Josh’s voice echoed through Abbie’s head. Those words did nothing but crush her. She felt like her heart just smashed into thousands of pieces. Tears slowly slid down her cheeks and she knew there was no point in wiping them away because they just coming.
How could this s**t happen to her?! She understood he wasn’t ready to be a dad, but it was so shocking that he actually wanted a divorce!
She went to Josh’s office and tried to keep her cool. “Josh...”
“Abbie, leave my f*****g office.”
“Please don’t do this to me.”
Josh looked at her and scowled. “Don’t do this to you? What did you expect me to do, Abbie? Forgive you?”
She knew he wasn’t ready to have a kid, but he had to be there for her and the child. “Josh...”
“You f*****g cheated on me!”
“I didn’t!”
“Really...”
He took something off of his desk and slid it towards me. “Maybe this will be a reminder.”
She picked up the photo and gasped. Who the f**k would photoshop this photo?! And secondly, how the hell could Josh actually believe that the photo was real?! This photo of my face was taken when I turned 18. I’m almost 26 f*****g years old now!
The guy in the background immediately popped out as well. It was Dave: the boy she had a crush on for 7 years, but she never told Josh that. She still remembered what really happened: It was a party at his buddy’s house and they drank a little too much, causing them to not even knowing what the hell they were doing. Hell, she still regrets that to this day.
Abbie took a tissue off of Josh’s desk and went to the mirror in the corner of his office, neatly fixing her smudged mascara. The only solution she had left was to make Josh never forget the way he betrayed her like this, believing that the photograph was actually real. Whoever did the editing knew EXACTLY what they were doing!
And when she finds out who made the picture, they are in for a real treat. They’ll regret doing what they did to sabotage her and Josh’s marriage.
*** Two days later: Josh finished up a meeting and found a neatly typed written note on his desk.
He picked it up and raised his eyebrows as he read it: Dear Mr. Davidson, as interesting has it been to work with you, I have made a decision to leave this business. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to want to slap you across your smug face right now, but I’m being kind and I won’t do so. Don’t make this harder than it has to be darling. I will see you in court in 2 days.
Sincerely, Abbie Morse Davidson.
Josh couldn’t believe what he was reading right now. Rather than what he was feeling. They fall madly in love and got married (although she f****d that part up), they built this company to the top together. Her leaving will make the company plummet.
The idea of her not being in his life made him actually upset. This made him actually want to forgive her and talk this out, but it was too late. She would no longer be next to him in their bed and he would most likely go back to his old ways, sleeping with every girl that finds him attractive to try and replace the emotions he has for Abbie.
Clenching the note, he ripped it up and threw it in the trash, staring at the photo of him and Abbie at their wedding. Angrily, he picked the photo up and smashed the glass frame on the floor. Suddenly, he heard his door opened and he grumbled, “What.”
His assistant Stacy stood in the doorway, looking at him. “Is something wrong?”
“I’m f*****g fine. Cancel all my meetings for the rest of the day. I have some s**t I need to take care of.”
