“I'm sorry Sir, she refused to wait behind,” the secretary said as she walked hurriedly behind Verena. “It's okay, you can go,” Vincent said to her, she left immediately without looking back. Verena almost put her troubles by badging into Vincent's office without knocking or an appointment. Her job was definitely at stake. “Oh! I guess I interrupted an office romance?” Verena blurted out as she looked Marie from head to toe, giving her a deadly look. Vincent had stepped back from Marie immediately the door flagged open. Marie almost lost her breath at the site of Verena. From the look on their faces. They thought she had long gone. “Why are you back? Thought you left?” Vincent said to her, tucking his hands in his pocket. Verena just stared at him with a dangerous smile and then turned towards Marie. “Verena, don't create a scene here!” he said quietly. Marie excused herself and turned to rush off but Verena's voice stopped her, “So this is all you've got! Seducing him in the office, Huh!” She said moving close towards Marie who found her courage and stood without shaking. Afterall, there was nothing going on between them so she didn't need to panic. And she had no right to humiliate her twice in an hour, she wouldn't take that from her. Marie scoffed, without saying a word. She placed her both hands on her waist, waving her head. “I guess this was how you flirted and ended up a single mother! Your baby daddy couldn't even look at you twice.” Verena finally said, hitting the nail because that was when Marie flared up. “Shut up ur filthy mouth! You can insult me however you want, but don't you ever bring my son into your madness!” She yelled at her uncontrollably. “I kept quiet the other times doesn't mean I'm dumb or probably don't know how to handle you,” Verena bursted out laughing. Vincent raised his eyebrows at Marie's outburst. “Or what? You can't do anything! You silly piece of s**t!” Verena growled, her jealousy increasing at its peak. “I dare you! Try me and see how it ends!” Marie backed, her voice trembling with anger. Vincent was trying to calm both of them down but they both were deaf for the moment. “b***h! You and your son are a bunch of…….” Paaaaaa. Marie's slap echoed in the room, making Verena stumble backwards, her hands on her cheeks. “Girl! I don't joke with my baby, watch your mouth. This is not the Marie you know from years ago, things have changed. So whenever you see me keep quiet just know that I choose to, don't push it!” She fired her, hissed loudly and left the room without looking backwards. WTF?! “Did that b***h just slap me?” Verena threw after Marie had gone. But there was no response. She was so embarrassed, her other fist tightening. “Wait! She's got some balls!” Verena thought to herself. Vincent was lost in confusion and amusement. He never imagined Marie would do such a thing. She had always been the one begging and apologizing over the years. Even when she is purely right, she would always apologize to make peace. But this version of Marie is worth questioning. Vincent was lost in so many thoughts, as he stare at Verena who was covered in shame. “So you stand there like a log of wood, and watch that b***h lay hands on me,” she backed at Vincent, her face had gone red and her eyes tearing up. “f**k! You are such an asshole, we've been together all this years and you still like this?” “Well! Maybe if you had watched ur mouth like she warned, the embarrassment wouldn't had been much!” Vincent retorted, turning towards his seat, to hid his facial expression at that moment. She needed her to cooperate with all the signed contracts. “What the hell! You are actually supporting that b***h?” She yelled at him, she hissed under her breath. “I'm not supporting anyone, just saying you could have left her baby out of the whole charades.” Vincent implied calmly, not wanting to attract anymore reactions from her. He knows how Verena can be when she is angry, or loses at something. Verena took out her mirror and adjusted her makeup. Adjusted her dress too and moved towards Vincent who was already sitting down. Verena smashed her right hand on his table, Vincent knew there was trouble. “Tell your b***h of a stepsister and your half lover! She just opened a s**t she can't close,” she fired, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Don't do anything stupid, Verena!” Vincent muttered. “Watch me!”
