Back to the present

#A changed Alpha

Aaron's POV

I woke up in my room sweating, I checked the time it was just 4:30am in the morning. I had that dream again, ever since I came out of coma I kept having this dream of the attack. It keeps bothering me alot and I remembered my vow too.

So you do? So what have you done about it then?

Tyler was fuming and has been talking nasty to me since four days ago after I woke up. I shut the link because I didn't have time for the asshole of a wolf. Violet broke too much in me to heal and even though Tyler is right but I won't let him know, I need to start searching and gathering informations on my own. James will help me too, his good with handling this pack since I decided to be a weakling.bHe has grown responsible over those years and deserves to be the Alpha not me.

Now fate has it that I will take after my father, I hope I can handle and protect this pack very well. First I need to get fit since am no longer eighteen years like back then but twenty two years old. I don't even feel like it though there are slight changes in my appearance.

Sten and Steve had been relieved by James since he is the Beta now but there was no Third yet. From 6:00am I will head to the training grounds to practice with James and from then pick the strongest warrior as my Third. I had alot on my mind to sort out but I promised I am going to be prepared for whatever is coming because I am going to be a change Alpha.

(6:00am) At the training grounds

'Faster! Go faster Aaron' James yelled as we were jogging round the field. I was breathing heavily just after 40 rounds while James wasn't affected by it. I soon stopped when I couldn't continue. I rested on my knees when James stood with his arms on his hips.

'Wow! what a mile you ran..are your bones broken?' he was being sacarstic. I raised my head to glare at him then stood up straight. 'Let's jog again this time to 100. When we are done we are gonna pick among the warriors to be my Third' I said. James nodded his approval and we continue to jog.

After the 100 rounds of jogging we summoned all the pack warriors to gather. I observed all of them, even recognized the old ones while some seemed newly added.

The head warrior, Cole was here too. He is the firstborn son of Steve and was the one who assisted James to help me to the safe house. I explained the reason why they were called and that they have to prove to earn the title.

So I paired all of them in two's and gave them instructions. Each opponents are not allowed to shift but must fight in human forms only. Weapons too are prohibited for this match, then no cheating.

I watch as they begin to fight turn by turn, studying their moves, tactics, speed, flexibility on each other. Some were really good while others were fast but not so good. 'So who catches your fancy most?' James asked. I frowned my face in concentration and replied 'It not all about their skills but their level of trust and commitment as being a Third'. James too was in thought about this 'I feel you should go for Cole though his the warrior head but he can be trusted or that guy over there' he said pointing to a dude with short shabby brown hair and green eyes.

'Who is that?' I asked looking at him.'That's Dylan don't you remember him?..he is Janet's cousin' James said. Janet was Sten's daughter and Dylan was Sten's nephew, I never knew he lost his parents from the rogues attack three years ago. 'I hope he is good because we need someone we can work with. What if we take Cole then make Dylan the head warrior. How do you see it?' I asked. 'That sounds great so it is solved then' he said.

'So we have decided who is fit for the title. Cole congrats you are the Third and Dylan you are now the head warrior from today' I said while everyone clapped and cheer Cole and Dylan offering their congrats to them. Then I dismiss them and headed to the pack house with James and Cole behind me. James was briefing him on few duties as a Third. I smiled within me thinking about the unexpected new beginnings of my life.
