Photosynthesis Henry, seated on the dresser, focused his piercing gooseberry green eyes. Teddy woke. He had a dream to remem­ber, but nothing returned to him. Suddenly, Henry leapt over his head and scampered out the door. Teddy settled back into bed, and then it hit him like a wild pitch. He re­mem­bered his bed turning into hard gray rock that stretched beyond the horizon. He remembered the darkness rushing in all directions from the black rock, the rain, the river springing forth with life, and a faint red pulsing light filling the sky.
