The Ruby Promise

We lived in neighboring allied packs which was a good thing, since we were allied we were given the opportunity to go the same schools in a nearby neutral territory that was shared by both packs. He was the son of Alpha Thomas Lancaster and Luna Louie Lancaster of the Moon Stone Pack. It was a very popular pack and rarely had any problems within and they never initiated any wars, they only ever helped out the packs they were allied with. His name was Chase and was only 19 years old but he was probably the most perfect guy I had ever seen. He was very fit for his age and you could always see his abs through any shirt he wears. He is very tall at 6' 10" with olive skin, brown hair and blue eyes. I have had a crush on him since we met back when he was 14. I felt like the only reason he ever talked to me was because he was my brothers friend. My brother, Owen Blaese, is average size for a 19 year old sitting at 6' 3" with olive skin, blonde hair and black eyes. He was very different from me as he took after our father and I our mother. They were very good friends and hung out at the pack house almost everyday. It was so hard being around him when all I wanted to do was take him in my arms and kiss him very hard and passionately.  I saw Chase and Owen walking past me in the pack house one morning before I was headed to school.  I heard Chase say, "But Owen I don't think you understand I can feel my mate near me I just don't know where she is. Which can only mean she's under 18 and I only feel her when I'm here."  I guess Owen was trying to get him to go on a date again like he does almost every time they hang out. Owen had already found his mate and was hoping that if Chase would go out with a few people he might actually find his mate. "I don't understand though Chase there are only three girls living in the pack house two are way too young for you and the other one is Ariel." Owen was pushing really hard this time because he then looked over at me and added, "And you don't feel a pull towards Chase do you? I mean you turn 18 in just three months and I'm sure you aren't attracted to Chase at all." I had to say something so I thought quickly and this wasn't the first time he's brought it up. "Owen please don't do this again. I am not the mate of your best friend we are both children Alphas the pull would be so much stronger I'd know by now. Don't you get it by now he's probably feeling a pull toward the omega that turns 18 next week. Vickie is only ever here she doesn't even go to our school, it makes the most sense and have you seen the way she looks at him she is definitely in love with him."  Chase chimed in finally seeing the look on my face and seeing how much I hated when they talked about it. "Exactly Ariel thank you, and anyways Owen my dad waited for my mom for almost 5 years I think I can wait a while longer it has only been a little over a year since I turned 18. Now if we could please stop talking about this." "Alright Chase I'll stop prying as long as you tell me once you find out who she is. I'd love to meet her. Now Ariel it is starting to get a little late shouldn't you be heading to school you are gonna be late and if you are you are going to piss mom off." Owen always knew exactly how to scare me. "I know Owen I'm headed out right now I was just grabbing something to eat real quick and I was waiting for your girlfriend to come and get me so we can go to school. She just texted me that she was here so we'll see you guys after school." I said while replying to Sophie letting her know I was on my way out. I grabbed a muffin and my bag and made my way out to Sophie's car. She was my best friend we had met when we were 6 and we were just a few months apart from each other in age. Once she turned 18 and found out she was mated with my brother she changed just a bit but the only thing that really bothered me was that she was also trying to help me find my mate. I always tried to get her to stop prying but she wouldn't stop because she knew how I actually felt about Chase. "So was he there when you were leaving Ariel? I pulled up and saw your brother go inside and you didn't come out for like ten minutes you almost made us late. I know you get lost when you see him but you have got to get better at hiding it." "Ya they were both there. Owen won't stop prying with Chase about it but you and I both know Chase isn't into me and I'm pretty sure he is going to be mated with Vickie the home schooled omega that works in the kitchen of the pack house. She wouldn't even talk to me after he walked into the house." "Oh Ariel if you would just let me tell your brother how you actually feel about Chase maybe he would tell us how he really feels. I think he's just afraid to let it out because you are his best friends sister and an alphas daughter. If he said he likes you and finds out you aren't his mate he'd be crushed." "Please stop it we've got to get to class we only have two weeks left and then we'll be completely done with this school. If he really is my mate we will find out in three months at my birthday party, if not we can finally drop this whole discussion." We finally got out of the car and headed to class. It was really hard for me to focus throughout the day my mind was still on the discussion from this morning. Every time I thought about it I'd get my hopes up then I'd just get put down at the thought about not actually being his mate. It was easy for Sophie to find her mate she already had so many people drooling over her. She is 5' 5" with chocolate skin, brown hair and black eyes. She was absolutely gorgeous and I have always been very jealous of her. The end of school didn't come fast enough but once it got here I was so relieved. Sophie and I got into her car and headed back to the pack house we have the same routine everyday after school. We got to the house set our bags in the conference room, when there wasn't a meeting it was the best place to do our home work. We headed to the kitchen for snacks and drinks while we waited Sophie and Owen grabbed each other in a tight hug and gave a kiss before Owen wished her luck and went back down to the gym. We grabbed our stuff and went and sat down in the conference room started some music and did our homework. Shortly after we finished Sophie had made her way to Owen who had a date planned for them and I decided to go up and shower before dinner. On my way to my room I passed my moms office she had the door open and called me in to talk to her. She had been trying to plan my graduation party, she always likes to be ahead of schedule so that if something was to go wrong she could be prepared for it. I had been avoiding her which is probably why she had her door open instead of closed like it usually was. "Hi mom what was it you needed from me?" "Well I noticed you'd been avoiding me and you only have two weeks left of school. I would love to get the final details worked out this week so I can start getting the stuff for the party. And maybe we could think over your birthday party afterwards." "Ok mom but could we hurry I was hoping to shower before dinner starts." "As part of the Shadow Pack you will have a wonderful graduation and birthday party. Hopefully you'll also find your mate at your birthday party that is when I met your father and it was the most romantic thing ever." After almost two hours of picking out a theme and decorations and my dress I was finally dismissed from my mothers office. She was absolutely amazing but she was way too passionate about her parties and always needed them to be perfect. I got into my room and picked out a pair of sweatpants and tank top and headed to my bathroom. My bathroom wasn't very big but my shower was amazing the tub could fit about 4 people my size and I had a rain shower head so it was on the top and felt so amazing. I turned on the water to the perfect temperature for me and took a quick shower.  I heard a knock on my door as I was getting out of the shower so I quickly dried off my body and my hair before wrapping my towel around myself and went to answer the door. I didn't think anything of it because usually the only person that would knock on my door around this time was Sophie. So once I opened the door to find Chase standing in front of me I went bright red and slammed the door right in his face. He knocked on the door again and all I could do was stand there. He knocked on the door one more time before I finally snapped back and responded. "I thought you were Sophie you should have told me who you were. What are you doing here Chase?" "Could I come in and talk to you please that way you can actually hear me instead of through the door?" "I am literally wrapped in a towel if you come in you need me to get dressed so I'll need you to wait on the bed." "Ok Ariel I can do that I promise I won't look I have more respect for you that to do that." I ran into the bathroom and yelled out the door before closing it, "Alright Chase go ahead and come sit on the bed I'll be out of the bathroom in a little while." I heard the door open then shut and I quickly got dressed and grabbed my brush. I decided since I was going to talk to Chase I would multi task and brush my hair I opened the door and went to sit next to Chase. "Here let me do that for you. I love your long brown hair and I am used to doing it for my little sister." I handed him the brush and a couple hair ties hoping he would know what to do when it came to styling too and sat right in front of him "Ok Chase time to tell me what it is you are doing here I know Owen isn't here and you don't usually have dinner with us unless he is. So what's up?" "Well our parents were gonna have a double date and I asked if I could join so that you and I could get to know each other better." "I guess that makes sense but why do you want to get to know me better? There's not really a point to it." "I see how you look at me Ariel I know you like me and honestly I have a confession. Since I turned 18 I've felt a pull towards you. I know it sounds crazy but I think you are my mate and if you are I wanna get to know you more so I'll know what to do to please you and make you happy." "Are you crazy you think I'm your mate? I mean ya I like you and I guess I have always hoped you'd be mine but honestly I don't think it will actually happen. It is just too good to be true." "Please Ariel this was really hard for me to admit I have had a crush on you since we met and though it may be too good to be true I'd still like to get to know you." "Chase stop it you are making me so happy but I really don't want to get my hopes up and find out I'm not actually yours." Tears started falling from my eyes and I was hoping he didn't notice. "Ariel I've got your hair done I put it in dutch braids I know how much you like it. Now turn around and look at me." I got up and sat on the bed keeping my head down hoping he wouldn't see my tears. "Look at me beautiful I wanna look into your eyes while I say this." He put his hand under my chin to get me to look at him and wiped the tears from my eyes and continued. "You are beautiful and I am in love with you. If you aren't meant to be my mate then you aren't but if you are then I want to start with it now." "Chase I think I am in love with you too but I really don't want to start something that my not be true. If it isn't I'd be broke and everyone would know that you were the reasoning behind it. I do not want someone to get mad at you for us not being mated." "I'll take that chance!" He was so passionate as he spoke and he pulled me into a kiss. At first I didn't want to love it but then I leaned into it more and we kept kissing and without realizing what was going on and he grabbed me by my hips and put me into his lap. As I sat in his lap I could feel his bulge get bigger and I started grinding on him. His hands started to explore my body and before I knew it his hand was under my shirt making its way towards my now hard n*****s. I had to stop this, I wanted to know who my mate was for sure before losing my virginity. I pulled away from him and the look on his face showed he was yearning for more but knew why I stopped. "Ok Chase here's the deal. We can take the first step but if at my birthday party I don't feel the pull towards you then it ends." "I like that idea and we don't have to tell anyone unless you want to." "For right now lets keep it between us but we should probably head downstairs for dinner before our parents get the wrong idea. And thank you for doing my hair I really do love it like this. I keep forgetting you know how to do this kind of stuff." "Anytime Ariel, I love being able to look directly into your eyes."
