New Place

I felt groggy, and my head hurt. I didn’t know what was going on. The last thing I remember was walking with Shadow to the training fields and then nothing. I feel something light floating across my back. I groaned and forced my tired eyes open. I expected to see the top of my tent and expected to feel my hard cot underneath me, but instead, I saw an elaborate ceiling and sank into a mattress that was so obviously not mine. The recent events rushed back to me. I was betrayed by the person closest to me. Tears formed and fell from my eyes, and a gentle hand instantly wiped them away. I tried to sit up in a panic, but the hand pushed me back down, “You’re injured, you shouldn’t get up.” “Where am I?” I asked panic filled my voice, “The last thing I remember is…” I trail off when my eyes reach the person- or should I say vampire- holding me down. My eyes open wide, and I start trembling in anger. I opened my mouth to scream for help, but he was faster. The vampire had his hand over my mouth before I could make a sound. “I know you’re scared, angry, and you don’t know where you are, but I can assure you that you are safe. At least for now. If I remove my hand, will you scream?” I glared at him, but I wasn’t surprised anymore. I shake my head, and he removes his hand. I let out a sigh of relief as soon as he pulled his hand. I was about to start yelling at him when I noticed something that made me turn bright red. “Umm… Why are you on top of me?” He shrugged and said, “I own you now, why can’t I do what I want with my property?” he did not attempt to move. “Your property?” I tilted my head to the side and glared at him. “I sent my people to capture you and Shadow. I can now do whatever I want with you. You will pay for all the pain you’ve inflicted on my people.”  My eyes became slits, and, before he knew it, my hands had come up and had pushed him off of me. He fell to the other side of the bed and let out a surprised sound. I had lost none of my strength while I was out. “If you wanted to bring me to pain, then why bring me to this lavish room, and why talk this civilly with me?” He lets out a laugh, “My blood bank deserves some respect before I slowly kill her.” “You’re acting so different,” I mumble. “Do you like me better when we aren’t fighting?” He asked, looking into my eyes. I felt warmth spread through my chest when he looked at me.  I didn’t want him to see the blush on my face, so I looked away and said, “It doesn’t matter what I like.” “No it doesn’t. What I like is what matters.” He rolls on top of me and pins my hands above my head, “And I like you at my mercy. I like knowing I could kill you at any moment, and you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. I like how weak you look right now.” I spit in his face, “Who’s weak? I still have the will to fight, and one day I will kill you right along with every one of your subjects, King.” “You b***h!” Taking his hands off of my arms, he grabbed my neck with one and started slapping me with the other, “You will learn to respect me, or you will suffer the consequences.” “I’ve felt much worse pain,” I cough out in between slaps. Without saying anything, he roughly grabs my chin and tilts my head to the side. I started panicking when I saw his head slowly coming closer to my neck. Without listening to my protests, the King sank his teeth into my neck, and I blacked out.
