A trip to the past PT 2

Claire's POV The girl looks at me with a mixture of surprise and confusion. That could mean two things. Either she's surprised to see me here again or she doesn't remember anything, so it's like the first time she's seeing me. I'm hoping it's not the latter though. You see after we brought everyone back all the humans had no memory of what happened but some werewolves, especially those who lost someone dear to them, seem to remember somehow. So if she's who I think she is then I'm hoping she's part of the few who were scarred. I swallow a bit and continue to smile. "Is your moth….” "Mom!” She calls out to her mother interrupting me. Mini me continues to stare as we wait for her mother. "What is it? Why are you still…” Her mother gets to us and also pauses on seeing me. Her eyes widen like oranges and I silently pray it's recognition I see. "Hello. How may we help you?” The mother asks me sinking all hope. "Is your husband home?” I ask though it's not important. "Is there any problem? Are you here to see him?” She questions concerned and I instantly shake my head. "No, it's something else…. I'm here to see you. Can I please come in?” She doesn't hesitate at all surprisingly and opens the door wide for me. I walk into their comfy house and she leads me towards their living room. "Have a seat. Blair please get the lady some water.” "No, I'm okay.” I smile politely. "Are you sure?” She asks again and I nod. Blair takes a seat beside her mother and I use that moment to look around, especially at the photos. Everything looks back to normal, just the way it should be. "Is she my sister?” Blair asks out of nowhere and both her mother and I turn to look at her. I simply smile whilst her mother whispers something in her ear. She suddenly frowns then grabs her phone and receives some money from her mother. I watch as she quietly leaves the house to God knows where. "Where is she going?” I turn to her mother who smiles at me. "Out of ear's shot.” I crease my forehead at first until it starts to sink in. "I knew you would come back.” She says and my eyes widens. She remembers…. But then. "Why were you acting like you didn't remember earl…” "She can't know. My daughter can't know. She's a smart girl and I've worked so hard to keep her away from all of it.” I watch her closely. "So you sent her on an errand.” "She has wolf senses. I can't risk it.” She laughs and my eyes widen like oranges. "She's a werewolf, you're a werewolf? How's that possible, you have no scents.” I stare at her wanting some answers. She chuckles then gets up and moves to the kitchen. She brings back a tray of tea then sets it on the table between us. She gestures for me to take one and I slowly look at her and the tea. She smiles again and takes one of the cup for herself. "She's half wolf, half human, I'm a full werewolf. Also we drink some herbs that hides our scent very well.” She sips her tea and I stare at her amazed. Okay. I need to get a hang of this before I end up getting confused. "I'm assuming you want answers.” She asks and I instantly nod then reach for a cup of tea. "Where do you want me to start from?” I swallow then stare at her. "Why are you hiding, why did you pretend you didn't know anything six months back.” She smiles to herself then sips her tea. "Last time I checked, it's not really acceptable to have a human as a mate.” My eyes widen. "Our pack is really wonderful and unifying….but we really have some dark side to us.” I swallow hard. "Now when I saw two werewolves at my house I was so scared I thought I had been caught.” She laughs. "Especially when I saw the Alpha.” I continue to look her in the eyes. "I thought the life I've worked so hard to build and hide was about to go to ruins….but it looked like the two of you were onto something else so I decided to play along.” I smile at her then set my cup down. "I'm sorry you have to live your life like this.” "Oh don't worry about me. It's nothing much, in fact I really enjoy my life.” She smiles a beautiful smile and I stare on again this time taking in the details of her face. Could she really be my mother? "Are you…” "No.” She instantly replies. "I'm sorry child. I'm not your mother.” I swallow a bit trying to hide my disappointment. But she just saved herself from some bitter anger and rage and some huge disappointment. "But I am your mother's sister.” My eyes widen again at the endless surprises. "Her sister?” I ask totally surprised. "She was the beautiful one, the outgoing one." She smiles then pours herself another cup of tea. "I knew you would come back.” She says then disappears into one of the rooms There was just no way I would see a striking resemblance like that and stay away. She returns some few minutes later holding a small metal box in her hand. She smiles at it then hands it over to me. I slowly take if from her then stare at it. She nods for me to open it and I do just that. Inside I find a photo and a locket. I slowly pick up the photo and stare at it speechless. It's a picture of the two of them with their arms flung across each other's shoulders. They're both smiling into the camera and I can't help but notice the striking resemblance I have with my mother's young self. Now I know where I got my hazel eyes and my beautiful physique from. "You look so much like her." I quickly turn over the picture and there I find the date and two names. "She's Victoria, I'm Jessica” I unexpectedly smile at that. "Is this the only picture you have?” I ask trying to keep my voice from shaking. "This is the only picture I managed to save, along with her locket.” I reach for the locket inside the box then move my thumb over it for a while. Instantly I open it and I'm surprised to see a picture of her holding a baby, that isn't me. "I'm guessing you have a lot of questions.” I look up at my aunt. "I want to know everything, I want to know who my brother is.”
