Silas’ pov
“What are you doing here?” I gritted out as Scarlett stared at me with wide eyes.
“I-I just-” she stuttered and my eyes squinted as I knew she wanted to lie.
“I sent for her alpha, I told you I was interested in her.” Gary appeared behind her and I looked from him to her, noting the sigh of relief that flooded her face.
“Why did you lie to the border officers I was aware.” I probbed and her eyes widened in panic.
“I thought they wouldn't let me leave if I hadn't,” she muttered as her cheeks slowly turned pink as she looked away from me in embarrassment.
“How long have you been standing outside my door, Silas? One would think you were trying to eavesdrop,” Gary commented and I noticed the mocking glint that he had in his eyes.
