Prologue
I was a total surprise to my parents. I'm the baby of my family. I've always done everything right and never took to many chances.I never wanted to disappoint my family. So, I kept up with my grades and did a lot of community service. It always made me feel amazing giving back to others. Seeing the smiles of their faces warms my heart in unimaginable ways. I was very close to my family. Especially my mom. How I miss my mom.
My mother was a vision of beauty. She had these emerald green eyes, and beautiful long aburn hair. She wasn't short, but wasn't terribly tall. She stood maybe 5 ft 6 in tall. She was slim, but had curves in all the right places. She was breathtaking. My father was mesmerized by her beauty. Her and my dad met when my dad came to the United States to further his education. They had this beautiful love story that could melt anyone's heart. They truly loved each other more than life itself and it was that way even after my mother drew her last breath.
I remember sitting at the kitchen island, while she was cooking dinner, listening to stories of her and my father's epic love tale. She would always tell me how love can change anyone and anything. That's what I've always dreamt of. The epic love story that would be told for ages. I dreamt of being happy and surrounded by all the beautiful things in life. Unfortunately, that is not what ended up happening to me.
My life came to a screeching halt nine years ago. My mother had been sick for a very long time. I first noticed it after my 13th birthday. She started loosing weight and her features became dull. The doctors did everything they could for her, but as the doctors had mentioned numerous times, there was nothing that could have been done. Fourteen months later, she was gone and I was alone in the world. My father threw himself into work. I never saw him anymore. My brother was graduating college and decided to move to Italy. My home because cold and lifeless. I made the decision to move across the country to my aunt's house in Seattle. And that's where I've been for the past eight years.
But now that is all going to change, because now I'm summoned home.
