Blurb

In the kingdom of Bridgeguard, fate is written in cultivation and power.

When King Atlang steals the golden *Phantom* cultivation meant for his newborn son, he sets off a chain of betrayal, blood, and broken oaths.

Years later, in the forbidden forest of Shaph, a boy named Kitan lives in silence — hunted by beasts, watched by Saints, and carrying a destiny he never asked for.

One was born to rule.

One was born to be erased.

But destiny has other plans.

When the phantom energy awakens, kingdoms will fall, gods will be challenged, and the stolen future will demand to be returned.

*This is the Change in Destiny.*

*CHAPTER ONE: BRIMMING SELFISHNESS
"Your Majesty, it's a boy. Congratulations." The nurse said to King Atlang. The wizards told His Majesty his energy signature. Atlang commanded, "He has a golden *Phantom* cultivation, Your Majesty. This means he will be the ultimate hero. The prime god of Bridgeguard. This is a sign of good luck for the kingdom, Your Majesty." The wizard interpreted this just by looking into the baby's eyes. "Can you extract it, wizard?" Atlang asked, shocking both the nurse and wizard and all four guards present. "Yes, but the infant might not survive," the wizard replied. "Good. Then extract it," Atlang commanded. "Your Highness, this request is too much. What will we tell the Queen, the Council of Elders, and the kingdom?" the wizard hesitated. "I am the King. I'm supposed to be the hero, the prime god. I deserve all the fame, attention, and glory, not this lump of flesh," Atlang explained. The wizard spoke again. "Stop thinking of yourself, Your Highness. What do you think the Queen will do if she hears about this?" "Speaking of which, where is she, nurse?" Atlang asked as if he cared. The nurse answered with her head bowed. "Her Highness passed out. She is unconscious, but she will be fine." "When will she be with us again?" Atlang questioned the nurse again. "She will be out for less than 4 hours, to be precise, Your Highness," the nurse responded. The wizard jumped in, concerned. "She has gone through a lot to get this child. Doing this will emotionally damage her." "It's perfect," Atlang said. "What?!" Both the nurse and wizard asked, surprised. "Yeah. The prince dead, the Queen emotionally damaged, and me with the golden *Phantom* cultivation. My will, and only mine, will be done in Bridgeguard," Atlang said. "I will give you all enough gold to cover your needs for life. Just do what I ask, wizard. Think of your family." The King ended, gazing at him. Zenn knew the King could go after his family if he declined. So he did what the King asked. The result was the lifeless body of the newborn prince. "Inserting it into you will take even higher levels of concentration, *Phantom*. You have to go to my lair for that part," the wizard said, putting the golden *Phantom* in a silver box and storing it away. "Nurse, Guards, Wizard," Atlang called, saying, "This will remain our secret. Not even the Queen should know. I will give each of you a chest of golden dust as a token of our little contract."
