The next morning at 06:00, the team reconvenes for the three-hour trip to the orphanage in the troubled Hatay province. Col. Longfield has arranged for an armored bus to transport them and assigned guards to accompany them. Additionally, when Ivan met with President Ozdemir, he asked that military operations in that area cease until the expedition returns to base safely. The President agreed and added that his people would offer protection.
Margaret and Ivan find seats at the back of the bus, where they can talk more freely. An incoming text from President Williams alarms Margaret. Be wary of Ozdemir. Operatives report there will be an attempt on your life. Accept no packages—from anyone.
