We're Classmates?!
Hello there. I'm Sachi Akio Suzuki, half Filipino and half Japanese. A high school student, Grade 10 to be exact. It'll be my first day today. I'm currently living in the Philippines. Wonder why? My dad had some issues and left me and my mom when I was ten, so we moved back to the Philippines, here in Manila. To be honest, I really like it here. The Philippines has a nice culture, and there are a lot of friendly people here too.
"Sachi, I've prepared your bento na, hurry up and go to school, or you'll be late." My mom shouted. "I'm coming at 7:20 am, palang, mom." I replied and sighed. "Gosh, maaga pa eh." I quickly combed my hair and went downstairs to grab the bento that my mother had prepared. "I'm sure masarap tong luto mo, mom." I love you." I kissed my mom's cheek goodbye, as I walked straight to my school. My school is not that far, so I normally just walk from our house to my school.
As I was walking to school, I saw Brielle and Vera, my best friends since grade school. I walked towards them as they waved at me and I waved back. "Hey you guys, first day of school ganda ninyo paren ha, pero mas maganda paren ako sainyo syempre." We all burst out laughing. "Oo maganda ka nga, hindi ka naman na crushback." Brielle responded. "True, beh. Mixed signals and red flags naman kase lahat ng nagugustuhan mo eh. "said Vera. "Hoy, tumigil nga kayo, hindi naman sila mixed signals ah, and babait kaya sila!" I replied. "Mabait nga red flag naman." Brielle answered as they both laughed. "Hay nako kayo, Hali na nga kayo, baka malate pa tayo." Pagalit kong sinabi.
We continued walking as we arrived at our school. We were walking to class, as I suddenly noticed a group of boys. They were about five, and I saw a familiar face with them. Tsk! Jake, the bully, bullied me from the beginning of my stay at this school until the end of last year. I hope he won't bully me this year. While I angrily looked at Jake, one boy caught my attention. He was wearing glasses, and he was also cute. He had the face of an angle. From the way he speaks, he seems very nice and polite. "Pogi naman nung naka glasses, mukang study first, isasagot sakin." I said to myself and chuckled while I was secretly staring at him. Bigla, akong pinitik ni Vera sa tenga. "Hoy Sachi, ano tinitignan mo dyan, yung mga pogi ba at diba si Jake yung nasa dulo?" Tanong nya. "Yes si Jake nga, pero ang pogi nung isa, oh, the one with the glasses." I replied. "Siguro mga bagong transfer sila." dugtong ko "Pogi nga, pero mas pogi yung katabi nya, yung moreno, ang cute pa ng smile niya." Says Brielle "Muka nga silang mga transfer and ang panget talaga ng taste nyo, that one on the left yun yung pinaka pogi." Argh, those muscular arms and that curly hair of his. " Vera stated, "Simps!" "I stated, "lahat naman sila pogi eh, iba-iba lang type natin." After that, we all burst out laughing while I felt Jake's eyes looking at me. I looked at him and raised one of my eyebrows, then I looked away while I rolled my eyes.
Jake's POV:
I looked at her while she was walking away when sudden anger filled my body as I clenched my fist. "Was she looking at Clyde, childhood friend ko pa talaga? I know I bullied her, but Clyde? Why him? For God's sake, Tsk! " I said to myself as I looked at Clyde. "Dahil lang ba pogi siya? Pogi naman din ako eh." Clyde suddenly looked at me as I flashed a smile to make him not notice my envy of him. "Jake, are you okay?" Sabi ni Clyde, as he tilts his head sidewards, na parang confused, na confused siya, God he's so innocent. "Oh, sorry about that. I'm okay. I just have a lot of things on my mind. " Sabi ko sakanya. "Okay then, I understand." He smiled at me as I looked away and chatted with our other friends, and I avoided eye contact with him.
Back to Sachi's POV:
"Let's go na nga, baka malate pa tayo." I commanded. We walked to our class, and to our surprise, we were the first ones there. "Maaga pa pala eh." Painis kong sinabi "Better early than never, diba?" Brielle said while she and Vera laughed."Better late than never yon, Baliw!" We three burst out laughing because of what I said. We sat down on our chairs and waited there for the other students. Suddenly, our eyes widened as we saw Jake and two boys from the group we'd seen earlier enter the classroom. To my surprise, the boy that I was admiring earlier sat down beside me. My heart was pounding at that rate. Vera and Brielle smiled at me, na parang pinipigilan nilang tumawa. I looked at them, annoyed, and pretended to draw something to make things less awkward, even though he wasn't looking at me at that moment.
I turned my head to take a glance at him, but then he was already looking at me. I was flustered, so I looked away and continued to draw. He smiled and chuckled as he replied, "Nice drawing there, miss." I gave him a nervous smile as I gazed at him. "Thank you, mister-?" I said, as I was about to ask for his name, "I'm Clyde Andrew Garcia, and what about you?" Clyde responded as if he knows what I'm thinking, "Sachi Akio Suzuki." I replied, "So you're Japanese, right?" He asked. "Half Japanese, and what about yourself half British?" Tanong ko, "Actually half Australian." He replied, suddenly our teacher arrived causing to break the conversation, I immediately hid my sketch inside my textbook. Wonder what I drew? I drew him, Clyde, the one I admire.
