On my way inside I stumble across Lydia who looks like she is coming from some training.
"Hey, where are you off to?" She asks me.
"Nowhere in particular. You? Are you coming from training with the guys?" She chuckles.
"Actually I'm went to supervise the female warriors to train." She says and I remember either her or Ethan told me about that in Paris.
"So how's their number like?" I ask curious to know more.
"Their number is close to that of the males. And they can really pack a punch too." Lydia chuckles again.
Wow, this is really amazing.
"You should pass by when you can. Many of them want to know who tamed the big bad alpha." She adds mischievously and I facepalm with a blush on my face.
"I'll see if I can.... who am I kidding.." I chuckle.
"I'll definitely follow you one day to meet them." Lydia smiles at me.
"I heard you had a separate breakfast with the queen." Lydia changes the subject and I nod as we stop at the foot of the stairs.
"Yeah, I did. She's back and I'm gonna have to finish that mentorship with her." I fake a smile at Lydia who listens attentively.
"Then I guess you met Arthur too." At that I slightly smile remembering what happened just earlier.
"No, he didn't show up. Plus I thought the Arthur they were talking about was the horse." Lydia bursts into laughter and I smile at her.
"That's interesting." A really deep masculine voice says from behind us and I freeze.
Oh gosh. Please don't be who I think it is.
"Arthur." Lydia stops laughing and looks behind us shocked.
I become ashamed and hold my breath in a bit.
Come on luck!
I slowly turn around with a small grin on my face but I almost gape at who I see.
Short blonde hair, the signature green eyes, tall with a nice lean muscular figure and with a certain aura around him.
I swallow a bit then look away when I realize I'm staring too much.
"You must be?" He asks with a hint of curiosity in his eyes and a certain authority to it.
"Well she's...."
"I wasn't talking to you general, I'm sure this beautiful lady here can speak for herself." He speaks rather rudely to Lydia and I frown a bit.
"Unless she's a new maid. She definitely does look like a foreigner." He adds narrowing his eyes at me.
"She's the future queen, Arthur." Lydia speaks for me again and this time he chuckles taking a step back for my mind to focus on his choice of clothes.
A simple t-shirt and sweatpants, what kinda royal is he?
"Sorry, I didn't mean to disrespect." He looks at me smiling.
"Well I guess you can call it even now." I shut my eyes remorsefully at my stupid reply but I see a bit of shock flash in Arthur's eyes.
"Who said anything about even? You compared me to a lowly horse." He says still smiling and I open my mouth to retort but I pause and realize he's right.
Well, not quite right.
"I'm sorry but no comparison was done. I simply mistaken you for a horse... and I apologize for that." He continues to look at me still smiling and I swallow again.
Can someone tell him it's rude to stare.
"General can you please excuse us." Arthur requests and I almost gape at his request.
Why does he want me alone with him? We just met.
Lydia looks at me for confirmation and I honestly feel like shaking my head but that would be silly on my part.
"I'm sure she has stuff to do." Lydia tries to save me but Arthur turns to look at her with a blank expression.
I realize a certain alpha aura in the atmosphere before Lydia turns to me looking sorry.
"It's ok." I say and she nods then bows her head to Arthur before leaving.
How did he do that?
I look at Arthur a bit surprised and this time he's not smiling.
"So where are you from?" He asks and I look at him annoyed.
We just met and he's already questioning me. Wow!
I have to be careful not to disrespect him though.
I swallow a bit then smile just a little bit.
"You missed breakfast and kept the queen waiting." My statement takes him by surprise and he chuckles.
"I didn't know. I'll apologize to my aunt later." He says and takes a step forward causing me to move back.
"Claire, uh, I mean future queen." I hear a familiar voice from behind before I realize Stephanie joining us.
"Prince Arthur." Stephanie bows her head a bit at him and turns to me.
"I've been looking for you for quite a while now." I look at her perplexed.
"I hope you don't mind Prince Arthur but the queen seeks an audience with the future queen."
What? I thought she gave me the day off.
Arthur stares at Stephanie before looking at me then nods.
"Okay, I guess I'll see you around then." He nods again before finally walking away and I exhale hard letting out some anger.
Wow, I just met him and I've already gotten a taste of his arrogance and annoying nature.
"Are you good?" Stephanie asks concerned and I nod.
"Is the queen actually asking for me?" I ask curious to know.
"No." She replies and I exhale relieved.
"I saw you looking stranded so I decided to help." I stare at Stephanie surprised and she smiles.
"I'm really indebted to you." I chuckle at the end.
"Okay, how about some coffee then."
I quirk my eyebrows at her.
"Of course when you are less busy." She adds with a smile before walking away.
I exhale hard then shrug.
I guess coffee with her doesn't sound bad.
Now time to head to my room and finish that pamphlet before tomorrow.
