Alpha Kaiah

1397 Words
As soon as Alpha Kaiah left, Jace told everyone to be on the alert, he placed more wolves on patrol to protect the pack against Kaiah or any other forms of danger. I did not tell him that I heard Alpha Kaiah's voice in my head because I didn't know how he will react to that news. He started getting calls from alphas of other packs wanting to arrange a meeting with him. They were willing to offer a large percentage of their wealth and properties just to have me. Why am I so valuable to them? Of course, Jace refused each of their offers, this did not sit well with them and they threatened to wage war on us. *** One day, I and some of the girls were sitting in the living room playing a board game when we suddenly heard the warning signal go off: "We're Under Attack!!" Everyone ran to their respective positions. I wanted to fight too be Jace stopped me: "Stay in the attic with the others". He ordered and dashed out of the mansion. Rowena dragged me upstairs with the omega females. I felt so useless. The fight went on for a long time. The omegas and I were beginning to worry. I closed my eyes and again, my spirit got sucked in by a force that took me outside; I saw Jace protecting Maine's wolf which had been injured. Another wolf attacked Jace from behind, but before it could sink its teeth into Jace's flesh, I shot a ball of fire at it. I went ahead to light up all the other enemy wolves. They were so many of them that I started growing weak with every kill. Out of the blue, I heard Alpha Kaiah's voice in my head: "The more you kill, the weaker you become, Seer. Stop now and return to your body before it's too late". But I ignored his voice and continued to kill the wolves until I became too exhausted to return to the attic... In trying to force myself to return, I got sucked into an entirely different place; an empty island engulfed by darkness. I felt the cold breeze blow over me, causing me to shiver. Alpha Kaiah's voice came again: "I warned you but you refused to listen". "Why have you brought me here?!" I cried out, feeling terrified and alone. "You brought yourself here, I had nothing do with it" "Help me get back!" "Give me total control over your mind and I will take you back" "You must think I'm an i***t, if you cannot help me, then forget it!" "You are as stubborn as your mate. If you don't give me control, I won't have enough power to save you from the Nothingness of your mind". I fell to the ground, my strength was failing me: "How do I give you control?" "Tell me a powerful memory that only you know, and surrender your thoughts to me". I thought about a time when I tried to poison Reg's food but could not go through with it because my conscience wouldn't let me; I was about to divulge this information to him when Jace's voice reverberated from the outside world. "Jace! Help me! Wake me up! Save me from here! Jace!!" I cried out. I saw his werewolf counterpart descend from the dark sky, he held my hand and pulled me out... I woke up in the real world with a gasp. "Esnie!! Thank God you're okay!" Jace embraced me. I looked around; I was lying on our bed, surrounded by pack members; Fiona, Gerald, Maine, and all the others. "We thought you had died, my dear. But thank the goddess you're back". Explained Jace. "What happened? How did the fight go?" I asked. Jace lowered his head in sorrow: "We lost West" "Reina's mate?" "Yeah" He affirmed. "Is Reina okay?" "She ran away. It will take her a long time to be fine, if ever. Also, Maine was badly injured". "Whoa bro, I'm right here. Do I look injured to you?" Maine tried to make fun out of the situation but the pain from his broken leg didn't let him laugh for too long. "Oh stop it, Maine! Jace, we need to talk!". Fiona said as she stormed out of the room with Gerald right behind her. They both did not look happy in the slightest. "I'll be back soon, my Luna". He kissed my forehead and went out to the hallway to meet his mother. At first, I couldn't make out what they were saying but soon, it escalated into an argument with Fiona's voice being the loudest: "Since she got here, it's been one battle or the other. I didn't complain before, but now, my Maine has been injured, I can not take it anymore, Jace!" .. "What are you saying, mother? Battles have been going on long before her arrival". Jace said in a softer voice. "But she's the target now, isn't she?" "Mom please..." "Jace, you know I love you like a son, but I cannot lose my only real child just because of you and that cursed Seer of a mate you have, remember that!" She pushed the door open and pulled on Maine's wheelchair and pushed him out of the room. Soon, everyone else left, and only Jace remained. What she said broke my heart. That was the first time I had ever seen her upset: "I am a curse rather than a blessing to you, Jace". I stated with tears in my eyes He held me in his arms: "Don't ever say that. You are my one true mate, You are not a curse". *** West was cremated that night and his ashes were kept for Reina for when she returns. No one said a word; We each returned to our respective bedrooms. I sat on the bed, my heart wrenched with grief and pain. Am I cursed? Is that why my parents sold me? Is that why Mr. Meyers abused me? Is that why things are this way now? Jace opened the door and entered, he was in a black tux. He walked up to where I was sitting: "Shouldn't you be in bed now, Princess?" "Will this continue to happen until they get their wish?" I asked restlessly. "No. I have decided to wage war on the pack that did this, enough is enough. They have taken our gentility for granted for far too long". He made us both lie down, he held me tight and buried his nose in the hollow of my neck. His breath fanned my neck, it was almost ticklish. Soon, we fell asleep in each other's arms. *** Like a dream, my spirit wandered to the entrance of a mansion. I entered through the door and walked up the stairs until I reach a locked door. I passed through the door and came into a meeting room. Seated on the chairs are; Alpha Kaiah, his subordinates, and other powerful men who I presume to be alphas. They were conversing about Jace and our pack. A man in a fur coat spoke up: "Let's attack them again tonight, they are weakened by their grief". Alpha Kaiah shook his head in the negative: "They are fueled by anger, who knows what their plans are, besides, I don't have my informant there at the moment". Informant? He has a mole in our pack? "What then do you suggest, Kaiah?" Asked another alpha. Alpha Kaiah raised his hand gesturing for them to be quiet. Then a smile graced his face: "We have a guest it seems". He looked at me: "Do you think I can not see your spirit?" I try to run but could not... He brought a chain made of bronze and bound me to the floor... "Let me go!!" I cried. "Didn't your mother teach you not to eavesdrop, Seer?" He laughed. No other person in the room could see me except him. He continued: "Now that I have your soul, all that is left is your body which my men and I will go bring right away. Your Jace won't know what hit him". He laughed again and left the room. The other men followed him. I was left alone, unable to leave. "Jace! I hope you can hear me, they are coming!!!"
