19 THE PROPOSAL

"My father never allowed me to be part of the women's football team, despite this, I never let him take me away from the sport". Elsa told Lionel while they were attending a football game in which the city team, Lucien's cowboys, was playing.

"So, what did you do?". Lionel asked, anxious to know Elsa's story.

"I was sneaking on the high school team, I was asking a friend to let me keep my sneakers and my uniform at her house, before each training I told dad that I’d go to my friend's house to do some homework, she would take me to her house, and once we were there we would go to practice and I’d have to withdraw from training a few minutes before so that when he came for me he would not notice that I was sweating. Once at home I stayed up long enough to do the other day's homework”. Elsa continued narrating as she remembered with deep sadness the way she had to hide to practice her favorite sport.

" Elsa, I think what you did is admirable, you really are very passionate about Football, don’t feel sad, instead feel proud because you didn’t allow a simple whim of your father to tie you," Lionel said trying to cheer on Elsa.

"In what position did you play?".

"I was wide receiver". Elsa replied.                 

"That means you’re a great runner". Lionel said with a laugh.

"The best runner you could ever meet". Elsa smiled as she continued recounting her experience on her high school team.

"Why didn't you join the women's college team? You would stand out too much”. Lionel asked Elsa because it seemed strange that she wasn’t on the team.

"Ohhhh! If you saw how that quarterback made the pass, that man is impressive" Elsa interrupted when she saw a great play from the game they were watching.

"It was pretty good, the guy is talented," Lionel replied as he drank some beer.

"But you didn't answer what I just asked you, Football player girl," said Lionel, touching Elsa's hand, who immediately blushed.

"Sorry, the game is quite entertaining” replied Elsa. "The answer to your question, again, is Dad, Mr. Einstein sent me to the University to forge myself as a successful businesswoman, as he wants to put me in command of all his companies, I shouldn’t only be an excellent student but I should also accompany him three times a week to his meetings. He’s teaching me everything I need to know about his business. Every month we visit some mines and he shows me the best quality of precious metals. So, it doesn't give me a lot of time to get into practice or participate in tournaments”.

"And you want to be a great mine entrepreneur?"

"It doesn't bother me, I already know a little about the business and I’d like to preserve the family's legacy," said Elsa firmly.

"Well Elsa, the game is over, I must take you home".

"I'm hungry, first we go to a restaurant and then you leave me at home," said Elsa on the pretext of spending more time alone with Lionel.

As soon as they arrived at the restaurant they both ordered a couple of hamburgers and continued chatting about the game, however, Elsa didn’t miss any opportunity to flirt with Lionel, which was making him quite uncomfortable, he almost stopped and left without saying a word to Elsa, but he thought he was on a mission like any other and must have mental strength with the girl; so he decided to take his conversation to other types of topics:

"The game was pretty good, I’ve never seen the University team compete”.

"You don't miss a thing, Larson, in the entire history of the University we have never won a tournament or competition," said Elsa, openly disappointed.

“So those dumb players are just pretty kids in uniforms, especially that friend of yours, Bennet”.

Elsa took the opportunity to take out her phone and show Lionel the disastrous scenes of some games in recent months, both laughed because the players really lacked skills for the sport.

"Actually, I think not all of them are bad, they are just misdirected by the quarterback". said Lionel, analyzing the videos that Elsa was playing on her phone.

"I agree with you, Bennet doesn't know how to drive the team very well, he likes to excel quite a bit and he doesn't like to be overshadowed by anyone”.

"That boy Bennet really needs another lesson; he can't believe he owns the world". said Lionel a little enraged.

"I think so".

After a few minutes of silence, Elsa came up with an idea that could help the team improve a little:

"I have an idea, maybe it's a little crazy, but maybe it will work to rescue the team from that horrible streak:" Elsa said mysteriously.

"What’s it, Miss Football Player?". Lionel asked intrigued.

"How about you go to the playoffs to pick new team players?" Elsa proposed to Lionel.

"I don’t think so, I’m only going to the University to protect you, it’s enough to have to study again," said Lionel firmly.

"Accept, don't be such a party pooper training on the team you will go more unnoticed" Elsa lied.

"Don't lie," said Lionel laughing. "If I train, I won't be able to take care of you all the time". Said Lionel.

"I’ll go to training, I’m sure that in that place no one will attempt against me. I can also take advantage of not getting away from my favorite sport. You know how much I love watching football matches”.

"You are very insistent Elsa, I already told you that I cannot, it’s prohibited by the organization that carries out such activities".

Elsa was silent for a while, she had to find a way for Lionel to accept to belong to the team because that way she would be close to her great passion and her father wouldn’t suspect anything about it.

"Larson, you don't really appreciate Bennet, if you manage to join the team you can teach him a lesson once and for all". said Elsa trying to get Lionel to accept.

"Bennet is an i***t, he will never allow me to join the team, you know that I’ve earned his hatred for being with you always". said Lionel.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of talking to the coach myself so he doesn't let Bennet intrude on the national team tests, he's not the owner of the team," said Elsa firmly.

"Okay Elsa, I’ll accept, I only ask that you please don’t tell your father anything, because they could take me away from this mission and assign you to another agent."

"I promise, you have my support ".

"When the tests are ?"

“Tomorrow I’ll take care of finding out everything for you, I know that you’ll join the team and not precisely because of my help. I trust that you’ll win a title, it’s time to celebrate a triumph” Elsa said cheerfully.

After Lionel accepted they left the restaurant for Elsa's house, on the way Lionel became thoughtful since he wasn’t quite sure he had made a good decision since as an agent of Grey Umbrella he couldn’t meddle much in the life of my protected, but he found it amusing to face Bennet once and for all, since the boy was an abuser and Lionel detested that class of boys; he didn’t care that he was the son of God, but he would destroy his ego.
