My heart's reaper is the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack. Despite the fact that Dylan Ashford knew that he was my mate, he chose to disregard the bond that we share. The rejection cut deep, leaving me torn between the love I feel for him and the pain of his denial. He coldly rejected me on my 18th birthday, in front of all our pack members. That moment's humiliation and heartbreak haunt me still.

My heart broke, but I knew I had to move on and heal from this rejection. Each beat echoed with the pain of loss and the ache of unrequited love. I, Esra Greene, vowed to never let Dylan's rejection define my worth or dictate my happiness. Although the scars of his rejection still linger, I refuse to let them consume me. Instead, I channel my energy into self-growth and find solace in my own strength.

The universe works according to its own schedule, and sometimes it throws curveballs. Fate intervened and reopened that chapter of my life right when I thought I had closed it. Unexpectedly, I could feel our mate bond again, and I found myself torn between the past and the present. My emotions ran wild when I relived the pain I had fought so hard to overcome. My mind was a mess as I tried to figure out if this was a lucky break or a cruel twist of fate.

My heart's reaper, Dylan Ashford, claimed the second chance. It was a battle between logic and desire, and I wondered if this second chance was a test of my strength or a cosmic prank.

Chapter 1
Today I wake up with a smile on my face, quickly take a shower, and wear my sports outfit. I put on long black pants and a black crop top that accentuated my figure. My hair is tied up in a high ponytail, ready for the day's challenges. As I look at myself in the mirror, I can't help but feel a surge of confidence. I am determined to make an impression on Dylan today by carrying out my plan. I make my way downstairs and eat my breakfast quickly, eager to start the day on a positive note. With each bite, I could feel my excitement growing. "Slow down, sis," my brother chuckles. "You're practically inhaling your food!" "Can I follow you today to the pack house?" I ask my brother, hoping he will agree. "I have training all morning. Are you sure you want to come? It's going to be a long and intense session," my brother warns, raising an eyebrow. "But if you think you can handle it, then sure, you can tag along." I nod eagerly. "I could use some training too. Plus, it'll be a great opportunity for us to spend some quality time together." "Dear sister, believe me when I say that this training session is not going to be a walk in the park. But if you're up for the challenge, I'm more than happy to have you. Just don't complain when things get tough." My brother adds it with a smirk. "I'm up for the challenge," I reply confidently. My brother chuckles, clearly finding my tenacity amusing. "Alright then, let's get started," he says, leading the way to his Techno Metallic Green Jeep Compass. I feel a little scared as we get into the Jeep. The engine roars to life, and the sound reverberates through my body, filling me with a mix of thrill and apprehension. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We arrive at the pack house at 7.20 a.m. The sun is just beginning to rise, casting a warm glow over the sprawling grounds of the pack house. As we exit the car, I breathe deeply, nervous, and excited. My brother, Eli, leads the way, his confident stride matching the determination in his eyes. The sound of pounding footsteps and boxing gloves hitting a punching bag fills the air as we approach the training area. It's clear that this is a place for serious training and hard work. I see Dylan, the pack's future alpha, standing in the center of the training area, his presence commanding respect from everyone around him. His intense gaze sweeps over us as we approach. "What is she doing here?" Eyeing me like a hawk. I feel a wave of unease wash over me as Dylan's piercing gaze lands on me, his skepticism evident. My heart races, unsure of how to respond to his questioning stare. "She's here for her first-time training with us," Eli replies calmly. "This is not a playground, and I don't babysit." Dylan retorts sharply. His words hang in the air, causing a tense silence to settle over the training area. I swallow nervously. "I will babysit her today, Dylan. She’s, my sister." Eli asserts. "Fine," he grumbles reluctantly, crossing his arms. "But if she can't keep up, she's out." The tension eases slightly as Eli nods in agreement, and I take a deep breath, ready to prove myself. So, the training session starts, and hell breaks loose. Eli teaches me to kick and punch with precision, pushing me to my limits. After 10 minutes, sweat drips down my forehead, and my muscles ache with exhaustion. "Esra, do you want to try combat sparring later?" Eli asks with a glimmer of challenge in his eyes. I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I was ready for combat sparring. This is my first time in the training field. "Are you afraid, sister? No worries, I will go very easy on you." Eli assured me with a playful smile. He even emphasizes the word very. "Okay." I nod. "Eli, I need you to combat with Arkan now!" Dylan instructed. "Got to go, sis. Good luck!" Eli says this as he heads to the sparring area. I watch him go, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement for my upcoming match with him. " I continue with my training with the others. I follow the instructions of the instructor, focusing on improving my technique and building my strength. Damn, it is tiring. I can feel my muscles burning, and my body is starting to ache. Clearly, I do not belong here, as my muscles ache and my body struggles to keep up with the intense demands of the training. Every step feels like a battle, and doubt begins to creep into my mind. Maybe Dylan was right. Maybe I'm not cut out for this. After three hours of training that feels like an eternity, I collapse onto the ground, completely exhausted. The sweat drips down my face as I question my decision to come here today. "Move it!" Dylan's voice snaps me out of my doubt-filled thoughts. He stands over me. "You should just go home if you can't handle the intensity. This training isn't for the weak." "I'm just resting. I'll get back up and continue," I reply, determined to prove Dylan wrong. "There is no resting during the war. Every second counts and weakness can cost lives," Dylan retorts sternly. I take a deep breath. "Noted, future alpha." I run straight to the others in the training field, pushing myself to keep up with their pace. As I join the group, I feel like crap. 'Why does he have to be so hard on me? Is it because I'm new here?' I murmured to myself. I can see Eli is combating with Arkan on the other side of the field. Their movements are fluid and precise. Eli moves around Arkan effortlessly, landing a swift kick to his chest. The impact sends Arkan sprawling to the ground. Arkan gets on his feet quickly, his determination is evident in his eyes. He retaliates with a powerful punch, catching Eli off guard. The two continue to exchange blows, their competitive spirits driving them to push harder. As I watch in awe, I can't help but feel a surge of determination. I refuse to let Dylan's harsh words define me. I focus on my training and channel my frustration into each punch and kick. I wish Hanna was here because her unwavering support boosts my confidence. "You're improving, sis," Eli says, giving me a thumbs up. "Nice kick, Esra, for the first-timer." Arkan encourages me with a smile. I feel a sense of pride welling up inside me, knowing that my hard work is paying off. I rest next to Eli, trying very hard to catch my breath. Sweat is trickling down my face as I sit there. "Thanks, guys. Appreciate it!" I say, wiping the sweat off my forehead. "Esra!" I heard my name being called from across the room. I turn my head and see Dylan looking at me with a tense jaw. I turn back to Eli and Arkan and exchange confused glances. "Esra Greene!" I quickly stand up and make my way towards Dylan, wondering what could be wrong. As I approach him, I can see the other pack members looking at me with concerned expressions. "I want to see you combating with Thea," Dylan says, his voice is filled with authority. My heart skips a beat as I try to process his words. Combating with Thea? Thea is the best beta female in our pack, known for her strength and skill. Why would he want me to do that? I nod nervously, unable to refuse his request in front of everyone. Thea is already in the training arena, waiting for me. I can feel the weight of everyone's eyes on me as I walk towards her, my mind racing with questions and doubts. The pack members continue to watch, their concern growing as I follow Dylan towards the training grounds, my mind racing with questions. "Dylan, are you sure?" Arkan comes running up behind me, his voice filled with worry. "I mean, Thea is tough. Are you sure you want Esra to spar with her?" "She should be able to handle it," Dylan replies. "Dylan, could you please reconsider?" Eli pleads, his voice filled with concern. "I don't want Esra to get hurt. Maybe we should find someone else for her to spar with." Dylan pauses, considering Eli's words. "In war, we cannot choose our opponents." His voice is firm. Glances of concern are exchanged between Arkan and Eli. They know that Dylan's words hold weight, but they can't help but worry about Esra's safety. Thea is known for her strength and skill in combat, and the thought of Esra facing off against her is unsettling. "But Dylan, Esra is still learning," Eli says, his voice pleading. "She's not as experienced as Thea. Maybe it's too soon for her to spar with someone of that caliber." Arkan nods in agreement, his eyes filled with concern. "We should prioritize her safety above all else," he adds softly. "She can learn through this experience. Have faith in Thea. She won't intentionally harm Esra." Dylan adds. I look at Eli and Arkan. giving them a reassuring smile. "I'm not a little girl. I can handle myself," I say with a not-so-confident tone. Now I am starting to regret my decision to come to the training field at the packhouse today. I glance over at Thea, who is now ready to start the spar. She looks determined and focused, her muscles tense with anticipation. I take a deep breath, reminding myself that this is an opportunity for growth and learning. I square my shoulders and step forward, ready to face the challenge head-on. Eli approaches me and assists me in adjusting my stance, offering words of encouragement. "You've got this." The spare starts, and I feel a surge of adrenaline as Thea launches her first attack. My instincts kick in, and I quickly dodge to the side, narrowly avoiding her strike. Thea's movements are swift and calculated, but I refuse to let fear consume me. Thea continues to attack me with a series of rapid strikes, each one requiring my full focus and agility to evade. 'Damn, she's fast.' I mutter to myself. Suddenly, Thea punches me in the face with a powerful blow, causing my head to snap back. The impact stuns me for a moment, but I quickly regain my composure. My face stings with pain, but I can't let it distract me. 'Focus, Esra. Stay focused and find an opening to counterattack.' I think to myself as I push through the pain. I duck under a roundhouse kick, narrowly avoiding contact, and use the opportunity to strike back with a swift jab to Thea's ribs. Unfortunately, my jab barely fazes her. She effortlessly blocks my attack and retaliates with a series of lightning-fast punches and kicks. Her precision and speed are unmatched, making it clear that I am outmatched in this fight. Thea punches me on my already bruised cheek, causing a sharp pain to shoot through my face. Her final blow knocks the wind out of me, sending me crashing to the ground. I start to feel my body growing weaker and my vision blurring. The pain intensifies as I struggle to catch my breath. I desperately try to push myself up off the ground, but my limbs feel heavy and unresponsive. Thea stands over me, a triumphant smirk on her face, as I realize that I am completely at her mercy. Every gasp for air becomes more difficult, and each breath is shallower than the last. Panic sets in as I frantically search for a way out of this dire situation. The pain in my cheek throbs relentlessly, a constant reminder of Thea's dominance. Time seems to slow down as I struggle to stay conscious. Eli yells out, "Stop!" and that is the very last thing I remember happening before everything goes completely dark.
