MACY POV First period, Monday. The worst class of the day, Human History. Since our school is mixed with werewolves and humans, werewolf classes are held on the pack training grounds and are known as ‘Extracurricular’ and only higher ranking wolves attend this history class with the humans. I guess it’s so that we are aware of the ‘historical’ content of both species. As the heir to the Alpha title, I tend to have a lot of meetings outside of classes as well as training to attend and paperwork to complete, so this class is where I finalize all my appointment times and finish my schedule for the entire week. Today though, as class begins, something feels off, my wolf Lacey won’t settle and it’s starting to get on my nerves. “You’re squirming, what’s wrong?” I asked her, sighing aloud as I rubbed my temples out of frustration. “Not sure, I feel nervous for some reason but also slightly anxious” Lacey mutters back, a look of concern covering her features, her tail swiping left to right in a defensive maneuver. “Well, keep your ears up and I’ll keep my eyes open” she nodded in agreement, both of us going into alert mode. “Yas, Thursday at 3, there’s a pen mark but that’s it” I sigh, mindlinking with my beta hoping she can fill in the blanks as I finish up my schedule. All I hear is a sigh that comes straight back through the link, “Late lunch, with your mother …and the Alpha from the Moonstone pack” Anger fills me, and I know it’s not mine but my wolf, “It better not be another trap” she sneers, her anger radiating down the link as she unintentionally taps in, “I will find out straight away Alpha” Yasmin squeaks back, fear evident in her voice. “Let me know” I sigh cutting the link. “That’s two sighs in the last minute, is everything okay?” a voice suddenly says, breaking through my thoughts and bringing me back to reality. "Hmm?" I questioned, looking up and coming face to face with the most gorgeous being I'd ever come across. “When did…” “I’m not sure, I never felt his aura” Lacey mumbled, her ear ticking in annoyance. “Weren’t you meant to be on high alert?” “Weren’t you?” “Touche!” I replied, my right eye also twitching in annoyance. If there’s one thing I don’t like, it’s someone making a move I never calculated, especially if that someone is a stranger. “I asked if you were okay since you seemed to be sighing a fair amount,” he repeated, “I’m fine” I tsked, turning my head away from him toward the teacher, it should be illegal to be that attractive. Stealing a quick peek at him through my peripherals, I tsked again, even his side profile was gorgeous, he had to be sculpted by the Gods. He had blue piercing eyes that were hidden behind thin-rimmed glasses, his nose straight, and his lips not too thin yet not too full, they were just perfect. “I’m Bentley, by the way,” he said, his voice low and incredibly close. “Good to know,” I said stiffly, still refusing to look at him. “What’s your name?” I sighed, turning to face him as I gave him my best glare, “That’s on a need-to-know basis, and you, don’t need to know”. I know I sounded like a b***h, and it’s on purpose because he’s a human, and it’s in his best interest to stay away from me, but if I’m being completely honest, I’m not a people person anyway. He looked slightly startled but then chuckled, the sound like music to my ears, yet another thing that was perfect. "Weird," Lacey muttered. For the rest of the class, we never spoke. Now and again, I would feel his gaze on me, but I never looked and instead focused on taking notes. I couldn't let little things like good looks distract me. When the class finished and we gathered our belongings, he cleared his throat. "So, I guess I'll be seeing you around?" He asked. "Hopefully", Lacey purred. "You’re disgusting." "It’s a school, I’d say you probably will,” I said, smirking slightly, proud of my comeback. He laughed, pushing his glasses further up his nose with his middle finger, “Well then, I’ll see you later” he said. I grabbed my backpack while tossing my hair over one shoulder, “Whatever” I said back to him as I made my escape towards the classroom door. It was getting too stuffy in here, I needed to get out quickly. One thing I knew for sure though, Stacey was right after all. …. DALLAS POV “Good morning,” I said to the teacher as I entered my first-period class. “Oh Hello, you must be the new transfer student” “Yup, you can call me Bentley,” I said, returning her smile while ignoring the fact that she was totally checking me out. “Welcome, find a seat and if you need any kind of help, just let me know, I’m more than willing to help,” she said, as she looked up at me through her lashes. “Gross” Riley muttered, clearly feeling nauseous at the teachers' actions. “Thanks, I’m sure I’ll be fine,” I said before making my way to an empty seat in the back row. The girl next to me had her head down, her hair covering her face and she seemed to have already started taking notes, even though our class had barely begun. I could smell that she was a wolf and a high-ranking one at that, “She has a decent amount of muscle, maybe she’s a warrior” Riley piped up, the topic piquing his interest as well. As I arranged my workspace, I heard her sigh, which made me look at her again. Her posture was still the same and it made me question whether I’d actually heard it or not, but then she sighed again and my curiosity got the best of me. “That’s two sighs in the last minute, is everything okay?” I asked her. Her body stiffened, “Hmm?” she asked, looking up and coming face to face with me. As our eyes connected and my heart stilled for a second, I had never seen a girl this beautiful before, and because I’m so close, it was clear to see that she wasn’t wearing an ounce of makeup, making her naturally beautiful. This day just got so much better.
