The Afterlife Was Better

"Will you just shut up!" "Oh because I'm the problem not your drunken a*s!" Ellios plugged in his head phones muffling the sound of his parents fighting. The fighting was constant in his house. At times the fighting was with him leaving him with brusies and scrapes. He couldn't stand the fighting but it was all he had. He didn't want to end up in the system and even though it didn't seem like his parents cared about him, he cared for them. He grew up with them, they were the only ones too teach him what love was. Ellios knew his parents were wrong but he didn't know anything else. There was never much criticism or gossip about their family; his dad was a respected doctor and his mother was a shut in that never came out so no one ever saw her injuries. At school Ellios was labeled as a cults. School was hell as well. He delt with relentless bullying due too his lack of speech. Ellios had selective mutism and was known as a freak. He was always scared of confrontation yet his life was filled with it. The other kids found it funny they could do whatever they wanted and he still wouldn't tell. To Ellios life was a living hell.
