I turn to growl low at Renwick and Reign. "Do not touch her. She is my mate and I barely have control of Asmo right now and I cant be sure what he will do if you touch her." Reign queries, "Are you serious? Your mate? Are you sure?" I tell them, smiling, "Yes, me and Asmo are positive that our mate is the person we are all smelling," but then I notice that she is bleeding. I start sprinting as quickly as I can. My body trembles, going rigid with rage at what I witness. Although she is the most stunning lady I have ever seen, Asmo and I desire retribution because of the knife protruding from her stomach and the cuts and bruises all over her body. Right now. Renwick remarks, "Holy s**t. Someone really did a number on this poor girl." I let out a yell of pain that makes both of my pals bowed their heads. I had no choice but to track down the asshole who had hurt my partner, or I would go hunting right now. Renwick says, "Alpha, calm down," in a soothing voice. "CALM DOWN? You want me calm down? That is my MATE, and someone tried to f*****g kill her! Do not tell me to calm down. Im using every ounce of strength I have to keep Asmo from taking over to go hunting and ripping the person who did this to pieces," I inform him. "Alpha, we understand that you are pissed. We are pissed as well. Thats our future Luna. But she needs you. Your mate needs you to be calm and take care of her so she can survive. So, you need to take a deep breath, calm down, and figure out the next step so she can live," Reign says with a calm voice. Eventually, his words pierce through my red fog of rage. I inhale deeply and get peaceful. Asmo withdraws enough into my consciousness to allow me to tend to our mate. I drop to my knees beside her and brush a strand of her dark hair off her face. Goddess, how lovely she is. I inhaled deeply and noticed that the two unidentified male wolves smelled like the Blood Moon Pack. Asmo growls, but I stomp him back down. I delicately lift my friend off the ground by placing one arm beneath her knees and the other under her back. I take care not to touch the knife as she nestles into my chest. I just stare down at my gorgeous partner. She has freckles all over her face, despite the scrapes and bruises, and I notice that. As we make our way back to the pack house, I wonder what color her eyes are. The pack doctor is mind-linked by Reign to come meet us at the house. As I pull my angel a bit nearer, she lets out a small cry and utters a word that sounds like "MATE." I feel the sparks going through her head and my lips as I push them on her temple. I'm happy that I've at last met my true love and second chance. Meant for me, the mate. Goddess, I hope I'm welcomed. I'm already falling in love with her, therefore I really hope we can be happy together. My wife snuggles closer to my neck and sighs as I place my lips to her ear and say, "Dont worry my beautiful mate, I am here now, and I promise to take care of you like you deserve. You are safe now, my love." She could become accustomed to being in my arms. It seems natural to me. It's like returning home. Alpha Phill's perspective As I watch the decorations being put up, I scan my pack house's living room. Deneea James's eighteenth birthday party is tonight. I chose to host the celebration only for her. She hasn't met her wolf yet, though I have some theories as to why not; she has always been to me like a daughter, so I thought she should be treated especially on her special day. While I was immersed in my thoughts, my son Derrick and his two closest friends, Ryan and Ransley, entered via the sliding glass door to the back porch. They come to a sudden halt, quit cutting each other up and laughing, and turn to see the entire party scene. Derrick says, "Hey dad, whats going on here?" "We are setting up for Deneeas birthday party. I told you about it last week remember?" Though I brush it off, I swear I saw horror pass across his features. I must be worn out. "Actually, have any of you seen her? I need to ask her some questions before the party," I say to the boys. Ransley turns to face the floor as all color drains from his face. Ryan spins around to face Derrick. Derrick responds on their behalf, stating that they haven't seen her since before school. These are some strange habits. They wave them off fast, but I just brush it off as strange. I'll solve it after the party, later. I attempt to mind-link Deneea, but a block is thrown up. That is strange. Perhaps she's preoccupied. I suppose I'll give her parents a try. Is Deneea home, Julie? I ask Deneea's mother, "I have some things I want to talk to her about before the party." I mind-connect Deneea's father, her mate, since she doesn't say anything but is pushing her feelings over the link, which are only despair and dread. "Todd, how are things going?" Julie seemed depressed and afraid after I attempted to connect with Deneea, but she didn't respond.I beg him fervently. "No." When I called the school, they informed me that Deneea had not been in class all day since she had not returned home. which, as you know, is quite unlike her. He claims, "I can no longer feel her through our family bond and she isn't answering anyone's mind link." My dread that anything has happened to Deneea is growing along with my wrath. "I'll start searching for her right away." And I swear to Todd that I will bring her home. I've mind-linked Sam, my beta. Enter my office right now!I snarl. "Yes, Alpha," he answers without delay. Sam opens the door and settles into the leather chair across from me as soon as I take a seat in my chair behind my desk. "What's going on, Alpha?" he asks. "Deneea James never came home from school and apparently wasnt there at all today. Which you know is very out of character for her. We need to find her, now. Go to the school and look around. See what you can find," I said in an alpha voice. It lets him know I'm not having fun. He answers, "Yes, Alpha. I hope she is okay. She is like a daughter to many of us. We will find her," as he quickly leaves my office. After that, I instruct my gamma, Travis, to mind-link to my office. A few minutes later, he appears, and I give him the same explanation. His face is displaying his wrath. Deneea and him are similar to best buddies. I advise him to visit her parents' place and ask them to provide him with Deneea's precise location and time of disappearance so that a chronology of her disappearance may be created. "If something has happened to my best friend, whoever is responsible better learn to run because I will kill them. I don't care who they are," he murmurs as he turns to leave. I recline in my chair with a sigh. I must have my partner. This is too personal to be true. Telling Luna Caroline I need her, I mink-link her. She enters my office, perches on my knee, and I tell her what transpired with Deneea. Because we both think of Deneea as an extra daughter, she gets sad, so we just sit there and console each other. After ten minutes or so, Sam sends an update via mind-link to Luna, Travis, and myself. "Alpha, I'm afraid I have some very bad news." Following Deneea's smell to an empty Chemistry classroom upon my arrival at the school, I discovered her suitcase and all of her personal stuff on the floor, where it appeared that there had been a struggle. This is where things become nasty, Alpha," he continues tensely, "I went to the security office after finding her stuff and examined the film from this morning." Sam, spit it out. I give an order with my alpha aura now. Deneea is seen being led by Ryan, Derrick, and Ransley out of the school's side door and into the woodland at 8:37 this morning. She appears to be totally lost, Sir, and was leering over Ryan's shoulder. I let forth a furious shout. my own child. This has to have a reason behind it. He didn't do anything to harm her in any manner. My wolf, Jerricho, replies, "You know as well as I do that our pup somehow became psycho." I use my wolf to break the connection. Right now, I can't handle him. "Travis, Sam, come back here immediately." We require answers to a few questions. "Yes, Alpha," each of them responds. Alpha Phill's perspective I'm standing in the pack house's backyard with six warrior wolves, Luna, Caroline, Travis, and Sam. I mentally connect all of them. "Ransley Burton, Ryan Patterson, and Derek Heinrich." You three need to meet in the packhouse's backyard immediately! Tell any member of the pack who spots these youngsters that this is a demand rather than a request. While we wait for the boys to arrive, we all stand. After walking about for fifteen minutes, they eventually enter the backyard. Derrick and Ryan seeming to care less about anything. Ransley appears to be about to pass out and is as pale as a ghost. He is aware of the situation. Derrick looks up at me and says, "Dad, what's going on? What is this?" I adopt an assertive tone and utter: "You three are here because at 8:37 this morning, you are all seen carrying a limp Deneea James out of the school and she never returned. You all are going to tell me what happened to her or so help the goddess, I will let my wolf unleash his anger on you."
