{FLASHBACK}
CALI: [I've always never liked my dad's idea about moving into a new neighborhood. It sucks leaving your friends and old school behind and starting a new one. Why do I always have to put effort on awkwardly approaching someone just to make closure between us. Good thing Pej decided to switch school with me despite the expensive transportation fees he pays when going to school. But I still hated it. I guess adapting new school regulations is a bummer. Especially seeing new faces at school annoys me, unlike the kids at my old school. Our house was decent though, it was spacious and the neighborhood was mmm...okay. Not until I met Aki. The kind of girl who looks like those social media cuties that has a thousand of followers. She was adorable. She has this pale skin, not so round eyes, propably has the most captivating smile I'd ever seen on a girl, and is much smaller than me which I find attractive. She usually throws garbage out of their house at around 7pm every night, which is the perfect timing for me to admire her charming looks. I constantly sit there outside our poarch just to take a quick glance or even a stare. My worries about this neighborhood vanished just by looking at her. Two months after our stay here in the district, I've discovered shortcuts in order to get to my new school. It was way more faster and less hassle for me because only a few people takes the street. I've been around in many areas but "Friend Street" was the fastest route I can take every day to school. Elders here say many teenagers die in their sleep with no reason, and I find it very hilarious and didn't even bother to take it seriously. Not until I experienced weird noises inside my head. It was scary, but I still never believed any myths or stories came from those elders mouths.
{PRESENT}
CALI: [I quickly grabbed my knife off my pocket and swayed it as fast as I can to make that thing notice that I'm being threatened, but it still didn't stop. My heart was pounding through my chest, making it hard for me to stand still and control the situation.]
CALI: N-NOOO!!
CALI: [As soon as I tried to s***h my knife into it, I suddenly stopped. All my fear earlier suddenly changed into shame. I feel humiliated.]
CALI: W-what are you doing here?
AKI: You scared me! *PANTING*
CALI: What do you mean I scared you?! You were the one running down through the dark! It was like you were a f*****g manic chasing me! I've could've panicked to death!
AKI: I-I'm sorry. I was trying to keep up with you because I wanted to give your phone back. You left it at your desk. You seemed moody so I didn't bother to call you so I decided to run.
CALI: [I felt sorry for her. I made her run and sweat because of my mistakes. I should make up to her!]
CALI: *SIGHS* Okay... Thanks by the way.
AKI: It's alright. I loose my stuff too so I feel you.
CALI: It's getting dark, we should get going.
AKI: *SIGHS* Okay.
CALI: [We still had a lot of time to chat since we're still half way but I chose to walk with her one step behind and remain silent so that I can guard her.]
AKI SUDDENLY STOPS WALKING
AKI: This is so awkward!
CALI: *LOOKS CONFUSED* W-what is?
AKI: You being so numb!
CALI: [She looks at me with a mad face. Scolding me like I'm her child. I took a step closer, maybe it was what she wanted.]
CALI: Are you okay?
AKI GRABS AND HOLDS CALI'S ARMS AND PROCEEDED TO WALK WITH ME
CALI: [She's holding onto me. I could smell here strong sweet perfume.]
AKI: Why didn't you accept my sandwhich earlier? I spent hours making it.
CALI: I said I wasn't hungry.
AKI: You could've just eaten it at the way home then... Here take it.
AKI REACHES OUT HER SANDWHICH SHE MADE FOR ME AND HANDED IT.
AKI: I hope it didn't spoil.
CALI: T-thanks... Uhmm Aki?
AKI: Mhm?
CALI: You wouldn't mind me ask questions about you and Dustin?
AKI: What about it?
CALI: [s**t! Why did I ask such things?!]
CALI: *SIGHS* Are you two hanging out? Like... Together hanging out?
AKI: Why not?! Is there something wrong about it?
CALI REMAINED SILENT AND LOOKED ANXIOUS
AKI: Of course not dummy! *GIGGLES* Why would I hang out with him? He'll just use me as one of hes side chicks.
CALI: But he seems to be really liking you. I mean... He does ask you out everytime.
CALI: [Why am I saying this?!]
AKI: I do appreciate his effort but it doesn't really impress me. He doesn't look like the guy that would last with me forever.
CALI: You two do look good together.
CALI: [Why am I trying to be supportive here?! Gosh I feel so humiliated!]
AKI: What about you and me? Don't we look good together?
CALI:[W-what did she just say? My world turned into a sudden pause. My insides rumbled like crazy! Did she actually just meant that?! This is insane!]
AKI: I-I mean don't we look good together when we're like... You know?!
CALI: [I started to blush. This feels so good. No wonder other boys would want this feeling too.]
AKI: Hey, Cali!
CALI: Yes?
AKI: I asked my mom if I could invite you to my little brother's birthday party. I hope you're free at saturday and could come celebrate with us.
CALI: But... Why invite me?
AKI: Oh don't worry! I've invited a few of our friends and said that they'd come. So will you be available?
CALI: Yeah sure, I'll come.
CALI: [She smiled. I'm sure I didn't dissappoint her with my words.]
CALI: [We had minutes of chatting but it felt like seconds. After a long walk, we finally reached home.]
CALI: I'll see you tomorrow at school then?
AKI: Yes! I'll see you too!
CALI: [I stared at her for about 5 seconds, taking this moment of satisfaction before I go inside.]
AKI: Hey, are you okay?
CALI: Yeah, yeah.
AKI: I should get going, my mom's propably freaking out right now. I shouldn't be going home this late.
CALI: O-okay, see you!
AKI AND CALI WAVES GOODBYE TO EACH OTHER AND CONTINUES TO GET INSIDE. AFTER EATING DINNER, CALI THEN GOES TO BED TO TAKE A REST.
CALI: [What a wonderful night it is. It was one of the best I had. Walking with her was the most comforting moment ever. I can still smell the sweet perfume lingering from my uniform. She even invited me at her party. I-I mean his brother's party. I should wear something really good! Something really outstanding to make Aki like m-... Never mind, it's not even her party. Ughh, why should I worry about this? It's two days away. I should get some sleep. Gotta wake up early tomorrow for school.]
CALI STRETCHES TO RELEASE STRESS AND STARTS TO RELAX TO GET SOME SLEEP. CALI STARTS TO FEEL SLEEPINESS BUT SUDDENLY REALIZES THAT HIS DOOR WASN'T CLOSE.
CALI: Ah s**t! I didn't close the door.
CALI STARRED AND TURNED INTO A SUDDEN PAUSE WHEN HE NOTICED THE DARKNESS WITHIN THE HALLWAY JUST OUTSIDE HIS ROOM.
CALI: [Gosh it's so dark. W-why do I feel so frightened? Goosebumps suddenly covered my entire body. I can't even think of getting up and closing the door. Nevermind, mom will close it later if she sees it opened. I should go to sleep.]
AS SOON AS CALI CLOSES HIS EYES, SUDDEN CREAKING SOUNDS CAN BE HEARD OUTSIDE HIS ROOM.
CALI: [W-what was that?! M-maybe it's just mom. Could it be mom?!]
CALI IGNORED THE SOUND AND STAYED STILL BUT SOMETHING OUTSIDE WAS SLOWLY DECREASING DISTANCE BETWEEN ITSELF AND THE ROOM. ALONG WITH THE CREAKING, NAILS SCREECHING CAN BE HEARD. CALI WAS TERRIFIED WITH THE SITUATION AND DIDN'T MOVE A MUSCLE. HE KEPT HIS EYES CLOSED, BUT IS FILLED WITH FEAR INSIDE.
CALI: [It's getting louder and louder! It makes weird noises! This isn't mom nor dad!]
THE DISTURBING FOOTSTEPS FINALLY REACHED CALI'S FRONT DOOR. CALI CAN ONLY REMEMBER WHAT HIS ROOM LOOKS LIKE. HE THEN IMAGINES WHAT THAT FORM COULD BE AND WHERE THE SOUNDS COME FROM WHILE HIS EYES IS CLOSED. ALL HE CAN DO NOW IS THINK AND ILLUSTRATE IN HIS MIND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE REAL WORLD. FOOTSTEPS THEN ROAMED HIS ENTIRE ROOM.
CALI: [It seems to be looking for something?! I hope it goes away! It's freaking me out! *GASPS* I-I hear something beside me!]
THE FOOTSTEPS STOPS BESIDE CALI'S BED. SILENCE SPREADED THROUGHTOUT THE ROOM FOR ABOUT TEN SECONDS. SOMETHING SAT BESIDE CALI'S BED, AND STARTS BREATHING ON CALI'S FACE.
