Ethan's POV
I try to busy myself as best as I can but everything soon turns out boring.
I tried to get some work done but maa just had to guilt me into doing nothing with her 'I almost lost you.' card.
Basically I was only able to accomplish assigning a doctor to the castle. She will arrive in a month.
I occupy myself with some international news when the door opens and her scent hits me harder than it has ever hit me before.
I leave my phone to go meet her at the door. She doesn't even close it and I'm right behind her. In fact she turns around and it seems my presence startles her.
"You really have to stop sneaking up behind me like that." She smiles.
"How did it go? Was it good?" I ask and she chuckles.
"It was fine. Nothing serious happened." She says then walks to her closet as I follow.
"What about Arthur? Was he there?"
She shakes her head as she takes off her shoes.
Looks like they wanted a meeting with only her.
"So what actually happened?" I ask again and Claire smiles at me.
I'm really acting like a curious child, aren't I?
She walks closer to me as I lean on the door frame.
"At first they confirmed the information you gave them concerning me, then we discussed having some witches brought over to see how they can help with the curse." I nod at her.
"But I wasn't thinking of Blueville witches to bring over." I crease my forehead at her statement.
"I was thinking about the sisters, they're our best bet, whatever or whoever is causing this curse can't be hidden from their magic." I nod with realization seeing where she's coming from.
"So you're willing to ask for help, for this, but not for yourself?" I ask and she glares at me causing me to chuckle.
"This is more of their thing, I feel at ease asking them such things."
Like businesses partners you only want to discuss business with and nothing else. I guess that is what she had in mind when she joined them.
"Your idea sounds great, little wolf." I smile at her and she smiles back before walking back to her closet.
"Anyway your mother--" I don't hear the rest of her words when she starts undressing right in front of me.
Her mouth is moving and I can hear sounds but nothing registers. Especially when she takes everything off leaving just her matching lacy underwear that I want so much to rip off her beautiful body.
I swallow a bit to control myself.
"Are you listening to me?" She finishes dressing and puts on new clothes before standing in front of me.
I look up into her eyes totally lost.
"Yes." I reply and she facepalms. I don't think she realizes she just undressed in front of me for the very first time.
"I said your mom said you haven't eaten since morning, is everything okay?"
I look into her eyes, unable to get that beautiful sight of hers out of my brain.
"Yes. I'm totally fine." I say with a smile but she narrows her eyes at me, not all that convinced.
"I'm calling the doctor over." She walks pass me into the room and I follow.
She grabs her phone and I pull her close to me by the waist. I slam her body into mine then snatch her phone into my pocket.
"Hey." She says annoyed.
"There's no need for a doctor. I'm fine Claire." I smile down at her with all seriousness.
"Then why haven't you eaten." She backs away from me folding her arms across her chest.
I tried but food doesn't taste the way it's supposed to taste. It's like my body wants something else.
That or I left the hospital too early and I might have to go back, because it better not be her blood I'm already craving for.
"Because I was waiting for you. I want to have a meal with you." She looks at me surprised then facepalms again.
"You're supposed to eat and take you medicine. Waiting for me is not an option." She says with serious eyes and I nod.
"Well you're here now, so let's go eat." I smile at her then pull her along with me downstairs.
I have the maids prepare a table just for the two of us in the garden and the chef a delicious meal.
After our meal in the garden I decide to walk around the castle with her.
"Logan said this isn't your first assassination attempt." She asks out of the blue and we stop walking.
I look into her eyes pleading for the truth.
"Yes, this isn't my first assassination attempt." She heaves a sigh.
"So now I have to be worried about if you'll come back home." She says and I instantly understand her.
"You don't have to worry about that." I grab both of her hands.
"You never have to." I assure her but she doesn't look that convinced.
"This isn't my first assassination attempt, but it is the only one that got to me, because they were they same rogues who killed my father." Claire looks at me shocked.
"They were skilled rogues, they knew what they had to do, but they still failed. And I'll always find my way back home to you, even if a shark or godzilla attacks me."
I manage to make her smile at the end.
"If they're the same rogues who killed your father then attacking you means your father's death wasn't a coincidence at all. Whoever ordered their first kill wants you dead too." She says after much contemplating.
I totally agree with her but I'll like to see them try.
"So when are you going to contact the sisters." I change the topic and she nods.
"I told the council I'll have them over in two weeks. I have to inform them first though before they actually come over." I nod at her reply.
