CHAPTER FIVE
“Go through the damn content and don't ask me any damn question!” Edward said harshly and Scarlett flinched.
She was shaken a bit but she covered it with a cold look. Her eyes went to the file as she started reading the content carefully.
“We will divorce after a year” she heard him say suddenly making her look up and she stared at him blankly
“Ok” she replied simply and his eyes widened like he didn't expect her to say that.
He composed himself and cleared his throat.
“You won't get anything from me, not a single penny”
“I don't need your money” she said, looking back at the file
“The marriage will be nullified after a year without a single payment to B”, she read out, knowing fully that she is party B
“If there is a child during this period, A takes full custody and B must leave without coming back for custody possession of the child” Scarlett scoffed as she read that part before looking at him.
“None of that is going to happen” she said and he stared at her like she said nothing.
“B must respect A during this specified period, you must not be caught in any act that will disrespect A. You must…..”
Scarlett paused reading it and wondered;
“This contract ought to be for both sides, while I'm respecting you, it should be reciprocated. If I'm not meant to cheat, then you must not cheat also” Scarlett said in a calm voice.
“You must listen to me as a wife whether you like it or not!” Edward said, grabbing her wrist which made her wince in pain.
“I am not your wife, I'm just a substitute who will be gone in a year” she said, not knowing where her boldness is coming from.
He let go of her at once and she rubbed her wrist where he had grabbed which was already showing red marks due to his grip.
He clenched his jaw as he closed his eyes, his fist clenching and unclenching.
"Get.Out." He gritted out but she didn't move. She couldn't.
"I said GET OUT!" he yelled as he slammed his fist in the wall and she ran out slamming the door close, scared that he might follow and kill her without thinking twice.
She ran back to her room, closed the door and placed her hand on her chest which was beating so fast like she ran a marathon race.
“Why did he suddenly get angry?” she wondered.
She quickly locked the door and sat there to catch her breathe.
“You have to be careful around him, Scarlett” she said to herself. “He has all the reasons in the world to kill you. One wrong move and you’re done!”
She made sure she left the room only when she heard him leave the house for work.
Edward drove straight to the clan immediately he left the white mansion. He initially went to his mansion to have a rest but he needed to clear his head from his so called wife. It's her audacity for him!
“How dare she look at him in the face and disagree with him?!” he thought angrily as he made his way into his apartment in the clan.
He didn't see Ace in sight, maybe he is busy drilling some of his b*tches in his room. He walked into his room and laid on his bed. He didn't like the fearless expression Scarlett displayed earlier and remembering it kept making him really livid.
The door to his room opened and he looked up to see Minaj coming in, strolling in as she catwalked to his bed side.
“I didn't know you would come back….” she said lustfully as she took off her clothes”
“Not now Minaj, leave!” he said firmly
“Come on… I know you want it so bad..” she said, trying to pull his cloth.
Then he surprised her by pushing her off.
“I said leave!”He yelled and she was taken aback.
“I won't repeat myself and don't ever come in here if I don't call for you again!” he said lastly before walking out of the room.
Diid he just push me away?
“He has never pushed me way, is it because he went to his wife?” she thought aloud
“What has she done to him? Am I going to loose him because of that b*tch!”
“Scarlett or whatever you are called! Await my wrath because I will so deal with you!” Minaj muttered bitterly as she thought of what to do.
It’s a new week and Scarlett has finally decided to resume school today. Scarlett woke up with great delight. She missed school a lot and can't wait to see her friends.
She walked down the stairs and went to the dining to have her breakfast.
“Good morning madam Kate,” she greeted as she took a seat
“Hope you slept well? Madam Kate asked as she served her food
“Yes, thank you madam Kate,” she responded and started eating
Madam Kate looked up at the stairs and looked at Scarlett like she wanted to say something but kept quiet again before going back to the kitchen.
“Should I help you pack lunch?” madam Kate asked Scarlett as she almost finished her meal.
“No, I will eat at the cafeteria, thank you,” Scarlett replied, looking at Madam Kate as she kept looking up
“Any problem?” Scarlett asked,
“No…. Not at all” madam Kate paused
“Okay… Boss is around, he came back last night” madam Kate continued
“What?!” Scarlett exclaimed
“Why didn't you tell me?” she stood up and quickly carried her bag to go in order to avoid running into the angry creature.
“I didn't tell you because I know you wouldn't want to eat” madam Kate mumbled
Scarlett got outside and saw the same two guys beside the car, like they were waiting for her. She raised her brow questioning
“We are to drop you at school, Mrs Stone” one of them said.
“No… there is no need for that, I can find my way to school” Scarlett responded
“That's the order given to us” the bodyguard said as he opened the car for her.
Scarlett reluctantly entered the car and they were set to leave.
“I'm Leo, your driver” the guy handling the steering wheel stated.
“And I'm Josh, your bodyguard” the other guy at the front said and Scarlett nodded simply.
“You can call me Scarlett” she said
“You want us beheaded, Mrs Stone” Leo stated and Scarlett kept quiet making the rest of the drive silent.
"Thank you" Scarlett said as she got down from the car, she asked them to drop her some distance away from school, coz it won't make sense if she suddenly starts coming to school with a car and won't be able to tell her friends where she got the car from.
"You don't have to bother picking me up after school, my friend will do that” Scarlett said
"Your friend is not allowed to know the boss's house” Josh stated
"Oh" Scarlett mumbled and took her lips in.
"When is your classes ending? We will come pick you up"
"5pm" Scarlett said
"See you by then" they said and they drove off.
Lily sighed out, her mouth breeze blowing her hair.
"You can do this Scarlett" She muttered and started walking but then she bumped into her two nightmares.
