Chapter 11 Jack Ricafort

“DAMN I’m dead tired!” He said tiredly while sitting in his swivel chair.

He was here in one of his hotel in Palawan. They had a status update meeting. Every six months He visits here often for the hotel status updates. Ricafort Hotel was based in Palawan is the newest hotel they have built.

Kaya ganoon na lang kung tutukan niya ito nang atensiyon. Hindi niya gugustuhin na mapahiya sa kaniyang ama. He wanted to go beyond his accomplishment.

He took off the coat he was wearing as well as the neck tie. His work was tiring and requires full attention. But nothing he could do. He was the only one his father could trust when it came to their business because he was the only heir of the Ricafort clan.

His rest was disturbed when his phone rang. “What the f**k!” He cursed silently.

He answered the call it was from his personal Secretary Mrs. Yson. “What is it Mrs. Yson? Is there anything wrong?” He immediately answered the other line.

“I just want to let you know that someone has been selected as your temporarily personal secretary.” The old lady answered him.

Jack heaved out a sigh. He thinks he can’t really stop the old woman from leaving the company. Mrs. Yson often reminds him that she needs to leave the position temporarily and go home to Canada for her family.

“Fine, just make sure your replacement was efficient in work. You know me Mrs. Yson when it comes to it. I don’t like brainless and sluggish people at my company. ” He furrowed his brows. One of the things he dislikes most about at work was being inactive and foolish.

“Don’t worry sir Jack, I made a perfect choice. And I’m teaching her properly to do her job right.” Mrs. Yson proudly said.

When the call ended he stood up and went to the floor to ceiling glass wall at his office. He opened it and went outside. Suddenly he was greeted by the cold and fresh air. There was a little balcony and mini sofa set on the side. His hands were in his pocket. He was standing like a king as he gazes outside.

From his vantage position he could see the breathtakingly beautiful view of Palawan. From the vast blue ocean and to the white sand surrounded by towering trees. There are also sloping cottages near the beach. And a few people wading in the sea blue water.

This place is truly a paradise for him. In this place he feels comforted and peace. The place was really different from the chaotic and noisy city of Manila.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. But as he closed his eyes, he suddenly saw the face of a beautiful woman smiling sweetly. It was Monica. “s**t!” He murmured. He shook his head. He thinks he’s crazy. He wanted to get the woman out of his mind.

Hindi niya rin alam kung bakit siya mismo ang naghatid sa babaeng iyon sa bahay nito pagkatapos nang dinner meeting nila sa mag-asawang Rosales. Maaari naman na sa ibang empleyado niya ito ipahatid. He was truly out of his mind.

That night he was surprised to find out that she had a knowledge about how to repair a ruined car. Never in his life that he would meet a woman like her.

He was also remember the inspections of an Engineer at their Hotel. He went along even though he didn’t do that often every time they had an inspection. He would just try to see if she was inside in the cafeteria. And yeah, she was there. Smiling widely while talking something with her friend. Again, He saw her sweetest smile.

He couldn’t help but be stunned all the time when the woman smiled. There was something strange about that woman he could not explain since he first saw her for the first time.

“Oh Damn it Jack! Not again. ” He clenched his fist and took a deep breath. This cannot happen again. Not again. He would never let this happen again.

He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself. Suddenly, he remembered someone from his past. His painful past. The past that he tries to forget. That was from the past and he doesn’t want to remember it.

Pumasok na siya ulit sa inner office at nagpasya na magpahinga. Mayroon doon isang malaking kama at engrandeng sala set malapit sa isang LED tv na nakasabit sa pader. Sa kabilang panig ng kuwarto ay isang maliit na bar counter at mini kitchen.

He looked at his wristwatch. He still has three hours to get sleep. Later they will have an inspection inside the new hotel.

“I love you so much Jack. I’ll never leave you.” Words from a beautiful and sophisticated woman to him and kissed him on the lips.

Jack smiled lovingly at the woman and kissed her deeply. In Jack’s mind, he had nothing more to ask for because he was so happy in love with this gorgeous woman.

But the sound of three f*****g knocks from outside his room woke him up from the very realistic and beautiful dream. f**k No! It was a nightmare rather.

He glanced at his wristwatch. s**t! He was overslept. “I’m coming. Give me a minute.” He said in a low husky voice. Lumingon siya sa pinto dahil hindi parin tumitigil ang kumakatok mula sa labas.

He got up and took a quick shower. Tomorrow morning he will return to Manila so he must finish his work today here in Palawan. Limang araw rin siya nanatili dito. Sinulit niya ang instant bakasyon dahil matatagalan pa ulit na makabalik sa magandang lugar na ito.

Wearing a white long sleeve folded up to his elbow and a black semi fitted pants. He exited from his private lift and headed in the direction of the conference room. The engineers are waiting inside to accompany him to inspect the entire hotel.

Other employees and guests could not help but look in his direction. All of them are seen with admiration towards him based on their glimmering eyes.

Powerful, famous and Rich hotelier. That’s what other businessmen often call him. Kaya ganoon na lang kung sambahin siya ng mga negosyante na gusto pumasok sa kompanya niya.

His father Juan Carlos Alfonso Ricafort was founded the hotel, but Jack himself grew it because of his ingenuity and strategy. Countless businessmen here in a country and abroad were admired him for his hard work and with his unparalleled charisma.

Some of them would almost push their egotistic and wretched damsels just to marry him. But none of them succeeded in seducing him.

Lalo siya nag-ingat pagdating sa mga babae na pampalipas oras niya lamang. Isang beses na may pinatulan siya na isa sa mga anak ng negosyante at muntikan na siyang mapikot dahil sa pinagkalat ng babae na nabuntis daw niya umano ito. But he was Joaquin Jack Ricafort afterall. The great Jack Ricafort. He will never be fooled by anyone.

He never forgot to use a protection before having s*x with the women. No matter how drunk he was, he never forgot to wear a condom before he indulges in lust. He does not simply choose a woman without delicacy and self -respect.

Binuksan niya ang double door ng conference room at bumungad sa kaniya ang mga engineer na makakasama niya.

“Good afternoon Sir Jack.” Bati sa kaniya ng isang matandang lalake na engineer. Tipid siyang tumango. Kinamayan siya ng matanda at tinanggap niya ito.

They had started the meeting right away and after a while they had already left the conference room to check and tour the entire hotel.
