Chapter 11

Mikael stood where Connie left him, partly regretting his outburst, but something inside him she deserved it for pushing him back then. his plans for waiting for his dad were now ruined, but before he could leave, his phone pinged. It was Damian. he opened it and stared at the information in awe. His friend's name. Damian Woods, wife Maria Woods, daughter Consolata Maria Mathews, popularly known as Connie. for a second he was dumbfounded. He knew Mr Damian but he had never thought that Connie was his daughter. She only associated with the low lives, so there ws no way he could have guessed who she was. With this new-found information, he knew where to start now. He had to work closely with Connie, but he knew she hated him, which was his fault for being such a jerk.

He followed the path Connie had taken and found himself inside the most beautiful living room ever .everything in there felt homely and screamed money. Don't get him wrong he had grown up rich but the woods seemed to be extra rich maybe that was why his dad wanted to help them. He followed the sounds of his dad's laughter and found himself in the dining area. The table was full of delicacies. It made his mouth water. he was hungry for sure and he just needed to dig in immediately, but his dad signaled to him over ,"Damian and Maria meet my second son Mikael. He is the CEO of my pharmaceutical company in New York".

Mikael watched them eye him like the way a predator did to its prey but he was tough, so he pretended to smile. But one thing baffled him,se didn't resemble any of these people. maybe they adopted her he concluded. te parents were blonde both with clear blue eyes yet she was clearly a brunette. He assessed her mother and realized that even at her old age you could tell she was one elegant woman, and her dad well he seemed to be such a tough guy so he could not help but wonder how that boy Matt had managed to convince him to let him marry his only child. But being in the room he concluded that mutt did not know about her background well because if he did the new tabloids would never have run out of news that guy loved to brag about each and every little thing . He had all new sites announcing when he acquired his first logistics company what about this? he couldn't help but shudder thinking about that stupid man child. At that moment the lady of the hour walked in.

She was hot, and she seemed to know it because the way she walked just screamed confidence . the golden dress she wore accentuated her curves in ways he could have never imagined. He needed her in ways that the devil would be scared if he found out. But the moment he looked into her eyes the thought faded quickly she was not his type for sure.

she went straight and hugged his dad. Mikael stared at them in shock. how did he even know her? He had claimed to have treated her but that didn't mean they were close. . she did the same to her parents and completely ignored him

." How is your marriage Mikael your dad told us you got married ,you should bring her here you know Connie could use another woman's company " her dad t asked him. Connie coughed loudly, probably out of shock or whatever." He is married to Kaylee dad ", what ? why did you not tell us? her mum chimed in." It happened all of a sudden with no wedding ceremony actually, plus you had vowed never to return to the states."

Mikael's dad stared at her surprised that she knew her son and even his wife. she seemed to be a pretty chill girl but he concluded she just thought the world was all colorful. Maybe that is why she had not questioned the results or even the birth control." She is okay, ma'am just busy you know how work can be " Mikael managed to reply .

" busy doing what ?" Kaylee mocked. Last time i checked they had fired her for misappropriating funds of the social center she worked , can you imagine that,the audacity!"Connie's outburst surprised everyone. Mikael could decipher the venom and jealous in that whole statement. one thing he was never going to do is let anyone drag his wife. he slept around so did she,they had agreed on that but anyone coming for her meant wanting war with him.

" oh my someone sounds so jealous right now. Her husband provides for her, so maybe you should have also married a rich man. Aren't you supposed to be her best friend anyway?"

Connie stared at him in shock. She had thought she would talk to him about it but it seemed like that would be futile but she still had a lot to say.

" ooh ,such a good husband that she is cheating left and right,"

she expected a reaction but none came. He was not sleeping with her so it was only right for her to get it somewhere else.their parents stared at their kids in shock, they seemed to be a lot of tension. Connie's eyes were already watery. she just wanted to let them know she was sleeping with her own husband.

" She is a grown-up stop c**k watching Consolata!" Mikael, clearly fed up with the conversation, said. Why was she making a big deal out of it anyway?

" she is cheating on you with Matt, she even has a child on the way," she reiterated while standing .
