"Where are you coming from?" He looks at me with serious eyes.
"Woah, chill Logan. I just took her out for some coffee." He turns his attention to Stephanie and exhales hard.
"She's not suppose to leave the castle without any security detail."
"Oops! Sorry, we forgot about that." She raises her hands pledging guilty and Logan runs his hand over his face before turning to me.
"Ethan has been calling you. He's worried you were not picking up." His statement has me nodding and understanding why he looks so serious.
"Sorry, I forgot my phone, I'll go call him back." I say before heading inside.
I wave at Stephanie before heading upstairs to the bedroom.
I find my phone by the nightstand and the bed nicely laid.
I try to switch on the phone but I realize the battery is low.
I sigh before finding the charger and putting it on charge.
I wait around for some battery percentage that I can use to call and inform Ethan that I'm alright when I hear a knock on the door.
"Claire, it's Logan." I crease my forehead a bit and walk over to open up.
I look up at Logan confused until he holds out his phone to me.
"It's Ethan." He says and I instantly take the phone before moving away from him.
"Hello."
Ethan sighs relieved when I speak.
"You're really starting to act like a creepy stalker now." I joke and he laughs.
"You weren't picking up and when I asked Logan you were nowhere in the castle, what do you expect?" I chuckle.
"I was afraid you might have ended up in the woods again." I roll my eyes.
"Well I'm okay, you know that now. I just went out with Stephanie." Instantly he chuckles at my statement.
"What's funny?"
"Oh you're serious." He says sounding serious himself and I roll my eyes.
"You've change you mind about her?"
"Yeah, I don't know why I found her suspicious at first. But you are right, she is super friendly."
I can imagine him having the I told you so look on his face.
"That's good to hear, but I have to go now little wolf, I just wanted to know you're okay. I'll see you tomorrow." He says and I nod.
"Sure, come home in one piece." I say and I hear him laugh before ending the call.
"Thanks Logan I'm sorry....." I pause when I turn around and Logan is gone.
Geez, he could have at least said something.
I leave the room then walk to the office floor to look for Logan and hand him his phone back.
I find him talking with Arthur and I can't help but stare.
One of the things I don't like about Arthur is his strange alpha aura. I mean where does he get it from?
I also hate how it affects everyone around him.
He's probably doing the same thing to Logan now.
I continue to watch on closely whilst approaching them in small paces.
I somehow sense Logan releasing an aura similar to Arthur's but much weaker and I become perplexed.
Arthur walks away from Logan thankfully without seeing me and I approach Logan.
"Here." I hand him his phone and he nods.
"Thank you." I add and he nods again before excusing himself.
"What did Arthur want?" I ask causing him to stop.
"The usual, to see if he can boss me around." Logan says turning to me.
"About that, how does he do it. I thought Ethan is the alpha.“
Logan exhales.
"Ethan is not really the alpha." My eyes widen.
"I mean technically he's supposed to be since he won the throne fair and square, but because of the curse there's a division in the pack creating a division in power." I nod at Logan's statement.
This makes a lot of sense.
"So until the curse is broken Ethan can't have full control?" I ask and Logan nods.
"But don't worry about Arthur. His aura only affects the weak ones." I nod again remembering what he did to Lydia.
Thankfully he can't force me to do anything.
"Thanks for telling me." Logan nods again and I smile before he walks away.
That guy has never smiled to me before.
Can it be he still holds a grudge against me?
Or maybe he's probably stressed out.
"Wait!" I yell causing him to stop at the door to his office.
He turns to look at me confused as I approach him.
I clear my throat a bit before looking at him.
"Let's start over." I say taking him by surprise.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
"I mean we started off on the wrong foot and as beta and Luna it doesn't really speak well of us." He continues to look perplexed.
"In other words, I'm sorry for whatever I said that offended you and for treating you badly." He suddenly smiles at me and my jaw hits the floor.
"You never offended me, we did get off on the wrong foot and I totally blame myself. But sure let's start over." He says then takes my hand.
"But mind you. You're going to hate my friendly side more." I look at him dumbfounded before he disappears into his office still smiling.
Why do I feel I've entered a very stupid agreement.
