Rosalia the Wanderer

842 Words
On October fifth Rosalia got a concussion. She passed out and saw a forest with coconut trees and redwoods with animals from past and future running around for only a moment. When she opened her eyes she didn't see the forest she saw or the field she was playing soccer in but rather was seated at a cafe. This cafe had a view of trees of emerald so massive that she couldn't see the top. There were no other patreons at this cafe except for a frail thin looking boy in a barista uniform with a hat. Even though he had just shattered a cup full of some sort of liquid she stared at his face. His skin looked like tan quartz that matched his hair with his eyes were a deep amethyst that only communicated fear. His stature showed youth and cowardice. Wearing a hat similar to that of a beanie that covered his ears. Around one of the only visible corner a taller gentleman with slightly more refined clothes but in a similar fashion and no beanie hurried in with worry at the sound of the broken ópolo cup. He asked the boy "What is the matter with you? Can't even carry a singular cup to the back?" The boy warily pointed his finger at Rosalia. At this point she was so entranced by the beauty of the world and new characters around her she didnt care for their conversation. The boy was then instructed to go say hello to the wanderer. He did so slowly. He asked, "Are you alright Miss?" When she was addressed by the boy she snapped out of her daze she tried to reply that she was and realized she couldn't. She tried again this time screaming but not a sound came out. The boy look at his boss with a confused stare. The boss took a closer look at her and told him, "She can't speak this time. When she comes back she'll speak" The boy was worried that she couldn't speak and that he didn't know why but knew Boss knew best. Boss could see an ebon mischievously holding her mouth shut. The wanderer could open her mouth and scream as loud as she wanted to but the was no way a noise was coming out. He then left and ordered the boy to clean up the broken cup and make sure the wanderer isn't killed. As he did so he was able to take a closer look at the girl and saw she was in light weight material that was colored red and black. She had red socks and shoes with weird spokes on the bottom for an unknown purpose. She had long brown hair in a high ponytail woven together in a fashion that kept it out of the way. But as he was trying to get a closer look at her face she vanished just as suddenly as she came. Unknown to him the ebon was laughing at him. Rosalia blinked and could see she was in an ambulance. Startled she looked at her father. Her father was a tall man of jet black hair brushed back and warmth filled amber eyes wearing a lightweight sweater who said, "Were going to the ER to see if there is a brain bleed so be patient you're going to be alright." She reacted with limited head movement a nod. They arrived hurridly heading straight to get a CT scan, which showed no sign of any neurological concern. After being given tylenol Rosalia was sent home to which her birthday party was about to start. It was her twelfth birthday party and she felt groggy and exhausted but tried to keep her spirits up. Keeping the scenes of trees, animals, and people she saw to herself. Those places were now her little secret but now with no idea how to return or if it was even real she slowly stopped thinking about it and was enjoying her rather exciting party. She hoped that it is real but having fun with what she knows is real was more important than a dream. The rest of the party was filled with costume contests, bursting ghost piñatas, and eating way to sweet cake. After she started opening her presents she had dolls and nail polish kits. Amoumg these she opened one from Grandma. A little tablet that was hers exclusively that was more advanced than any phone she has used.. Not allowing Sparo, her younger brother, to play on it she ran hurriedly to her room to charge it. The day was long and her head pounded but overall a good day. This was quite an interesting birthday present to herself she thought to herself. Though between the serious concussion and seeing not only a pink planet with emerald trees but the forest that shouldn't be she had no idea what to think. As she thought about that young boy's eyes she stayed up to late playing on her new tablet that her grandmother gave her.
