I sank onto the carpet and wept bitterly. I can't believe this has to happen on my engagement night with Daniel. Even though we are not getting married out of love, I didn't want to have a relationship full of problems and anger.
I needed to tell him what really happened and fast.
Clara came inside and saw me. She quickly helped me sit up.
"What's wrong, Alyssa?"
I calmed down and told her what happened. From when Daniel had seen us on the beach and when I came to this room and found him so angry and pained.
"What? How could you do that? Daniel hates competition, Alyssa. You've really ruined things and you need to clear that. He might be so hurt right now," Clara told me.
