really going to help him.
And because the young man was drinking more and more, Franceska wasn't worried about her plan anymore.
Chase's eyes were heavy and you could tell he was drunk. He didn't even react when she scooted closer to him. They had already finished several bottles.
"And where did you two meet?" she asked again and then slowly placed her hand on his thigh.
She thought Chase would protest because of what she did, but seconds passed and she still didn't get a response from him. Instead, he gulped down what was in his goblet again. But because he was drunk, some of the wine spilled on the side of his lips.
"Opps..." Franceska said and then wiped it off. She even caressed his lips. Causing her to curse in her mind. So soft! And she knew it would be delicious to kiss!
She saw Chase staring at her. She thought he would be angry at what she did. But he only moved slightly away from her.
"You ask so many questions. Do you think I don't notice that I'm the only one drinking?" he said and poured wine into Franceska's glass.
She smirked. He was really drunk and had already spilled some on the table.
She giggled. "No, I'm not," she said and drank it.
She thought he wouldn't notice that she hadn't been drinking for a while now.
"So? Will you answer me—I mean, my questions?" she said after gulping down the wine. Franceska also put her hand back on Chase's thigh. But this time, the young man looked down at it and then removed it.
"Stop, Francine will get mad," he said.
She shrugged and moved slightly away from the young man. He was still resisting. So she would just do her plan later. So she got Chase drunk again.
After another half hour, his head was leaning on the sofa and his eyes were closed.
"I should go home now," he said and tried to stand up but he kept stumbling and sitting back down on the sofa.
"Don't, Chase, it's midnight. It's dangerous outside. Let's just warm each other up," she said with a hoarse voice and touched his thigh again. She caressed it but Chase brushed it away.
"Stop! Francine would get mad!" he said, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
But Franceska didn't listen. So what if her sister got angry? Why would she care?
So instead of obeying Chase, she put her hand back there and sensually caressed the young man's left thigh. She even heard him exhale and then he removed it again.
But because he was drunk and had no strength, he couldn't stop her.
Instead, Franceska snuggled even closer to Chase. And her hand, which was on his thigh, moved up to the young man's chest. She slipped her hand inside his t-shirt and confirmed that he had abs there.
She bit her lower lip. So firm!
"Why are you so hot, Mayor Chase?" she whispered as she brought her mouth close to his ear. Franceska's hand was also moving up and down the young man's body.
Because he was drunk and his eyes were closing, Chase couldn't push her away anymore. She only heard protests but he couldn't stop her from what she was doing.
"S-stop..." he said stammering.
"I don't want to. I'll make your night hotter. And don't worry because I'll make sure you'll like it," Franceska whispered with a seductive voice. But Chase didn't respond, he just groaned.
So Franceska didn't waste any time. She stood up and then straddled the young man. But before she could even put her lips on his, Chase suddenly opened his heavy eyes and stared at her.
His hand rose and caressed her cheek. “Babe? Francine? Is that you?" he said.
And before Franceska could even open her lips to answer his question, he suddenly grabbed her and kissed her on the lips.
And who was she to protest? This was her plan after all.
