King’s Pov
I was in my office when one of the human pets knocked on the door.
“What is it?” I call out in an angry tone.
“Your majesty,” a male bowed as he stepped in, “The clinic is requesting your presence.”
I look at him in annoyance, “I am busy at the moment. What is so important that I need to go down there?”
“You made a bond with Lady Chelsey so your blood can heal her. She is currently down in the clinic with two broken wrists and a swollen neck.” He bowed even deeper.
I sighed and stood up, “What happened to her this time? Another noble was too rough with her?”
“No, your majesty,” He fell in behind me, “The Human General felt disrespected by Chelsey and broke her wrists.”
I saw red. Chelsey wasn’t a vampire, but I have been with her for years now. I trusted Chelsey enough, but I didn’t trust the general. She needed to be taught a lesson.
“Send one of the lords to her chamber to knock her around a little bit. They aren’t allowed to drink her blood but breaking bones is ok.”
“Yes, your majesty,” he bowed and swiftly walked away.
When I walked into the clinic, Chelsey held her arms out to one of the healers while crying her eyes out. It was pathetic to watch, but I needed to heal her to continue doing what I wanted her to do.
“My King,” Chelsey cried harder when she saw me.
“Shut it,” I growl at her, “You’re pathetic. Stop running to get me whenever you get injured. This is the last time that I will be helping you heal faster. If she injures you again, it’s your problem to deal with.” I walk up to her and s***h my wrist. I held it out to her, and she eagerly drank my blood. The moment I saw her healing, I took my wrist away from her and left without saying a word.
“Humans are weak creatures that don’t deserve to live,” I mutter to myself. Vampires were the superior species because we are faster, stronger, and immortal.
I hear a laugh behind me, “If you hate humans so much, why did you make a clinic specifically for the humans?” An arm got slung around my shoulders.
I glare at Vlad, my second in command, “We survive off of the humans. It would be a pain if one of them died because they weren’t treated.”
Vlad laughed again, “Well if we survive off of those useless humans, let me try that general. I’ve fought her many times, and I would love to see her struggling beneath me as I drank her blood.”
I shoved him off of me, “No, that one is mine. Drink from Chelsey all you want. That’s what she’s here for. The general is here so I can torture information out of her so we can finally capture all of the humans.”
Vlad sighed, “Chelsey is already a w***e. She loves it when a vampire drinks her blood. The general has never had her blood drunk, so it would make it more exciting. The new ones always struggle.”
“She didn’t when I drank from her earlier,” I started walking away so that he would have to follow me if he wanted to keep talking to me.
He ran after me, “What do you mean? Did you brand her?”
I shook my head, “No, I was looking for information from her memories, but I didn’t get anything useful other than the fact that she and James were engaged.”
Vald barked out another laugh, “She was going to marry a vampire spy? That’s golden. James must’ve performed well.”
“Yes. Which is why I’ve called him back, and I’m going to set up a meeting between them”
Vald looked at me in amusement, “I’m assuming this meeting isn’t going to be a pleasant one.”
“Not for the general, it won't. I was thinking James and Chelsey could show her how well the two of them get along,” I smile to myself.
“When will James be arriving back. This sounds like fun.” Vlad had a gleam in his eye.
“Anytime today,” I opened my office door, “I sent for him yesterday.”
Aria POV
“You b***h,” I spat out blood as the vampire’s fist made contact again. I wanted to fight back, but I was getting extremely weak from not being around Shadow in a long time.
The vampire lifted me off the ground by my hair, “You’re lucky I was told I could only beat you,” He brought my face closer to his, “You’re not pretty enough for me to do anything else with anyways. Filthy animal.” With that, he threw me down to the ground and strutted out of the room.
I groaned and curled up. My eyes start watering as Shadow pops into my head. “Where are you, girl?” I whisper
