Eva was disturbed by the noise coming from the kitchen, it was just 7 am in the morning and mom was already chit chatting with Alexa? But she became interested when she discovered it was about Boys. She quickly stood up from the bed, washes her face and went straight to the Kitchen, she rarely misses such discussion.

"Good morning mom" She greeted her mother as she took a stool beside Alexa and joined her in cutting the vegetables.

"Morning dear"

"I thought you were sleeping?" Alexa mockingly said

"Did you think I would allow you to enjoy all the gossip alone?"Eva said

" Eva dear I was talking about your elder sister Marvel. I don't know why she's so bent on dating that boy. I can't condone that act, I sent her to school to learn and get upgraded but I don't know what she sees in that village boy, can't she see better people over there? "

" Mom remember that love is environmental, she stayed here in Owerri before she went to school at Port Harcourt. She found her love here mom, and besides tomorrow is pregnant who knows what that boy would be tomorrow"

"Oh please Eva!"Alexa retorted" don't defend her like that. all boys are the same, they all come for one thing, that thing in-between your legs. And for God's sake, that guy is too local for her, I know he has girlfriends here and still pretend to our sister"

"Eva dear, don't get deceived by these fellas, for now, any boy that comes your way are here for one thing, that is to destroy.....

"Mom! I'm hungry" Levi Eva's baby brother cried out

"Hurry up with the veggies, and enough of the gossip, we need to serve your dad breakfast." Mom said and it ended the conversation.

*Later that day*

It was a Saturday and Eva and her siblings had cleaned up the house. It was their leisure time, Suddenly there was a knock on the door and it was Avril.

"Eva, come and see who came to check up on you!"Evelyn shouted

" Who could that be?"Eva said as she came outside

" Surprise!!" Avril shouted as they hugged themselves.

" It's indeed a surprise Avril. You coming to see me is usually once in a blue moon. you're welcome here darl." Eva welcomed her warmly as she brought out a seat for them to chitchat.

" It's nothing much Eva.Just wanted to check up on you"

"OMG! Thank you so much Avril. at least I have a caring friend."

" Count on me Eva. So what about your bestie Natasha?"

" She's fine but can we leave her out of this discussion?"

" I hope there's no problem between you two?"

" No, not at all."Eva said as she felt somehow uneasy. " So tell me what's up? any gist for me?"

" Gist keh? I came with myself o, Can you imagine Eva that that foolish boy kelvin asked me to be his girlfriend?"

" Which Kelvin? oh Kelvin in class? That play boy?"

"I was just so angry, when he told me that, and I told him "you should be ashamed of yourself for saying such to me, who told you that I would accept a jerk like you" and do you know what he told me?"

" I'm dying to hear what he said"

"He shouted and said ,"IT'S A PRANK!!, How do you think I would ask a weirdo like you out" Avril said and they both burst out laughing

" Holy s**t! that boy is a jerk" Eva said amidst laughter

" Talking about "asking out" any gist for me?" Avril said jokingly. Immediately Eva remembered Lucky and she had a mood swing

"I'm sorry Eva,did I say anything wrong?"

"No, not all. it's just that I'm having a really hard time. I met this boy and he wanted to have s*x with me but when I refused him countless times, he broke up with me and even told me harsh words, he told me that Natasha's better than me" Eva said with misty eyes

" Don't tell me you're going to waste your pearly tears on him?"

"Of course not. Just that Natasha is making me regret why I said No to him."

" Nonsense Eva! you did just the right thing. He just found out that you are not just any girl he would meet and brainwash them having s*x with him. let me now tell you, if you had fallen for him, trust me,he would still ditch you and say the harshest words ever,then you would feel used and frustrated"

"Why am I always the odd one?" Eva said as tears trickled down her eyes "why would he tell me that Natasha's better than me? Why am I indirectly invisible anytime I'm with Natasha? She's my best friend and I love her, I try my best not to get jealous of her but our ways still clash, Why??"Eva said and began to sob

" Oh please can you stop this Nonsense Eva!, Natasha is not better than you, You are beautiful, intelligent and well-mannered, outgoing, even preferable to Natasha"

" You're just trying to make me feel good right? Eva looked at Avril with tears

"No, I'm just stating facts. but wait, why would Lucky compare you to her, don't you think they both are up to something?, How did he come to know her?"

Eva stood up angrily and told Avril " No!,I would not have you poison my mind against my childhood friend. So please watch your mouth!"

"I'm sorry Eva. I know how much you love her,but trust me she is no longer the girl you knew. Try thinking vastly.

"You know what let's just close this matter inorder not to spoil the our moods. How about a game of Ludo?"

"Sure, that would do. Remind me before I leave, I would like to borrow your Government note"

"Don't tell me that's why you came!"

"Of course not!"

When Avril left, Eva began to find some sense in what she told her. Eva introduced Natasha to Lucky after much persuasion from Natasha who said she would like to meet her bestie's boyfriend.

That fateful day, they decided to meet at the central field as Eva was purposely dodging her parents to find out.

"So Babe, Meet my bestie Natasha, Natasha meet my boyfriend Lucky" Eva introduced

"Finally, I met you" Natasha exclaimed "Eva finally got a boyfriend! That's amazing!"

"Well, Nice to meet you Natasha. Eva really got a beautiful bestie" Lucky said as he shook hands with Natasha

" Thank you so much, I'm really flattered" Natasha blushed

Eva immediately noticed how Natasha was busing her body, but it didn't come to her notice that it was for Lucky's attention.

"All my friends are really beautiful, so don't joke with us" Eva bragged

They had a little chat, then Eva received a call from her mom that she should come back immediately.

"I have to start going now, mom just called me."Eva announced

"So soon?" Lucky said

"I'm afraid it's urgent. Natasha we should start going."

" Um...." Natasha said with uneasiness " I don't think I would be going now, my mother also sent me on an errand"

" isn't it the route I would be taking also, we can still go together"

" No..., I would be taking Lucky's route, because of ...."

" No problem."Eva interrupted "I have to start going"

Eva noticed something unusual but she didn't give it a thought.
