Revenna POV
I was seething.
There is no way in hell that was my mother. It was her voice, but just not her.
I couldn't explain it, but I just knew I didn't speak to my real mother, only a copy of her.
Daniel is a wizard. Maybe he had something to do with it? He is acting very strangely, and I still know nothing about him.
I didn't feel the pull of the mate bond anymore. I didn't feel sparks when we touched, which is supposed to happen every time. The effects of the mate bond never fade, they only increase.
But how am I supposed to do anything, if I have no idea what I am up against? Or even where I am!
"UGH!" I screeched aloud and punched one of the posters of the bed. My fist broke right through the wood, sending chunks of wood and splinters flying toward the window, landing on the floor without completing their journey.
Small splinters were scattered over my hand. Without realising, my eyes widen and turn completely black. The splinters slowly extract from my flesh, leaving spots of blood behind.
The wood and splinters on the floor start vibrating and lift off the ground, joining the others in the air as they spin around me.
I felt a large, cold hand wrap around mine. I heard a voice, but couldn't make out what it said.
Hot liquid started rolling down my cheeks, searing as they trace a path down my skin.
A cold finger touched one of the burned lines under my eye.
"Revenna, please. "
Images of Dylan were flooding my mind, each one appearing faster than the one before. Until it finally stopped on the last expression I saw on his face before I ran off.
"Dylan?" my voice was barely a whisper.
The image disappeared and my vision returned, reveiling Daniel standing in front of me. He appeared to be concerned, but somehow I saw through his facial expression. I could see that he wanted to smirk at what he just witnessed.
*Are we reading his mind like he did with us? * Freya was able to state what I couldn't.
I still felt wetness on my face and reached up, feeling the thick liquid. As I pulled my fingers away, I noticed the red color staining my fingers.
"Revenna, are you alright?" He tried feigning concern, but I heard the underlaying irritation in his tone.
I ignored him and turned to go to the bathroom. I studied my face in the mirror. I didn't cry, my eyes bled, and the blood actually burned my skin under my eyes, leaving behind taunt lines of the scars.
"What just happened? I've never experienced anything like this."
*Mom would probably know, but it's seem that we are allowed to contact her.*
I flinch at Freya's use of the word 'allowed'.
I don't do well with people telling me what to do, or trying to control me.
Maybe that's caused my strange outburst. Daniel locked my door, then tried to blame on it. After that he staged a fake phone call with my mom.
I took deep breaths to try and calm my self down, because it felt like something tried to take control of me. It almost feels like when your wolf is trying to take over, but it's not Freya. This is something else. It feels the same, yet different.
*Rev, I feel different too.* My eyes widened at her statement and I stared at myself in the mirror.
A sudden knock on the door made my direct my attention away from my reflection. I actually knew there was going to be a knock before I heard it.
I stalked over to the door and opened it.
"Darling, please talk to me. Are you alright?" His voice was dripping with fake concern.
Oh, this bastard smeared it on so thick.
"Sorry, Daniel, I just felt strange, but I'm fine now. Just hungry." I say trying to act normal.
"Finally, maybe I can start training her later once she gets food"
"Why don't we go downstairs and I'll make you some breakfast." The tone of his voice is so different than the tone in his head.
I nod and place my hand in his outstretched one. I didn't feel sparks, but a shiver ran down my spine at the contact.
*That doesn't feel good.*
"What training is he talking about?"
*He hasn't said anything about us talking to each other, or your thoughts.*
"I guess I can read his mind now, and block him from reading ours."
"I hope the training goes smoothly. The sooner I can get her ready, the better. God I still need to attend to her maelstrom of questions if I'm going to get her to trust me."
I tried to keep my expressions as neutral as possible. He cannot find out about what I can suddenly do. And it sounds like he has plans for me. I don't think he is really my second mate.
We reach the kitchen and I head over to sit in front of the window taking in the scene of endless trees.
"Can we sit outside and have breakfast?" I ask Daniel, while still staring at the trees, scanning for anything that might seem familiar.
"Why?" Came his curt response.
"Because, I've been locked up in damned house since I woke up. I have no idea where the hell I am, and I would like to breathe in some fresh air, that hasn't passed through your lungs yet." I snapped at him, hoping to get him to understand.
"Jesus, this woman is infuriating."
"Of course, my love." He said aloud with a tiny smile.
He opened the door, and I stepped outside feeling a gently breeze hit my skin. I ran off the porch onto the grass and lifted my head up to take in the warmth of the sun.
*Can I run?* Freya sounded so excited, I immediately let her take over, and reveled in the feeling of all my bones breaking and reforming. I felt fur sprout all over my body and once the transformation was complete Freya shook out het fur and stretched her stiff limbs.
*It feels good to be out again.*
"Wow. Freya, you are magnificent." Daniel was now standing in front of us, gawking at the gigantic pitch black wolf in front of him.
His hand slowly moved up like he wanted to pet her, and she let a deep growl vibrate through her.
His eyes widened and he took a step back, just looking at her.
"Atta girl Frey."
*This b***h better not touch me. I don't like him anymore.*
Freya stood tall, lifting her head up and sniffing the air.
*I smell nothing but trees and grass, and this asshole.* She didn't even look in his direction.
"Run." A soft voice echoed through my head, and Freya obeyed.
She started off slow, her body adjusting to the feeling of being able to moved again. I felt how she pushed herself and weaved through the trees. The wind coursed through her fur as she picked up speed. The trees seemed to go on for forever, no end in sight.
As Freya pushed herself to go even faster, she was abruptly stopped when she collided with an invisible force. She ran into something so hard that she was now sitting on her ass like a dumbfounded pup, her head c****d to the side. I also couldn't see anything she could have ran into. She stood up and shook herself out.
*That hurt!*
"Tell me about it, even I felt it." Freya starting pacing up and down, and stepped forwards. She nudged the air with her snout, and pulled away when she felt that there was actually something there, we just couldn't see it.
"Trapped." It was that voice again. Where is it coming from? Are we trapped with Daniel? Is it trying to tell us something? Goddess, we need to get out of here.
"Freya, let's go back."
*No, I don't want to.* She really just sat her ass down on the ground again, turning her head away. Like she can ignore me.
"Frey, I don't want to either, but he can't suspect anything okay? We have to act normal, like we know nothing. Just until I can figure out what's going on and how to get out."
She just huffed out and breath and starting running in the opposite direction. Back to Daniel.
"Hopefully she didn't go far enough to reach the border. That wolf is massive, far larger than any I had ever seen."
*Great, we're back* Freya dramatically stated whilst slowing down as she reached Daniel.
"s**t. We need clothes, I am not taking a stroll through the house butt naked."
*Wait, can I try something? I feel different after what happened earlier.*
"Uh, sure Frey, go ahead." I have no idea what she can do, but she seems confident in herself.
She closed her eyes and shook her fur out again, but as she did so we started changing forms. I was back in human form, and fully clothed.
"Frey..."
*I can do magic Rev! I just did magic!*
