DALLAS POV
"Urgh!" I groaned for the third time in under a minute.
"Why do my eyes always sting when I put these in?" I whined, clearly irritated as I looked at Dale Nash, my best friend, and my future beta, through the mirror while trying to adjust my blue contacts.
"Stop being a little p***y," he chuckled, throwing a bottle of eye drops at me, "One drop for each eye".
"And that is why you, dear sir, are my best friend," I said, laughing as I caught the small container.
“Why? because I tell it how it is?” He said, smirking at me through the mirror.
“No, because you always solve my problems”. I rolled my eyes at him, “If anything, your mouth is a con in this friendship.”
After popping in the eye drops and correcting my contacts, I stared at the 'other' me.
"I still can't get used to it," Dale says while watching me, his 6 ft frame leaning against the doorway.
I nodded, thinking the same thing. Every time I looked in the mirror and saw ‘Bentley Summers’ staring back at me, my heart sank and my thoughts would instantly become clouded with memories and the reasons why we had to live like this, in disguise.
"How long do we have to keep doing this?" He asked, coming to stand next to me as he reached out and grabbed his toothbrush and paste from the holder under the mirror.
"Until Dallas can take back his rightful place as the Alpha of the Blue Crescent pack," a voice said out of nowhere.
I sighed, ‘Mmm, what he said”. I nodded, running my hands through my hair one last time as my Gamma, Aiden’s face came into view within the mirror.
After the three of us checked our backpacks again to ensure that we had everything, we each sprayed a special mist over ourselves that would hide our scents and then I picked up my glasses that had no lenses and the keys to my BMW "Alright boys,” I smiled at my best friends, “let's go!"
….
As I drove through the town towards our new school, I couldn't help but reminisce about my childhood days. When my parents were still alive, we would often come to this town to visit the Alpha of the Full Moon pack and his family.
"Macy" Riley, my wolf whimpered
"We'll find her soon bud" I replied, my heart softening at the mere mention of her name.
Macy was, or rather, she still is, the Alpha of the Full Moon pack's daughter, the girl I had fallen in love with at first sight, and hopefully, she would become my mate, wife, and future Luna to my pack. The only thing was that I had not seen her in at least ten years if not longer, and even though we were in the Full Moon pack’s territory, I did not know what she looked like nor did I know if our paths would even cross but I f***ing hope they do.
Parking up, I knew we would get some attention. I actually counted on it since we were the only new students in school, but I may have underestimated just how much attention we would get. Since Aiden is my Gamma, it is his duty to get out of the car first, followed by my Beta, and then, eventually, me.
As Aiden exited the car, the girls in the area went crazy, their eyes full of lust for him and their bodies seemed to lean in, waiting for him to make his next move. I thought it may have just been a coincidence, but then when Dale exited the car and a similar thing happened to him, I knew then that it was no coincidence.
“Human females are idiots” Riley mumbled as he proceeded to curl himself into a ball in the back of my mind, his tail over his snout and his eyes closed.
“Wake me when it’s over.”
“Mmm” was my only reply as I too got out of the car, making sure to avoid those that had gathered around Aiden and Dale and headed straight towards a big sign that read “Administration”.
Entering the small office that could barely contain someone of my size, I was immediately bombarded by a 5’4 blonde wearing what could only be described as a handkerchief around her top half and a belt around her lower. I wish I was exaggerating.
“Hi, I’m Stacey. Can I help you?” she purred, her fingertips attempting to caress my forearm.
Jerking back from her touch, I frowned, knowing that it would disgust not only me but also my wolf if her fingertips were to reach their target.
“Yeah, I’m new, I need my schedule” I replied, refusing to act polite toward this tiny mutt.
“Yes, I can help you over here,” an older human lady with golden-rimmed glasses said from behind her.
“Great,” I said, smiling at her as I handed over all my documentation.
To avoid detection, we made sure to enroll in a human university. It meant that no wolf would dare think that we were anything but human, especially since they wouldn’t be able to detect a wolf's scent either.
“Aren’t there meant to be three of you?”
“Yes, the other two will be here soon” I replied, smirking at the mind link that I was receiving from my beta.
“Okay, here is the key to your locker, number 1706. Take the door to your left and it will lead you to the student hallway where your locker is and also where classes will be. Have a good first day Mr. Summers” She smiled
And with that, I was finally able to leave the suffocating brick box called the Administration office.
….
DALES POV
“Let me rip them apart, human” my wolf, Jase, growled in the back of my mind. He was not the only one who was beginning to lose patience with the female attention Aiden and I had received as soon as we had exited the car.
“Alpha, you can come out now” I mindlinked Dallas.
“Oh, did I not tell you?” he replied, sarcasm heavy in his tone.
“Tell me what??” I demanded, pushing a female back who had gotten too close to Aiden.
“I left a while ago, Heather in the Administration office is waiting for you,” he said, not even attempting to hide the laughter coming through the link.
“That B*****d!!” I hissed out loud, causing several girls to take a step back, “Okay girls, nice to meet you all but we need to leave” I said, dragging Aiden with me toward the Administration building.
“What’s wrong?”
“That b*****d left us here and went off to register by himself!”
Aiden started chuckling, “Only he’d do something like that.”
“I don’t know why you’re not annoyed about it, but I’m gonna get him back for this,” I said, my wolf Jase up for the challenge,
“We’ll definitely get them this time,” he said, pouncing in my mind, his tail swishing from left to right.
I smiled, “of course, we can” I agreed, “they’ll never see it coming”.
