I stood staring at the wall clock in our large well furnished sitting room, well it's almost 12pm still no sign of mom and dad. yes I do know it's usually crowded in Montana this period of the year, as much as I love the spirit of the season, well it's Christmas, everyone loves Christmas but I hate the busy roads, it's like everyone in the city has to be somewhere on Christmas Eve. "okay, If they are not back before 12, I am not talking to the both of them." I said. I pace up and down angrily, not caring about the melodious Christmas songs from the TV. Hearing the sound of dad's newly bought baby , he calls his car "baby ". "finally, they are here ,and look it's a minute to 12" checking the wall clock to be sure if they really made it on time. Earlier that day I was talked into letting them go out for a romantic dinner, it was all dad's idea, but it was majorly influenced by him getting on mom's bad side in the morning, he was trying to buy himself out of the situation by taking her out on some romantic date "mom, dad you guys are finally here, I thought you guys ain't gonna make it" I said walking towards them to receive what they had brought. "oh darling, we are so sorry, the traffic is terrible out there, but if it may interest you we got lot of goodies for you. " mom said apologetically " I was upset, not at you but the traffic out there, so how was the date" I said giving dad a mischievous look "well it went pretty well, you dad is quite a gentle man, your dad sang a love song in a five star restaurant." Mom said smiling and also trying to keep a straight face, it was almost as if she was trying to not laugh. "Mom, are you making fun of dad?" i said as i got up to stand beside dad, i love my mother, but then i love my daddy so much more so here i am standing beside my daddy to defend him as usual. "Here they go, i know you guys are going to gang up against me, but this time i have a recording to back me up" mommy said going through her bag to fetch something, i guess her phone. "Ahahahahah" Okay daddy is laughing, "well it could be our defense mechanism" i thought to myself. "Ahahahahah" i joined him. "Lola, what are you doing, this time we are really toss, mommy got us good, she got a recording of me singing" Dad said starring intensely on the phone with mommy. mommy winked and bursted into laughter. "okay what's going on" I asked, am confuse already. " You see, miss defender, your dad forget the lyrics of the song, literally chewed his mouth through the song" mommy said still laughing. Struck sounds the clock, it's a new year, well looks like i am on the losing team this year. "Happy new month losers" mommy said throwing us both hugs, was she reading my mind?, i looked at dad and gave him a mean smile " Happy new month dad, thanks for forgetting the lyrics of the song" i said trying to get away from mommy's hug. "pa, pa, pa" it's a gunshot sound, am sure. "Mom, Dad" i shivering sensation ran down my spine, as i stared widely at my palms. "Blood, no this cant be right" i said crying "Mom, Dad dont leave me, wake up mommy please." i began to sweat "pa pa pa" I woke up to reality.
