Scene In The Bathroom
Lola is an A-Lister actress in LA. She's famously known as the candy queen, one of her movies which prompted her popularity. As an actress, she was trying to keep a low profile and maintain her standing as an A-lister. She wasn't a fan of social media and all their stuff. She would prefer having a good chat with her family over dinner than scrolling endlessly looking for scandal gossip about her on social media. A white bugatti pulled inside a large magnificent mansion. The cobblestone path and the lush garden along with the huge fountain in the middle of it gave the mansion a breathtaking beauty and adoration. It was the Miller Estate. The butler rushed out of the mansion looking sharp in his uniform. He gave a ninety degree bow at the lady, young mistress Lola. " Welcome young mistress, your father has waited the entire day for you." He then took the shopping bag from her. Lola smiled and waved her hand sheepishly. "Does he miss me that much?" She asked as they ambled towards the entrance of the mansion. Butler Joe has been serving the Miller household for as long as he could remember and together, they've established a mutual friendship. " Of course he does. You're the only one he has now Lola, except for Spike. Sometimes he gets bored and you know, those memories start rushing in –." The butler was talking about the demise of her mother which brought sadness to her father everyday. " I should meet him now. Thank you Joe," she couldn't describe her gratitude towards the butler enough as she rushed towards the dining room where her father was sitting with a huge cat beside him. The table was quiet unlike when her mother was alive, they would throw tantrums and reminisce old moments together but everything has changed now. A man who seems to be in his septuagenarian was sitting at the head table. Her father was just fifty-nine but he has aged more because of his thinking. Her mother passed away a month ago and her father was still grieving over her loss. " Dad?" She called. Spike, who was sitting beside him, suddenly jumped up and rushed towards her. Her furs were pretty and elegant and she meowed. Lola laughed and went on her knees to caress the feline. " Oh..Spike, you've grown so big! Look at you!" She then picked up the cat which was even heavier than her looks. " And so heavy too." She laughed and Spine purred while swinging her full tail on Lola's nose. She dropped her beside the table where her father was now standing with a big smile on his face. He was still looking handsome despite the gray hairs on his head. " Lola, come here, old man has missed you a lot." He said and engulfed her in a warm embrace. Patting her back as though she was still a child who needed attention. " You've grown so much, even more pretty I must say." He praised and pulled back to examine her well. " Dad…sighs…why are you stressing yourself? Look at you now, you look seventy." Lola was having a frown on her face. She was displeased to see him looking weak and vulnerable like this. Although, her mother wasn't actually her biological mother since her real mother ran away a few years after giving birth to her. So she didn't feel much about it but her father loved Catherine so much. She was the one that taught him how to live again, how to love again. She couldn't blame him for being too harsh on himself. " Lola, I know. I'm not getting any younger. The corporation….it has been handed to my brother because he's much younger than me and has experience in business. Your share remains 44% while that of your husband in the near future is 10% because?….I don't want my daughter to suffer." He said in one go before pouring wine for himself while they have their seat. Lola has the largest shares because her father's and hers were added together since he won't be running the corporation anymore. " Okay Dad. Let's eat before the food turns cold." She changed the topic. " Joe, don't forget to give Lola the credentials. It must be kept safe no matter what." His stern voice reached the butler's ears and he nodded affirmatively. " Yes Master." " Lola, I need grandchildren now.. I'm getting old and lonely, the word grandpa is so sweet I want to hear them before I leave this world." He started and Lola paused for a moment before swallowing her food. " I know Dad but haven't seen the right one. No one's interested in me. With all this fame and popularity, yet nothing." Lola was already twenty-five and no one was approaching her for a relationship. She was also a shy lady who would never go looking for men like other actresses. She was keeping her slate clean so her envious won't find any chance to slander her. " That's because you aren't ready. You're always buried in that job of yours. Go shopping frequently, parties and vacations. You'll see suitors running to you." Her father was giving her ideas how to expose herself. " Dad you know I'm s…" " Shyness should be thrown into the bin now. Just like me you're not getting younger." He said and continued eating his food leaving Lola to digest his words. "Alright, I'll do so." She finally agreed because everything he said made sense. *** The sun was already up in the sky, showering its beauty when Lola woke up. She was alarmed at the time she had slept, longer than any of her sleeps while shooting a movie. She rushed into the bathroom to freshen up before putting on loose pants and a crop top, draping a jacket over her shoulder. She kissed her father goodbye and hurried towards one of the cars in the garage where she found Butler Joe instructing the driver on what to do. They shut up the moment they saw Lola running towards the car. " Lola…Good morning." Butler Joe greeted and patted her hair. " Guess I slept too long Joe, you should probably wake me up next time." She grinned and rushed into the car. " I thought you would have been promoted to head driver Kiel, but no. You're still my driver." She teased her driver who was also a youngster. " C'mon Lola, I have everything I dream of. My salary as your driver is okay for now but I would prefer the head driver position when I'm married. You know, marriage is quite expensive." Lola agreed to that fact. She had dated a guy before, precisely an actor. Unbeknownst to her that he was also dating another actress before they got married. It was a bad experience for Lola as she got to bear all the slanders and curses from netizens. Joe looked at Lola through the rare mirror and saw sadness flash in her eyes before disappearing. He knew what caused it. " So where are we going today?" He asked to divert her attention from outside the window. " Anywhere is fine. Ice cream is good, shopping is better but I prefer the orphanages." She listed while Kiel nodded his head. " Alright…let's go for ice cream since that is on the top list." He said and Lola smiled in return. While queueing for ice cream, Lola was excited because many people around this area didn't know her because of the way she dressed. Little kids were running here and there in the shop creating havoc as they enjoyed themselves unluckily, Lola became a victim of their ice cream havoc. " Oh dear, I'm so sorry…these kids," one of the women there felt sorry as she tried removing the stain of ice cream from Lola's loose pants. She quickly stopped the woman because it seems inappropriate for a woman to clean off the stain on her. " Don't bother Mrs, kids are always hard to read." She said and walked away from the line towards the restroom. Cursing inwardly at her ruined pants. " Having kids is quite hell of a thing." She muttered under her breath and was about to open the door when a man in a sharp suit came out from the door. She gave way for him to pass before walking inside leisurely. " Ahhhhhh!!" Lola's scream echoed around the walls of the restroom while staring at the sight before her. The wall and floor was splattered with blood while a man was lying on the floor in the pool of his own blood. The white walls having red stains and the man's seems to be motionless made Lola rush out of the bathroom. She felt her stomach rile up at the sight of a dead person. Lifting her head, she saw the man earlier across the road, walking briskly and she immediately knew he was the culprit. Lola fumbled with her phone to dial the emergency number but her mind was still unclear and hazy as the scene kept playing in her head. Her body shivering in fear and dread. She was losing sight of the man…" f*ck!" She cursed and ran towards the man. Reaching the spot she had seen him earlier he wasn't there. Where did he go? She kept running, trying to find the man and saw an open door. Without thinking or wasting time, she entered the door and found herself in a busy place. " What the hell.. amusement park?" '911 calling.' The emergency was already on the line when she found herself in the midst of men wearing suits after she went through another door. '911 speaking.' Lola heard nothing again as she stared at the men in fear. ' Oh God. I shouldn't have chased the man.' She thought and saw him cleaning himself with a towel. The men didn't move as they were having their backs to her. Lola summoned the courage and ended the call. They won't dare touch her because the police would already be on their way right now. " Hey! You… you…killed someone in that restroom right. The police are already on their way." She breathed heavily while saying that. Her lips were wobbling in fear and her chest felt as though it would burst from all the chasing. " Who's this Mike?" Another deep masculine voice rang out from behind Lola making her jolt in fear. If these men were to attack her, she could defend herself with the arts she learnt from her training. " An intruder." The man said before dropping the towel paper. He turned to look at the girl who was trying to follow him and somehow, she succeeded. " I'm not an intruder…you're a murderer." She fired back and the man chuckled behind her as if she said something funny. " So who's she? Have an idea?" The man behind Lola asked the other called Mike who looked handsome in his suit. " Yes. She's Lola Miller." He said, looking at the girl without blinking. Lola felt wind in her ears. ' Is this man human?' she asked herself inwardly and drew back cautiously. How could he identify her so quickly? " Aggressive aren't you?" The man behind asked and Lola's back stiffen when she felt his hand on her hair. She threw her hand towards the man in order to slap him but her little wrist was caught in his large ones. Staring into those gray eyes, Lola swallowed hard before gasping in surprise and dismay. The man wasn't just an ordinary man but a big wig in LA. " A…Ace Black." She felt her tongue heavy and her legs weak as jelly. His figure towering over her petite frame made him seem intimidating. The man just smirked before pushing her towards his car. The other five men standing walked to the second car while he pushed her towards the car Mr Murderer entered. " No! Let me go!" Lola scratched and pulled herself from the man but it was all in vain. Just one push, she was sitting inside the car with a sullen scared look on her face, shaking terribly. " Take her home Mike, she needs to rest." Ace replied nonchalantly before shutting his eyes.
