Claire's POV
I remember that inner peace I felt when I first woke up after saving the town and the world from the apocalypse.
This time it's the same feeling again and I'm determined to perpetuate it as long as I can.
That includes hugging my pillow and being in deep sleep for as long as I can, but I have a mate and a whole world to get back to, not to forget the queen is coming tomorrow.
The sleep rubs itself out of my eyes and I slowly stir in bed.
I wake up to realize I'm all by myself in the room until I hear the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.
I sit at the edge of the bed, my feet touching the cold floor before I run my hand through my messy hair.
The door to the bathroom opens and in walks my mate with his towel hanging dangerously down his waist.
I stare at his v-line and bite on my lower lip a bit before looking up into his eyes.
He has this cocky grin on his face and that causes me to blush with embarrassment.
I immediately hide my face behind my pillow and mentally scream.
Ahhh! He caught me staring. I probably look like a mess right now but my poor mind can't help but think of perverted thoughts.
"Claire, why are you hiding your face behind the pillow?" His voice sounds closer and I feel his presence too.
"Nothing." I say into the pillow but it comes out as a muffled sound.
Suddenly I feel the pillow being pulled from my face and I tighten my grip around it.
"No!" I scream into the pillow
I struggle with Ethan over the pillow until he decides to use the dirtiest trick in the book.
He tickles me.
I giggle and he doesn't stop until I let go of the pillow.
I sigh with a smile on my face and stare into his mesmerizing green eyes as he pins both my hands over my head to the bed with his strong arms.
His hair is still wet bringing out his sexiness but imagine me trying to hide my blush again upon realizing he's still in a towel and he's on top of me.
"Good morning." He says to me so sweetly and I almost respond when realization hits me.
"Morning?" I ask rather perplexed.
He lets go of me with a smile on his face before walking into his closet.
"I slept the rest of yesterday?" I exclaim rather loudly and I hear him chuckle.
Oh Gosh, the queen arrives today.
With that in mind I quickly climb out of bed to prepare myself for a quick bath.
I finish dressing around the same time Ethan walks out of his closet with casual clothes.
"How did you?....." He looks at me already dressed and almost ready, perplexed.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I ask as I walk pass him to look for my footwear.
"You were peacefully asleep, I didn't want to ruin that."
On any normal day my heart would be warmed by this gesture, but today isn't one.
I rather roll my eyes and put on my footwear before fixing my face and hair, all with Ethan standing in the middle of the room staring at me with a smile on his face.
"Let's go." I say as I walk pass him but he pulls me back into his arms.
"Aren't we late for something?" I ask so we can get going but he only looks into my eyes before running both hands down my hair.
He places a peck on my lips before smiling.
"Now we can go." He says before grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room all this while with a smile on my face.

I'm dumbfounded when we don't head to the dining hall to have breakfast with the queen but rather the garden.
We find the queen sitting by a neatly decorated table stuffed with food and with only four seats.
I walk towards the table perplexed as Ethan moves away to give his mother a hug.
"Good morning Claire." The queen calls for my attention and I smile apologetically.
"Good morning your maj.... I mean Katherine." I mentally knock myself for messing up again.
The queen smiles and gestures for us to take our seats.
"My son here tells me you've had a rough couple of days." Katherine says and I have to give Ethan the eyes for telling on me.
"Well...."
"I want to give you today to rest, we'll continue with our sessions tomorrow." I can't help but smile at the queen and thank her for her generosity.
"Sessions, she really does take her mentoring serious." Ethan whispers into my ears and I have to stifle my laughter.
"Have you seen Arthur?" The queen addresses Ethan.
"No, and don't worry yourself about him." He replies and I look at the both of them confused.
Is Arthur sick or something?
It's actually been a while since I last saw him.
I should probably pay him a visit when I'm less busy.
"Is he ok?" I ask Ethan and the queen looks at me surprised.
"You've met Arthur already?" The queen asks and I nod.
"Yes, I met him in the stables, he's a really pleasant horse." I smile in spite of myself and gulp down some juice before I see the queen chuckle and Ethan laughing.
"Did I say something wrong?" I ask the both of them as they laugh.
Ethan sits to face me after having his fit and I eye him curiously.
"Claire, this is a different Arthur we're talking about." I look at him perplexed.
A different horse?
"The Arthur we are talking about is, Ethan's cousin." At that my eyes widen.
"You named your horse after your cousin?" Ethan tries not to laugh at my statement seeing that I'm serious.
"In a way." He shrugs and I immediately glare at him.
I can't believe he let me embarrass myself like that.
Thank heavens the Arthur guy wasn't around though.
"Oh, okay. I'm sorry Katherine." I apologize to the queen, but with a smile on her face she says.
"It's okay dear, it was just a mistake." I smile back and plan on ignoring my mate.
Breakfast ends and the Arthur guy didn't show up.
The queen leaves to handle some issues and I'm left with my annoying mate.
"So how are you feeling?"
"Which part? My feelings feelings or you're coming to apologize for letting me embarrass myself?" I basically say the same thing twice but I think he gets the message.
He chuckles and I leave the table to get away from him.
"I mean how you feeling in terms of the bracelet,..." He follows me out and I stop at the mention of bracelet.
"And am I sorry for letting you embarrass yourself little wolf." He adds and I turn to see a smile on his face.
I look at the bracelet on my wrist and sigh.
"I totally forgot I was wearing it again."
"That's a good thing right?" He moves closer to me and I shrug.
"Okay, I'm just gonna need you to tell me if anything happens and by anything I mean anything at all." He says whilst cupping my face and looking serious.
I nod and he gives me a hug.
"Why didn't you tell me about your cousin." Ethan pulls away and exhales hard.
"I did plan to tell you but it escaped my mind. I'm sorry." He speaks sincerely and I nod.
"You guys are not on good terms, are you?" I ask and he nods.
"I'm sure they sent him to spy on my every move." He says with a serious expression.
"Why?" I ask curious.
"They don't trust that I can break this curse." He says with a shrug and I look back at him feeling sorry.
"No need to worry about anything. With your bracelet fixed he won't get anything on us." At that I crease my forehead at him.
"With my bracelet fixed?" He sighs and runs his hand over his face.
"The other side of my family don't know that you're like me, a hybrid. And there's no telling what they'll do when they find out. I need to keep you safe." His seriousness increases.
But the queen told me our love story would be different. I guess Ethan doesn't trust them.
I nod with a smile and he smiles back.
"And please be careful around Arthur, he can be very nosy." He grimaces and I giggle at the expression on his face.
He looks back at me and smiles.
Suddenly his phone rings and he grunts frustrated.
"I need to handle some stuff. I'll see you at lunch." He places another kiss on my lips and walks away before I can nod.
Looks like we are back to always busy.
