Chapter 1
Jasmine shot out of the water gasping for air. No clue how she got here or anything other than her name and her basic motor functions. Where am I? How did I get here??? When was the last time I ate...? I'm so hungry.. she thought as she gripped her throat.
After the initial shock of everything wore off she took a moment to take in the sights and smells around her. She looked down to see herself covered only in a thin tan bedsheet sitting in water that was roughly 2 feet deep. She looked around to find she was in the center of a pond that was something close to 20 feet in diameter. The pond was in the center of a clearing surrounded perfectly by trees. It was all a little too perfect... Directly ahead of her was the only clear path. She stood up finally inhaling deeply as she did talking in the crisp and sweet scent of the woods. There were birds chirping singing as though they were angels. The grass surrounding the perfectly circular pond was sprinkled with daisy where bumble bees a butterflies were lazily going about their day. In the grass there was what appeared to be a small mowed path leading to the pathway in the woods.
Without thinking her feet started to tread through the water to the path where on either side a single row of sunflowers hugged it creating a barrier between the path and the rest of the field. Finally stepping up onto the path she looked up at the sun just as a slight breeze rustled through the clearing. As this happened she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Upon opening her eyes she looked and saw the moon full and blue and silver mixed perfectly. The moonlight illuminated the path perfectly; she had to keep walking.
Where the clearing ended and the woods began she saw a man.
"Hello, Who's there," She questioned picking up her pace knowing she had to follow the man. He started sprinting away faster than seemed humanly possible. "Wait, please what's going on????" She ran after the man still wet and she was cold with only the moonlight now instead of the bright welcoming sun.
She ran for what felt like hours till she came to the edge of a cliff just barely stopping herself from tumbling over the edge. She should have been panting but she wasn't even close to out of breath. She felt eyes on her and she turned around to see---
Jasmine shot out of bed panting in a cold sweat. She had had the same weird dream for the last 3 weeks every night. She wanted to know what it meant and why it felt so real. The clocked said 5:28 AM. She looked around her moonlit room at all the her stuff everything the same as always, her cat peaches sat at the end of her bed lost in his own little dreamworld.
Sitting up and quietly exiting the bed as to not wake her grey tabby Jasmine decided to take a cold shower to clear her mind. Maybe I need therapy... Nothing traumatic had ever really happened in her life other than being given up by her birth parents but even then she was a baby and didn't remember them. She was adopted by a really nice family and lived a normal life, now jasmine had her own house at the age of 24 and was a the owner of a bookstore. Her life was average, mundane, unexciting, ect.
Little did she know the dreams were only the beginning...
