Teddy remembered parts of his dream, but couldn't piece it all together. Something about the desert, a pyramid, a bird and a cat played in his mind, but the meaning eluded him. He felt deeply refreshed and somehow changed. It reminded him of the sleep he had had after experiencing the power of the hidden amulets. Who were these ancient Egyptians?

At lunch, Teddy and Tem read part of The First Book of Tales of Ancient Egypt. It told of the ancient Egyptians' love for life, and their desire to continue their lives in the field of reeds after their deaths. This love for life was the motivation to preserve their bodies through mummification.
