Ava woke up to strong bold arms around her, her head rested on Ethan's solid chest. How they ended up in an entangled position was something she had no idea. His masculine scent filled her nostrils. Ava tried breaking free from him but she couldn't as his arms were firm around her. Unsure of how to go about it, Ava lightly tapped Ethan hoping he would wake. But as she looked up to his face she found him staring down at her. She wasn't sure on how to respond to his gaze, “Good morning" her voice came soft and calm. Ethan smirked, while unwrapping his arms around her. “We'll be having breakfast downstairs" he announced, while getting out of bed. " He couldn't respond to my greetings properly” Ava thought to herself in disgust. He walked to the window, with a relieved expression he looked outside taking in the details of the environment. He was off work finally, he thought for a moment. He could actually have a morning as peaceful as this… no business calls and scheduled meetings. Everything felt so new, especially the feeling of being married. He breathed out heavily, a sign of relief as he made his way to the bathroom. Came out a few minutes later, only to find Ava still lying in bed. “I'll be waiting downstairs" he said to her before exiting the room. Ava sat up rubbing her eyes, at the same time yawning. She got up, moved to the bathroom, brushed, and did her facials quickly so as not to keep Ethan waiting for long. Ethan couldn't take his eyes off the tender figure descending from the stairs. Her white dress, short and flare. Her skin, so healthy and her legs so smooth. “Settle in, I'm starving" Ethan said, while watching her sit at the direct opposite end of the table. Ava grew more uncomfortable, the lavish breakfast, expensive wine and breathtaking surroundings seemed to be closing in on her. “Go ahead " Ethan urged her to. She nodded, getting ready to dig in. The silence at the table was intense… They ate quietly, nobody seemed interested in starting up a conversation. “You aren't enjoying yourself?" Ethan broke the silence with a concerned tone. “It's a lot to take in" Ava replied, as she kept her face low. “You're not used to this lifestyle, are you?" he asked in amusement. " I'm not used to being married," Ava spat out, feeling irritated. Her voice came out sharper than she intended. Ethan's eyes locked onto hers. He could see her looking at him in disgust. He leaned forward, his tone low and seductive. “It's time you get used to it" Ava dropped her cutleries abruptly, causing a stir. She made her way outside leaving him startled at the dining. The warm Italian sun beat down on her, as she stepped into the surrounding area. Her mind crowded, “Why would he speak to me like that?" she questioned herself. " If only my family possessed so much wealth and affluence, he wouldn't have talked down on me” she sadly thought. Ethan felt a wave of guilt run through him as walked back to their bedroom. He laid on the bed facing up, hoping her anger subsided soon. He felt like he had already robbed her of happiness, he just wanted to see her happy. It surprised him that he cared that much, “what is she doing to me.” he asked himself feeling frustrated, hoping to find an answer. Ava walked into the room, he could tell she was still sad. Without saying a word she walked to the other side of the bed, she pulled the sheets over her. She laid there still giving her back to Ethan. Ethan couldn't ignore the affection welling inside him, he decided to start a conversation. “Ava" he called out, with a smooth and low tone. He got no response, he moved closer to where she laid and pulled her to himself. Ava's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. “Don't give me the silent treatment, Ava" he whispered, softly brushing his lips against her ear. Ava's heart skipped a beat. “Was this his way of apologizing?" Ava thought to herself. Ethan made her turn to face him, her body pressing against his. “Have dinner with me tonight" he requested, hoping to get a positive answer. Ava hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded as a sign of acceptance. Ethan smiled as he breathed out in relief. Night came faster than she thought, now she had to prepare. Ethan was already seated at the table, looking handsome and formal in his white T-shirt and dark pants. He stood up as Ava approached, his eyes scanning her body. “You look stunning" he complimented, his voice low and smooth. Ava smiled, feeling self conscious. She had worn a black long dress that pronounced her curves. As they sat down, Ava felt a little nervous. She wasn't used to this kind of formal setting. “Ethan was right after all, she wasn't used to this kind of lifestyle” the thought rang in her head. She felt like she was living in a dream. The air was sweetly scented with blooming flowers. As they enjoyed their meal, Ethan asked Ava about her favorite things. “I love blue as a color, I'm into hair styling and I watch and read a lot of romance" she found herself opening up to him. Ethan sipped his wine while listening attentively. She was done with her food, he noticed. “Let's take a walk" he requested. Ava nodded slightly, looking his way. He gently took her hand while leading her outside. The air outside was warm and the sound of the sea crashing against the shore was soothing. As they walked hand in hand, Ethan showed her around, pointing at trees while telling her its history and relevance. Ava listened carefully, she was fascinated by his intelligence. Ethan paused at the edge of the garden, he turned to face Ava. His eyes locked onto hers. “I feel like I'm knowing you more " Ethan whispered Ava felt the same way too. She felt like she was getting to know the other side of him that she thought never existed. She was getting to know the charming and vulnerable side of him. “I feel the same way too, " she remarked softly. Ethan could feel the growing tension between them, he could feel the attraction building between them. He lowered his gaze to her lips, fighting so badly to suppress the urge of tasting them again. Ava swallowed hard; she could feel his stare fixed on her. Without saying a word Ethan leaned in, slowly taking her lips passionately. Ava shivered lightly, the kiss was soft and gentle. Her lips parted slightly, inviting Ethan deeper. His hands crawled to her back, while she wrapped her slender arms around his neck. Her fingers raked through his thick hair. The world around them melted,The cool breeze blowing against them, leaving them in each other's arms. As they broke apart for air, Ava's eyes met Ethan's. There was something there that made her heart flutter, a glimmer of desire and passion. “Ohh Ava" he called out in a low thick masculine voice. Ava looked up, “What are you doing to me?" He asked in a low seductive tone, looking at Ava with so much desire. Ava's lips curved into a smile, h er eyes never leaving his. For that moment she felt a spark of hope. If he could always be like this, maybe just maybe their marriage wouldn't be so bad after all.
