"Like what you see?" Louise asked with a teasing smile.

"Don’t test me any further. You have no idea how hard I’m trying to control myself," Claude warned her.

Louise drew their bodies closer, her smile still in place. “Consider this a down payment for your help while I’m hunting rats in Los Angeles.”

.

Dianne Louise Morrance—known throughout the European underworld as the head of the Morrance mafia family, notorious for its brutality—was a woman with many nicknames, one of which was “Black Angel.”

Her accidental involvement in the affairs of Claude Vergette, the heir to an American mafia family, led her to discover evidence confirming her long-held suspicions about the death of her former fiancé.

Louise must race against time, unraveling a chain of revenge plots targeting her—all while dealing with her own personal vendetta.

“In the end, it all comes down to two choices: kill or be killed. And I choose to kill.”

“Damn! I let my guard down.” A young man driving a Rolls-Royce Boat Tail cursed himself for not paying attention to the road around him until he realized a car had been tailing him for who knows how long. That man was Claude Vergette. The sole heir to the Vergette family, who had just attended a party not far from where he was now, chose to grab his cell phone and call his assistant, rather than immediately pull over and confront his pursuer. “Stevan, track my location right now! There is car following me. I don’t know who they are and I don’t want to find out,” he said. Claude sped up, driving faster down the deserted street in an attempt to shake off his pursuers. Stevan, upon hearing this, was naturally startled—they were in Italy not America, the Vergette family’s enemies shouldn’t be that bold here. “I’m tracking your location. Try to evade them, I and the team will catch up with you as soon as we can,” Stevan replied as he hurried toward his car, hung up the call, and then contacted the men they’d brought along to immediately give chase after Claude. Meanwhile, Claude continued driving at high speed. He kept an eye on the vehicles following him, they turned out to be quite persistent and continued the chase at nearly the same speed. When they reached a road cutting through the forest, one of the people in the car fired at Claude’s car. BANG… BANG… “Damn it! How dare they!” Claude cursed as he realized his pursuers had begun to rain bullets down on his car. Claude grabbed the two pistols from the glove compartment. Luckily, he always kept them loaded with a few rounds. Once his weapons were ready, Claude called Stevan again. “Where are you?” he asked when they connected. “I’m still quite a distance from your current location, it might take me about 15 minutes to catch up to you. Are you okay?” Stevan replied. “All right, that’s enough time,” Claude hung up before Stevan could react. He decided to slow down before finally pulling over and stopping. Claude stayed in the car, waiting for his attackers. “All right, let’s see just how far you guys want to take this.” Claude stared impassively at the enemy car that were approaching. Soon the car stopped not far from Claude’s. Five men got out of the car, each carrying a firearm. Claude recognized one of them as a member of the mafia group that had been his enemy all along. “Alexis, so they actually dared to follow me all the way out here.” Claude smiled wryly as he readied his weapon for battle. The five men slowly began to approach Claude’s car, but just as they were about to reach him… BANG... BANG... BANG... BANG... Two of them suddenly collapsed at the same moment the gunshots rang out. The remaining three looked at one another, bewildered by the lightning-fast sequence of events, before they finally realized a luxury car was speeding toward them and it was the person behind the wheel who had shot their three comrades right in their vital spots. Out of reflex, the remaining three opened fire on the luxury car, which was, of course, equipped with bulletproof plating, rendering their shots ineffective. CKIIIT.... The car passed them before suddenly stopping not far away. For a moment, there was no significant movement, only the three men who continued to aim their guns at the person inside the car who had just taken down two of their comrades. Claude narrowed his eyes, trying to recognize who was inside the car that had just helped him, he was certain it wasn’t Stevan or any of his other men. “Who is she?” Claude wondered. VROOM... VROOM... While Claude was lost in thought, the luxury car suddenly spun around toward them, and once again, the person inside fired a rapid burst of shots with uncanny accuracy. BANG... BANG... Three more of his attackers were instantly taken down by gunshot wounds to the head. The car came to a stop right next to Claude’s. A moment later, the driver got out, and when Claude saw who it was, his eyes widened in disbelief. “That woman—how is that possible?” Claude whispered softly. Without waiting long, Claude got out of his car and approached the woman who had just killed five of his attackers. Claude recognized the blonde-haired woman as one of the guests at the party he’d attended earlier. She seemed to be staring blankly at one of the attackers’ bodies, which Claude recognized as one member of mafia family Alexis. “Alexis—how dare they cause chaos in my territory,” the woman hissed softly as she looked at the tattoo on the right side of the man’s neck. Claude, who heard Louise’s soft hiss, was naturally startled. “She’s not just an ordinary woman after all,” Claude thought to himself. “Ma’am, thank you for helping me. Are you all right?” Claude asked. The woman turned her head when she realized Claude was already by her side. “I should be the one asking that, sir—are you all right?” she said. “Yes, I’m fine, miss. Thank you again for helping me. My assistant and a few of my men will be here soon, we’ll clean up this mess,” Claude said, looking directly into her icy gray eyes. “All right, in that case, I’ll leave the rest to you, sir,” the woman said, bowing her head slightly and preparing to return to her car. Claude, seeing that she was about to leave, decided to ask, “Miss, may I know your name?” The woman paused for a moment, gazing at the handsome man in front of her. Her voice was firm as she answered Claude’s question before opening her car door, getting in, and driving away from the scene. “Dianne.”
