The Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Director of National Intelligence linger after the meeting. Margaret needs to call the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and the leaders will assist with any questions that might arise.
“Madam President, I hadn’t expected a call so soon after our last meeting.”
“Nor had I, your Royal Highness. But a matter of extreme urgency has arisen.”
“Please explain.”
Margaret brings the Prince up to date and then focuses on her immediate concern. “The United States is collaborating with Turkey, Israel, and Russia to remove Hassan and deliver him to German authorities. We four leaders concluded a lengthy meeting a few minutes ago. We now realize that the situation has grown much more serious.
