"Our parents were warriors and thankfully for that we weren't associated with the low omegas.” She pauses then takes in a deep breath.
"They could leave for months to go on missions of all sorts. Your mother would take care of me during those times and the money always came in so we didn't have much to worry about in their absence. But whenever they were around…..oh the house would be so joyful and nice. We loved them and they never failed to show us how much they loved us back.” I smile at her remembering my adoptive parents.
"When it was your mother's eighteen birthday our parents had gone on a mission again, it was a sad moment for Victoria because they weren't there to see her turn for the first time. But what broke her, or us the most is when they brought back their dead bodies.” She pauses again looking sad to continue. I suddenly feel like giving her some comfort.
"We buried them, did the funeral and everything but we would soon have to face the hardships of life.
With our parents no longer around we would have to work like the omegas…..but thankfully Victoria found her mate and that kinda saved us the trouble.” I almost smile at hearing that.
If I remember correctly dad said he was seeing my mother whilst he was still mated to Malia…..so that actually confirms that my mom did have her own mate who is probably my brother's father.
"Who was he?”
"Your mother's mate was the general of our time. He was a strong handsome guy, and also well to do so we didn't have to worry about anything. Two years into their marriage they gave birth to your brother, Alex.” I pause at hearing his name.
That's him in the locket photo with your mother.” I reach for the locket and look at the photo again.
"It's suppose to be two lockets, but I guess your mother has the other one.” I nod at her.
"What happened to Alex's father, why isn't he in the photo?” I ask curious to know more.
"He was away on a mission….and….” I close the locket and stare at Jessica already knowing the rest of the statement.
"This broke your mother more than it was meant to. And again everything was taken from us, except the clothes on our backs.”
"But what about the general's family?” She laughs at my question.
"He was alone, and so were we after that. We had to work to survive, so we took jobs as maids in the pack house. And that's how your mother met your father, the Alpha.” I nod for her to continue though I already know the story from here.
I just want to hear it from her perspective.
"He hadn't really found his mate yet even though he was pass eighteen and had been given the title.” She pauses to sip some tea and continues.
"Honestly I had nothing against their relationship, even though I knew it wouldn't end well. But the moment your father found his true mate I advised your mother to stay away…..but she was too lost in his love to listen. They decided to continue their affair in secret.” She pauses yet again this time to stare at me.
”Your father couldn't go on anymore all of a sudden, so he left her, and unknowingly to him, you…….I still remember that night, your mother was so full of rage I thought she would commit murder. I tried talking to her, tried to offer some comfort but she wouldn't let me near her.
Alex was three years old at the time and I have to say that that was the last time I ever heard of him, or her….. And believe me, I waited for her to come back. I waited for her to reach out but it was like she was dead or she didn't care to let me know how she was doing or she wanted to forget her past.”
Forget her past huh. I scoff in my head.
"I soon found my mate then I also left. There's was nothing for me to hold onto.” By the time she's done with her story we are also done with the tea.
I sigh then rub my temples a bit.
I look at the time and I realise it's almost night time and I also find some missed calls from Ethan.
"Thank you very much for having me…” I stand to take my leave not knowing what to call her.
"Call me Aunt, I am your aunt after all.” She also stands and smiles at me.
"I guess you have to go now." I nod at her then look outside through the window, it's almost dark.
"Let me escort you to your car.” I nod again and lead the way outside.
When I get to the car I unlock it then pause a bit.
"Why did you really come back?” She asks so curiously and I sigh a bit.
"I think I've found Alex……he tried to reach me sometime ago through some..... wrong means, he caused a lot of chaos so we didn't give him a chance to speak.” I pause to look her in the eyes.
"Right now he's in trouble, and I need to save him. I have to give him a chance.” She smiles.
She suddenly surprises me by giving me a hug and I also don't hold back but fall into her embrace.
"It's really sad that you have to live your life hiding." I say after we pull away from the hug.
"The Luna and I are close, I'll try…”
"I told you not to worry about me. I'll be okay.” She smiles again then opens the car door for me to get in.
When I do she closes the door gently.
"Go save your brother.” She smirks and I smile back.
She then turns to leave but suddenly turns back to me again.
"Oh, one last thing.” I nod then stop the engine.
"When you see your mother or hear from her, tell her I miss her.” She tries to hold back tears and I nod at her request.
Just then Blair comes to join her on the walk way and gives her mother a side hug.
"Good luck cousin.” She says through a smile and I can't help but smile back.
I turn on the engine then drive away.
It takes a while to bring my rollercoaster of nerves down.
That was just….wow.
I pick up my phone and I glance at the missed calls from Ethan.
"I'm sorry Ethan, but I have to call someone first.” I whisper then put Trina's call on speaker.
