CHAPTER05

The bright lights and beeping machines was her first sight when she woke up. she could not even tell what time it was neither could she tell how long she had been out. it felt like she had been out for months but the sight of her dad wearing the same clothes made her realize that it was still the same day. her body felt light and for once in months she felt energetic.

"hey sweetie i am really glad that you are awake you scared us there"her father said as he moved towards her bed. her mom was following him behind the smell of food hither nostrils and at that moment her stomach rumbled, how greedy she chided herself. Her mom seemed to have forgotten about her dietary restrictions as she served her salmon in huge portions. she immediately started eating because she was really starving. "Slow Connie, the food is all yours" her mom remarked as she helped wipe her cheeks. Suddenly she felt like she was back in middle school with her parents in her room feeding her after she had broken her arm playing .

After eating she requested for her phone she had forgotten she had texted Mikael.you could you blame her alot had happened so she could just do whatever. The moment she opened her phone she she saw notifications of her husband and friend . They had called her more than 50 times. connie was flabbergasted what were they really planning or what was their deal? she decided to open their messages just to find that he was mad that she had discharged herself. she was suposed to start her chemo sessions today but why were they making it a big deal. after all it was her life not theirs and anyway whether she did it or not her fate was sealed so she had decided to not go through all that for nothing.

On the other side of the globe Matt and kaylee were panicking. Connie had disappeared from the hospita;. At first Matt had gave the doctor their address . "she must be in the house". he informed him. he knew cpnnie wouldnt go anywher. However two hours later the doctor clearly mad told them the house was deserted. panic surged throuh his blood. he did not want to imagine what would happen to them if the cartel got hold of them. e had texted even tried calling her but she was off. "I cant get hold of her","my duty was to inject her with the poison, so now thats your issue if the bosses dont find her trust you me you don't want to know what will to you", the doctor clearly fed up with the conversation replied.

Matt had called Cara one of Connie's workers just for her to tell him she had not reported to work in days.kaylee seeing the shift in his mood moved to console him."we will just stay here until we figure out what to do. i don't want no one torturing me while im pregnant.Matt had agreed with her and focused on their vacation

Mikael had replied with a hi and texted her again after 6 hours asking if she was okay and needed anything. He was just curious as to why she was texting him in the first place Connie knew she could trust him and told him she was not okay and the moment she was back in the states, she would like to talk to him. Mikael replied instantly which surprised Connie. Was he not working? he was always busy so she could not believe he was replying to her texts immediately." Actually, I'm in Italy i have been here for the last month i am working on expanding my business here"connie couldn't believe it he was right here, probably a few miles from her but that made the whole situation easier.she was going to tell him once she got out of that hospital.

Before she could reply the doctor and her nurse came to her ward . Her open chat was staring at her. she just stared at the doctor as her parents held her hands she could not believe that this was her life right now. Her parents were already sobbing ." surely would could be worse than cancer ?" Connie wondered .
