ANNA'S POV - WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE HE WANTS ME. She was tall, elegant, and fierce, raven-black hair cascading down her back, her curves wrapped in a tight red dress that screamed power and confidence. Her scent was rich, like wild roses and blood. Before I could even ask who she was, she marched straight toward me and shoved me hard. I stumbled backward, falling onto the cold marble floor with a gasp. “Well, well,” she said with a cold smile, looking down at me. “Looks like I’ve finally found the b***h who’s trying to seduce Alpha Dominic.” I blinked in confusion. “Who are you?” She tilted her head, her lips curling into a cruel grin. “You don’t deserve to know who I am. The only thing you need to know is this, I’m the real Luna of this pack. And I’m here to offer you a little advice.” I stood slowly, my palms shaking, but I refused to let her see fear. “Advice?” I asked bitterly. “Yes,” she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. “Stay away from Dominic. He’s mine. You don’t belong anywhere near him, you pathetic little brat.” My heart raced, but something inside me snapped. I lifted my chin and met her glare head-on. “Is that so?” I said, my voice low but steady. “Too bad he’d rather marry a brat than you.” Her face twisted with rage. “You b***h! You think a piece of paper makes you his wife? You’re nothing but a placeholder!” I crossed my arms, watching her closely. “Seriously? If I’m just a placeholder, then why are you the one freaking out and throwing insults around? Are you really his mate? Because right now, you’re acting like someone with zero confidence.” Her jaw clenched. Fury burned in her eyes. “How dare you!” she screamed, and before I could react, she raised her hand to slap me. But I caught it midair. Her eyes widened in shock as our gazes locked. I felt a strange surge of power inside me, something wild and unexplainable, like a current of energy rushing under my skin. For a moment, she froze, sensing it too. Then she yanked her hand back violently, pushing me hard against the wall. My back hit the surface with a painful thud. “You will regret this!” she snarled. Her eyes glowed a fiery gold as her body began to shift, claws emerging, bones cracking, fur rippling along her arms. She was halfway through transforming into her wolf. I screamed, backing away, but she lunged forward. Just then, a thunderous voice filled the room. “That’s enough!” Alpha Dominic. He stormed in like a shadow, his presence overpowering the chaos. His eyes flashed silver as he grabbed Elizabeth’s arm mid-swipe, stopping her claws an inch from my face. “Elizabeth,” he growled, his tone dark and commanding. “That’s enough.” Elizabeth froze, trembling under his grip. Then, in a blink, she shifted back into human form, pretending to sob. “Dominic, you have no idea what she said to me!” she cried, clutching his arm. “She was so rude, so cruel! I was only trying to talk to her, but she insulted me!” I stood there, shaking, unable to believe her act. Dominic’s expression hardened. “No, Elizabeth. You’ve gone too far.” She blinked up at him, tears streaking her face. “W-what?” “She’s my wife,” he said firmly. His voice cut through the room like a blade. “And you should never have used your wolf against her.” Elizabeth stared at him in disbelief. “Your wife? You can’t be serious, Dominic. She’s just some weak girl you were forced to marry! You can’t possibly mean…” “I said enough,” he snapped, his Alpha aura flaring so strongly that even I could feel its power pressing against my chest. Elizabeth flinched and lowered her gaze, trembling slightly. “You’re defending her? Instead of me, your mate?” she whispered. “Quiet.” His voice dropped to a deadly calm. Elizabeth’s mouth snapped shut. “I don’t want to hear another word,” Dominic said, his tone firm and unforgiving. “You came into my wife’s room without permission. You raised your hand against her. You nearly shifted inside my house.” Her eyes widened, trembling with disbelief. “From this moment,” he said coldly, “I don’t want to see you anywhere near Anna. Not in this room, not in this wing of the house, not within ten feet of her. Do you understand me?” Elizabeth’s hands clenched at her sides. “Dominic, I…” “I said leave,” he snapped, his Alpha aura pulsing through the room. Elizabeth’s jaw dropped. “What?” “Get out,” he repeated sharply. “Before I make you.” Elizabeth flinched and lowered her head. She gave me one final deadly look before storming out. Her heels clicked furiously as she stormed out of the room. The moment the door slammed shut, silence filled the space again. The only sound was the distant thunder and my ragged breathing. I stood there, my body trembling, unsure if I should thank him or scream. Dominic turned toward me slowly, his eyes softer now. and for a second, he actually looked... worried? “Are you hurt?” I shook my head, unable to speak. I tried to step away, to gather myself, but my legs gave out. “Agh…!” He caught me before I hit the floor. One arm around my waist, the other steadying my back. Our faces were so close... too close. For a moment, neither of us moved. His eyes flicked to my lips. My breath hitched. Was he going to kiss me? He blinked and stood me upright again. “Well,” he said, pulling back, clearing his throat like nothing had happened, “seems like you’re always putting yourself in the middle of everything.” I glared at him, still breathless. “You should hurry up and get ready for the pack party,” he added, already turning to leave. “Try not to start another trouble in the process.” I wanted to say something snarky, but before I could think of a good comeback, he was gone. And then… Elizabeth appeared in the doorway again. “You slut,” she hissed, her voice shaking with hatred. “You’ll see what it means to cross me.” Then she vanished like smoke. I stood frozen, heart thudding in my chest. What did I get myself into? The door burst open again.
