8. Feral

Jace's POV

Once I was certain that Esnie had fallen asleep, I got up and left her in our bedroom.

I took thirty men with me, consisting of betas, deltas, gammas, and powerful omegas. Together, we snuck into Alpha Kaiah's pack where I had received word that he and his cohorts were having a meeting. They had joined forces so that they could destroy me and kidnap my beautiful mate. No way in hell!

Thanks to the descriptions given to me by Reina a while back, I led the men through an underground tunnel that brought us to a jungle near the Bloodhunters' pack. As I instructed, the deltas and gammas attacked the wolves guarding the pack house while my betas and I ran straight into the mansion. My wolf, Tai, was furious, he devoured everyone in his path.

I was attacked from behind by one of the alphas, but I did not hesitate to bite off his head. I went after the others who had started running away. I pounced on the black wolf and bit his head from the top, and on another, I scratched off his snout and gave him a bleeding face before biting his belly.

Soon, it was Kaiah who was left. His magnificent silver wolf stood across the hallway leading to his office. He launched at me and I fought back with all I had, he proved to be a worthy opponent as we matched each other's strengths. But I was lucky enough to get the upper hand and sink my fangs into his neck first before he bit mine. I threw him over the banister, and he fell almost twenty feet down to the first floor. I jumped down to continue our fight. He was bleeding, but I could see in his eyes that he was not willing to give up. He attacked me with more vigor this time and sunk his fangs into my back. I winced and threw him off my back. Just as he was about to attack again, I dodged and bit his neck on the same spot, until it bled profusely. He transformed back to his human form. His eyes, nose, mouth, and ears were bleeding.

I was about to finish him off when he said: "I have your mate!"

I ignored him, knowing that Esnie was in bed when I left. But he repeated: "I have her soul trapped in this mansion somewhere. If you kill me, she will never return to you".

Kaiah would never lie about something like that, but I had to make sure. I changed back and gripped his neck in fury. "What did you do to Esnie?!"

His eyes sparkled with mischief. “Promise to spare my life, and I'll bring her back to you."

I grunted. “Fine, you have my word, Kaiah,” I said reluctantly.

He stood up and started walking. I followed him up the stairs to his conference room. He went to the fireplace and stood, staring at the bronze chain on the floor. I couldn’t see anything, but he seemed to be gazing at it.

He took out a key with which he opened the lock on the chain. Then he turned to me: "She is free now".

Still feeling like an i***t, I responded, “Good. Now you're coming with me". I stretched my hand to grab him, but he moved back.

He sneered. “You will never catch me, Jace". He vanished into a thick black smoke that went up in the air, and dissipated right before my eyes.

I ordered the men to burn down the mansion to the ground. That night, we attacked all the other packs run by Kaiah's cohorts and I took control of all of them.

I returned to my house after three days of fighting and found my Esnie playing with the children. She sighted me and ran to hug me. I carried her like a baby in my arms. She giggled adorably. Everyone came to meet me and I assured them that neither Kaiah nor the other alphas would bother us again. They rejoiced and started organizing a party for that night.

I carried my beautiful mate to our bedroom and placed her gently on the mattress with her back against the bed. I hovered above her with my hands and legs on either side of her body. I looked into her brown eyes, my gorgeous mate... "I love you, Esnie, never forget that".

I got closer and kissed her lips. This time, she accepted my kiss. I was happy that she was gradually letting down her wall. She kissed me back, we were lost on each other's lips and I forgot about all the injuries I had gotten from the fight. She is my remedy.

We eventually ended the kiss after running out of breath. I got down and moved to the bathroom to take a shower. As I was busy showering, her sweet scent hit my nostrils and I knew that she was right behind me. She touched my back. I turned to face her and saw she was as naked as I was. I could not help but stare at her gorgeous body. Her scars didn't make her any less beautiful. She hugged my frame and rested her head against my chest. I caressed her hair and bare back with my hands.

"Make love to me, Jace". She whispered.

I kissed the top of her head and made her look at me. I kissed her lips and carried her up so that her legs were wrapped around my torso. She didn't object one bit, I took that as a go-ahead and deepened the kiss. I kissed her neck and chest while she massaged the back of my head. Afterward, I played with her c**t until I felt her become wet... that was when I asked her: "Are you sure you want this?".

"Yes". She breathed out.

I entered her core. She bit down on my neck as I took it slow. With every push, our craving for each other increased. That was when I picked up the pace and gave her every bit of myself...

After we finished, I turned off the shower. We dried each other's bodies with our towels and got dressed.

We went downstairs and joined the party. We were all dancing and jumping to the beats when the music came to an abrupt stop. We turned to DJ Maine, asking why he turned off the music. He pointed at the door. We looked in that direction and saw Reina. She looked...feral.
