Chapter 11 THE REDAH

In the evening,Beryl introduced me to quadruplets, that was what I thought they were until she told me they were two twins. She introduced them as the Redah and promised they would take care of me and treat me well.

I knew it! I knew Angela's accomplices shouldn't be trusted. She had sold me to these men." How much did they pay you for you to betray Angela and sell me to these men?", I asked frustratingly. I was really frustrated, do everyone I trust have to betray me? Can't I see a person who would keep his words when he says it?

"Peggy trust me I'm not selling you to them I'm just helping you. You should be grateful that you are free from Angela", Beryl said."Doctor Beryl is right.she didn't sell you to us. She's just helping you. Trust us,we are good guys and we mean well", one of the twins said. He looked younger so I thought maybe he was the youngest among them.

Trust them? haa I trusted George cause he was my cousin but what did I get in return? He deflowered me. He kept assaulting me because his mother didn't do anything to him. And then I trusted Stephen but what did he do? he brought me here for prostitution. I trusted Kelvin but what did he do to me? he r***d me and sent me back to hell! How on earth can I trust these guys when my trust has been trampled on?

"Give us a chance to prove we are different from others. We are responsible people you know", the younger looking one said."yeah Peggy trust me you won't regret being here with them. Besides it's better than being a slave to Angela don't you think so?", Beryl asked. Beryl was right. It was better off being here and serving these people than serving Angela.Well it won't be new or surprising if they assault me because everything they plan on doing to me have already been done to me before now.

I sighed and nodded."Dories", The older looking one said and a lady ran to answer him. She must be their house help I guess. "Take her to the guest room and get her changed to a better dress so she can join us for dinner", he said." this way ma'am", Dories told me. I followed her to the guest room and had a nice and refreshing bath, ignoring the injuries in my back. She gave me a blue dress and new undies to wear. I then came downstairs for dinner. Beryl had already left.

We ate quietly, they didn't say anything to me and I didn't care. I just wanted to fill my stomach and sleep. After dinner, I went to my room without saying not even a thank you to them. I locked myself from inside and fell on the bed, feeling grateful. My plan to escape wasn't futile, it really wasn't.

If I hadn't tried to escape, Angela wouldn't have punished me or ask his men to do whatever they wanted with me. i wouldn't have lost consciousness and Beryl wouldn't have gotten the chance to help me. Come to think of it, Beryl didn't tell me why she betrayed Angela and helped me.What she did was risky. What if Angela had someone follow her and found out that she was lying?

Did she really save me for no reason or did these men promise her a lot of money to bring me to them? Whatever the reason may be, I am free from Angela and that's what matters most.

Early the next morning, I woke up and thanked God for freedom. If I was still working for Angela, I would have either been in a man's house or a hotel room or a client would have come to sleep with me. I am free😊! I hope this wasn't a dream.I took my bath and went downstairs for breakfast.

The twins were already seated and having their break fast. They were all dressed up to leave." Good morning", I greeted them." Morning hope you slept well?", the younger looking twin asked."I'm good", I said. " Uhmm what are your names?", I asked. I was in a good mood.

"I'm Almond and this is my twin brother Desmond", he said pointing at the one sitting at my right. Desmond smiled at me."And these are my elder twin brothers Raymond", he said pointing at the one sitting next to Desmond."And Edmond", he said pointing at the one sitting next to him. I smiled at them.

After breakfast, The twins left and I went to my room.I felt uncomfortable not knowing what they do so i called Dories and asked her about the twins and she told me who they were. " They are surnamed Cassio but they are populaly known as the Redah. That is R for Raymond,E for Edmond,D for Desmond,A for Almond and H for Hannah. She's is their only sister but she doesn't live with them. Raymond is a movie producer, Edmond is an architect.Desmond is a fashion designer and Almond is a surgeon.

Okay that wasn't expected.
