CALI: [W-what is that?! Did it just called me a friend?!]
UNKNOWN: I see you left your d-door open for visitors. I feel so... W-welcomed!
CALI: [It's breathing so hard, I can feel the wind and the heat it on my face! I should do something!]
UNKNOWN: I-I would be p-pleased to be seen by a young man like y-you! Open those eyes for me!
CALI: [I hear bones cracking! It sounded like it's hands. It seems like it's about to grab me?!]
UNKNOWN: I know you can h-hear me. Let's say, I'll open them?! Don't worry.
THE MONSTER MOVED CLOSER AND WHISPERED ON MY EAR.
UNKNOWN: I'LL BE GENTLE!
AS SOON AS THE MONSTER GOT ANY CLOSER, CALI RUSHED TO THE SIDE OF HIS BED, OPENING HIS LAMP AND GRABING HIS POCKET KNIFE. HE TURNED BACK TO WHERE HE THINKS THE MONSTER WAS BUT IS ONLY REVEALED THAT CALI WAS THE ONLY ONE INSIDE HIS ROOM.
CALI: What?!
IT WASN'T THERE ANYMORE. THE MONSTER VANISHED LIKE IT NEVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. IT LEFT CALI SPEECHLESS.
CALI: [How the hell did it just disappear? Am I freaking dreaming?! I'm going insane! Am I just seeing things? No this can't be! W-what is that thing?!]
CALI WAS LEFT WITH CONFUSION AS HE CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE SITUATION. HE THEN OVERTHINKS WHAT MAY HAPPEN NEXT IF HE DON'T SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
CALI: [I should tell mom and dad. May be they would... No, I should deal with it myself.]
CALI WENT BACK TO BED BUT REFUSED TO TURN OF HIS LAMP. HE WAS SCARED THAT SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPEN SO HE HOLD ONTO HIS KNIFE FOR SAFETY.
CALI: [Why was that thing after me? It sounded like it was desperate to be seen. How did this all happen?]
CALI WAS LEFT THINKING. HE CAN'T SLEEP ALL NIGHT BEING BOTHERED BY WHAT HAPPENED. HOURS PASSED AND HIS ALARM WENT OFF.
*ALARM SOUND*
HE TURNS IT OFF AND COVERS HIMSELF WITH A PILLOW. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, HIS MOM ENTERS THE ROOM AND FOLDS THE CURTAINS.
CHERRY: Wake up lazy pie! It's time to eat breakfast!
CALI: [I feel so weak. I don't feel like eating, but mom would kill me this time. I still don't want to get up]
CHERRY: Hey! Are you okay? You don't look too good. Did you get enough sleep?
CALI: No, I'm okay. I just had something to deal with last night.
CHERRY: It sure must be something important for you huh?
CALI: [Or I'm the one important to it? I shoudn't think about this right now.]
CALI: Yeah... I guess.
CHERRY: Now get that lazy attitude off yours and go downstairs to eat breakfast.
CALI WENT DOWNSTAIRS BUT WAS SURPRISED NOT SEEING THE PRESENCE OF HIS DAD AT THE TABLE. HE USUALLY SITS THERE BEFORE CALI DOES AND WOULD GREET HIM ON THE WAY DOWN.
CALI: Hey mom! Have you seen dad?
CHERRY: He told me that he was going to see someone earlier. It seemed like he was on a rush.
CALI: Didn't he tell you where he was exactly going?
CHERRY: No, he didn't mention a thing. It looked like it was so important that I didn't even bother to ask.
CALI: [Where could've he gone? Forget about it. I need to get breakfast or I'll be late.]
CALI WAVED GOODBYE TO HIS MOM AND ENTERED THE BUS. HE SITS WHERE HE DOES USUALLY AND START TO THINK ABOUT LAST NIGHT BUT WAS CUT OFF WHEN SOMEONE SUDDENLY SITS BESIDE HIM.
AKI: Hey! Can I sit beside you?
CALI: Don't bother to ask, you already did it.
AKI: Have you heard about what happened to Ayana? I heard she passed the Artist Camp Auditions yesterday.
CALI: So?
AKI: I wish I was her. Beautiful, talented, has a lovely voice. But remove the part where she uses it to flirt with boys. I hate it when she does that.
CALI: You're just jealous because she can get boys so easily.
AKI: No I'm not... So you're one of them huh?
CALI: One of what?
AKI: Those guys she can get so easily. You're one of them?
CALI: N-no! Why would I?
AKI: Well you sound like one. Plus she's just one table apart from you so she might have flirted with you already.
CALI: And what if she did? What's with it to you?
AKI: W-why would I care? Ugh! You annoy me too much! I'm gonna switch seats.
CALI: Hey I'm just kidding.
CALI: [She still continued to change her seat but I felt her jealousy coming out from her face when I mentioned those things about Ayana. It made me feel kind of selfish but it totally made my day.]
THE BUS ARRIVED AT THE SCHOOL AND STUDENTS ARE GETTING PREPARED BEFORE THE CLASS STARTS. CALI STOPS BY AT THE CAFETERIA TO BUY A CUP OF COFFEE TO MAKE HIM ENERGIZED A BIT MORE. SOMEBODY COMES UP FROM BEHIND AND GREETS HIM.
AYANA: Hi Ali!
CALI: The name's Cali, and why are you here at the cafeteria so early? Aren't you supposed to be strict when it comes to eating?
AYANA: I'm not here to stuff up. I've been wondering if you'd like to come with me at my mother's birthday party? She said I could invite classmates to join the celebration.
CALI: [It hit me. It was aunt Rose's birthday also coming up tomorrow. Aunt rose is mom's bestfriend that recommended us to move in close to the neighborhood we're living now. But I told Aki that I'll go to her brother's party.]
CALI: I-I'll check if I could come.
AYANA: What do you mean? You know your family is attending the party right? So there's no reason not to come.
CALI: I've got something in mind for tommorow. But I'll see what I can do to atleast show up.
AYANA: The celebration starts at 1:00 PM. Some of our classmates will come so don't worry about being my only classmate at the party. You should start drinking that coffee of yours cause it's almost time for class.
AYANA LEFT THE CAFETERIA WHILE CALI STANDS WITH HIS COFFEE GRIPPED INTO HIS HANDS, THINKING WHICH EVENT HE SHOULD ATTEND TOMORROW.
CALI: [Why did I forget about Aunt Rose's birthday? I should figure this out! I already promised Aki that I would come.]
THE BELL RANG AND CALI LEFT HIS CUP OF COFFEE IN THE CAFETERIA'S TABLE. HE ENTERED HIS CLASSROOM AND GOES TO VISIT PEJ'S TABLE.
CALI: Hey Pej, I got a favor to ask.
PEJ: What's up?
CALI: I want you to convince Ayana that I cannot attend aunt Rose's birthday celebration tomorrow. I have somewhere to go and it's really important to me.
PEJ: I-I'm not going at aunt Rose's house tomorrow.
CALI: W-what?
PEJ: I'm grounded for a week for smoking those new cigars that I found on the way home.
CALI: God. I told you to stop your addiction.
PEJ: Hey atleast it was free.
CALI: I can't believe this.
LORRY: Stop all those babbling and get back to your seats!
CLASS HAS STARTED AND ALL STUDENTS WENT BACK TO THEIR SEATS. BUT CALI SEEMS TO BE BOTHERED BY TOMORROW'S EVENT AND CAN'T DECIDE WHICH CELEBRATION HE SHOULD BE ATTENDING. CALI THEN TOOK A GLANCE AT AKI WRITING DOWN NOTES.
CALI: *SIGHS* [What should I do? Aki will feel unhappy if I don't show up, and mom will kill me if I don't go to aunt Rose's house.]
HE AGAIN LOOKS AND STARES AT AKI WHILE LAYING ON HIS ARM AT THE DESK.
CALI: [She looks so beautiful even when taking notes. All that she does is just so mesmerizing to look at. What if I did attend at Aki's house? Then that would be much more better. Hearing her sing a birthday song, seeing her eat, being with her in one house the whole day. That's if I did show up.]
TWO CLASSES HAD PAST AND THE BELL RANG FOR BREAK TIME. STUDENTS PROCEEDED TO THE CAFETERIA ON TIME TO GRAB FOOD. CALI SEATED BESIDE PEJ WITH NO FOOD ON HIM.
PEJ: Where's your meal?
CALI: Not feeling hungry right now. Sleep is what I need, just wake me up when the bell rings.
CALI: [That overthinking made me so exhausted. I feel so tired now. I shouldn't take a nap here in the middle of the cafeteria but I think I don't have a choice.]
HE STARTED TO LOOSE HIS VISION CAUSED BY STRESS AND STARTS TO FALL ASLEEP. MINUTES PASSED AND CALI FELT LIKE HE DIDN'T GET ANY SLEEP AT ALL. HE RAISES FROM THE TABLE HE WAS LAYING AND FINDS OUT THAT ALL STUDENTS WERE GONE INCLUDING PEJ. THE CAFETERIA WAS EMPTY AND CALI WAS THE ONLY ONE LEFT.
CALI: W-what's going on? P-Pej?! Where are these people?
CALI STANDS UP FROM HIS SEAT GIVING HIMSELF A SCRATCH ON THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AS A REACTION FOR BEING CONFUSED. HE THEN ROAMS AROUND THE CAFETERIA BUT NO SIGN OF STUDENTS WERE TO BE SEEN.
CALI: Hellooo? Pej?! Come on guys stop playing games it's not funny anymore!
FEAR GROWS INSIDE CALI CAUSING HIM TO RUN AND LOOK FOR SOMEONE FOR HELP. HE OPENS EACH DOOR IN EVERY CLASSROOM BUT ONLY FINDS IT TO BE EMPTY. CALI WAS LOST AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. HIS EYES WIDEN WHEN SUDDEN FOOTSTEPS WERE HEARD JUST AT THE END OF THE HALLWAY. HE DASHED AS QUICK AS HE CAN TO REACH WHOEVER IT WAS.
CALI: Hey! Heyy! Wait up!
THE LONG CHASE ENDED UP BACK IN THE CAFETERIA. CALI WAS PANTING AND IS LOST OF BREATH.
CALI: Hey you're f-fast. Yeah you guys got me with your little prank and I feel mad now! Can you guys come out this instant?!
NO ONE SPOKE, BUT HE CAN STILL SEE SOMEONE UNDERNEATH THE COUNTER. IT SEEMS TO REACHING OUT HIS HAND, BUT IT LOOKS SO BLACK AND WRINKLY.
CALI: H-hello?
CALI COMES CLOSER AS HE CAN SEE A SHADOW BENEATH THE COUNTER. BONE CRACKING SOUNDS CAN BE HEARD AS IT SOON RAISES FROM UNDERNEATH.
CALI: I-it's you?! Y-you were inside my room last night?!
UNKNOWN: Yesss... Yesss! HAHAHAHA! It looks here that the school's cafeteria has served really mouth-drooling sssnacks. Wouldn't mind to take a BITE!
CALI: No... Nooo!
CALI RUNS FOR HIS LIFE, DOING HIS BEST NOT TO LOOK BACK AND JUST SWIFT OFF. THE MONSTER SCREAMS AND CHASES HIM. CALI HESITATES BUT LOOKS ANYWAY WHILE RUNNING, BUT HE TRIPPED. HE HURT HIS ANKLE AND GROANS IN PAIN. THE MONSTER WAS GETTING CLOSER, BUT CALI COULDN'T RUN FOR LONG.
UNKNOWN: W-wait fooor m-meee!
CALI: AHHHHHH!
